6 hour reception?

That seems too long. The last wedding I went to had a 3 hour reception.

We reserved our DJ for 6hours. I don't think everyone will stay for a full 6 hours. People tend to start dwindling after the cake is cut honestly.

4 is usually what I see. 6 seems really long.

Does that 6 hours include cocktail hour and/or dinner? ETA: you answered this. Ours was 5 hours including cocktail hour and dinner and I would have loved an extra hour. It will fly by so fast you won't even notice.

With dinner abs dancing I would say average.

I suppose our reception is planned to be about 6 hours including the plated dinner and dancing. About 6pm to midnight. I think we might end up planning for it to be more like 5-5.5 hours though and end it at 11-11:30.

Ours was, 6pm to midnight including the cocktail hour. It went to 2am

Does that include ceremony? We were 5 hours total including 20 minute ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. it was fine, I could have done another hour though!

Yep sounds standard our ceremony starts at 3:30 and will end around 4 the party goes until 10

Ours was a 6 hour reception.. 5-11pm (included cocktail hour and dinner). The ceremony mass was at 2pm (with a gap).

Ours is 5 hours 1 for cocktail hour 4 for reception. I would love an extra hour though weddings are so much fun!
