$2500 Budget! Help!

Rachel, on August 22, 2012 at 12:48 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 17

My fiancee and I have a $2500 budget for our honeymoon. We havent agreed on a destination yet, but it seems like for a week long honeymoon, staying in the USA is our only option. Anyone have any ideas for us on how to minimize honeymoon expenses while still making it special?

You can leave the country for $2500 for a week. Where do you live? Where do you want to go? What do you guys like to do?

Also check the area for the average weather. Try to avoid certain spots in July if it's Hurricane season.

Look at CheapCarribean.com. We went to Punta Cana for 5 days for about that much and we could have gone longer if we went to a cheaper place.

Yep - I'm thinking all-inclusive might be the way to go. My parents go to Mexico or Jamaica or somewhere Caribbean once a year, and I know them well enough to know that's about all they're spending.

Check the groupon getaways and the living social escapes.

Try funjet or apple vacations. They have some great all inclusive and give places scores based on the quality of the place. I've used apple vacations several times and have always had a good experience. Be careful with groupon or living socials, sometimes there are better deals for the same place you just have to search.

I agree with @Tammy S. about Apple Vacations. I have used them quite a few times and so have family members. I've even gone to Mexico for way less than that. All inclusive is a beautiful thing :-)

Rachel, please feel free to email me at *********@*****.***, I can possibly help you find an all inclusive package in Mexico or the Caribbean within your budget. There is no fee to use me and I can match the internet prices!

Check with your local travel agent, FH is a AAA member and they were able to help us out with narrowing down our criteria. I am sure a local agent can sit down with you and run through what your options are, in or outside the us Smiley smile

You can def. go on a honeymoon out of the country, just look for all inclusive. A cruise is a great option!

I hope you'll consider updating your avatar to a unique picture -- the default rings sometimes get lost in the crowd. Smiley sad Here's how to do that and more: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/new-to-the-weddingwire-forums-please-read-before-you-post/b433c40c1a62b96a.html

A cruise or an all-inclusive resort are great options. Definitely use a travel agent - that can save you time and money. We travel agents sometimes get deals that are not available directly to consumers, so you could miss out!

Carnival tends to have pretty good deals on cruises. Just fooling around I plugged in leaving from FL in July and found one that's a 6 day Western Caribbean cruise for $879 per person with a balcony room. All the food on their cruises is included except soda and alcohol, so this leaves some fudging money for excursions and booze. And if you wanted a room with just a window or an inner room it's a bit less expensive than that. They have great options, and after traveling with them twice (and overall my immediate family has gone on 4 cruises with them) I give them a positive review.

We're doing a Carnival cruise that departs from Puerto Rico and goes to At. Thomas, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Lucia and St. Maarten 7 days Ocean view for $468pp it's definitely do-able!
