2022 Brides!! — when did you get engaged?

I got engaged in July 2019, and originally planned my wedding for July 2020. COVID happened, so we postponed to July 2022. We went from a one year engagement to a three year engagement. I totally hear you on the deposits all adding up! Booking vendors was definitely a time where we spent a lot of money in a short period of time for that reason. As far as whether you should move your wedding date or not, only you can answer that. If you need more time to save up money for the deposits, it couldn't hurt to move it out one more year. If you've already made some deposits on a date in 2022, and those vendors won't let you postpone without paying a new deposit, then I would look through everything to see if it's worth it to lose the initial deposit, or if you should just keep your date and find different options for the remaining vendors that fit your budget better.

We got engaged in December 2018 and plan our wedding for fall 2020 (so 2 year engagement). But, thanks to Covid, we will now have a 4 year engagement

We got engaged last October and will be getting married next October. We originally wanted a 1 year engagement, but it was nearly impossible to find a venue and we didn't want to deal with the headache of slim vendor picks. Now that the 1 year mark has passed I honestly don't know how I would've managed to get everything done in a year lol.

We got engaged 4/20/2019 and had an original date of 4/17/2021 but thanks to covid we now have a date of 11/5/2022.

Engaged July 10 2021, getting married May 14 2022. But its a minimony at home so not too many vendors to deal with, just officiant, photographer, and caterer.

We got engaged 12/23/2020 and are getting married 03/12/2022... so happy to almost be done with all this stress!

April 2022 to June 2022 💍

Engaged in September 2019. I wanted a spring wedding so it was going going be a long-ish engagement no matter what. Originally were going to get married this past year but postponed it to May '22.

Engaged in April 2020, planned our wedding for September 2021 in the hopes things would settle down by then, but then cases exploded in our country and we've had to postpone until Feb 2022.

If I'd had the option, I would have liked to have been married within 6 months, but we are both older, reasonably financially secure and could afford to do that.

There's nothing wrong with pushing a date out to save the money you need!

July 2020, and getting married New Years Day

I got engaged on Christmas of 2020 and will be getting married Net Years Day, 2022! We originally planned for a 2023 wedding, but pushed it forward in May as we just didn’t want to wait.

Engaged December 2020 & getting married April ‘22, so 15 month engagement. It has been a good length of time due to finances & busy schedules. 4 months away & we have everything sorted that can be at this point. All that’s left are last minute details. A year would’ve been plenty of time to get everything done, but I’m happy that we had some downtime to enjoy being engaged.

Got engaged at the end of April of this year; wedding is 7/2/22. We started planning immediately and found a lot of vendors were already booking up; we originally wanted a June wedding, but the venues we wanted were already totally booked! I do like that it's given us time, and I don't feel like my life has been totally taken over by wedding planning.

We got engaged June 12th and will be getting married on August 13th! We spent July planning a local wedding, and then changed our minds in August and spent the month of August switching gears to a destination wedding! I was set on August 13th, as it will be our 5th anniversary and I'm a sucker for stuff like that, and all the venues I loved here in town were already booked or had other couples looking at the date (with September and October completely booked).

Got engaged June 2021 ... had a baby July 2021 .. and now definitely looking to get married 2023 in my case thanks to baby not to covid 😂... I blame covid for the virtual babyshower.

Got engaged November 21, and managed to snag a venue for June 22! My fiance and I always wanted late spring/early summer to get married, but our engagement was delayed due to severe family illness. I am thankful my deposits have not been too extreme and I am very blessed to have my parents helping out a lot!
