I've been engaged since 2017 and had to change my original date of 2019 and will be getting married in 2021. I originally was set for having it in California, but now will be in Arkansas. If you have any questions of a long engagement or deciding about changing your date please feel free to ask me.

Two years is not too long. My fiance and I decided on a long engagement to allow us to pay it off in a timely manner. If you are paying it by yourself and not in a rush to get married I suggest having an engagement longer then a year. Looking at venues so early also allows for lower rates because the cost of living hasn't been calculated for the date. I saved $12 per person at one venue because I started planning so early.
