Young woman in her mid-20's engaged to a soon to be out of the military man. We survived his bootcamp, training, and an 11 month deployment overseas while I was planning our wedding on my own back in the states. I believe we can get through anything. I'm someone who doesn't go with etiquette and instead goes with what's best for us and our guests. Yes I'm that girl whose having a cash bar, included an optional registry info card with her invitations, and absolutely hates wedding websites. Not all rules apply to every person's wedding so don't be afraid to break some for just ONE day of your life.

1933 days agoHusband and I have been married over a year now and we decided early on that neither of us wanted his last name nor to hyphenate both names due to obvious teasing that we would have to deal with for the years to come (James and Lebron, the reactions...

2485 days agoHello! So there's a groomsman in the wedding party who is a friend to both me and my fiance. The problem is he works part time and they've cut back his hours (everyone's hours actually) quite a bit until the seasonal picks back up. I'm talking like...

2509 days agoHello! I'm having my shower next month, my mom and bridesmaids are throwing it but I've still been pretty hands on with a lot of things due to the fact that no one else knows how to work a Cricut machine and craft things like I do Anyway its a tea...

2526 days agoSo I was just informed by my mother that its basically a requirement for the bridal party to pair up and dance with each other at some point during the reception. I guess after the first dance to start the dancing? I have never heard of this though...

2788 days agoSo my reception is being held outdoors under this huge acorn tree with garden lights all through it. The area comes with a small green area with a lamp post style old clock in one corner and we're free to do whatever we want. I was planning on making...

2791 days agoSo my wedding is pretty far off but with my fiance being deployed I, along with MOH's help and talking with my fiance as much as possible, have been doing a lot of basic planning to set things up so it'll be easier when he's home. He has to readjust...

2796 days agoSo my dad recently got me and my mother a Circut machine and I am just beginning to learn how to use it but this thing is supposed to be amazing and be able to do all these awesome things with papers and fabrics (printing, cutting, etc). Has anyone...

2802 days agoSo not to pat myself on the back too much but due to the venue sales rep making a mistake on the projected pricing sheet and then again when she said the original date we wanted was free and later finding out it was taken she lowered our minimum AND...

2808 days agoSo my last name is James, his is LeBron (yes get your laughs out now). Back in the day his father was angry at his own dad and legally changed the name to LeBron, no idea what the original name was. I know it sounds maybe a bit harsh but I really...

2809 days agoSo I would love to hear from individuals who have had a Thursday evening wedding, a wedding with no small/no kids at all, and/or a non-religious wedding when one or both sides of the family are pretty religious. Any advice? How did it go? My fiance...

2810 days agoLittle rant. So my fiance is currently deployed and, with major help and support from my parents, I've been visiting venues and talking about packages and basically planning everything mostly on my own so far. We finally got it down to two venues....

2820 days agoSo originally my fiance and I agreed a cash bar would be the best choice for the reception. We're paying for the wedding ourselves with barely any help from family so we can't afford an open or tab bar. But the more I think about it the more I worry....
