Circut Machine Wedding Use

Olivia, on November 20, 2018 at 2:59 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 20
So my dad recently got me and my mother a Circut machine and I am just beginning to learn how to use it but this thing is supposed to be amazing and be able to do all these awesome things with papers and fabrics (printing, cutting, etc). Has anyone used one to make their own wedding decorations or even their own invitations or anything?

Using mine to make custom wine glasses to use instead of escort cards! Also using it to make all of my "welcome" signs! I made my card box as well. If I didn't have such a good friend who's family gifted me my custom invitations I was considering doing those too. It's my new favorite thing! Have fun! The possibilities are endless

I ordered an invitation template on Etsy and used my Cricut to make a mock up invitation and folder to see if I can pull it off and it came out awesome! It's going to take me some time because I can only cut one invitation at a time but I have plenty of time so I plan on making all my invitations with the Cricut. I will also make all my signs, favor boxes, personalized monograms to put on glasses for my girls, and basically everything else that I can think of on it lol I love using that thing

I've used it for tons of wedding decor and our honeymoon shirts. I love my Cricut. I'll attach some pictures of my projects so far.

How do you do all of that? Are there special papers for monograms and signs? Are there templates to get the box cut outs and everything else?

The invitations I used cardstock paper. The monograms I will use vinyl. A lot of the signs and the favor boxes I will probably use cardstock as well. And there are endless templates on Etsy and on the Cricut Design Space market that you can pick from!

If you are unsure of where to start start searching on youtube for "Cricut tutorials". There are also several instructional videos on Circut's website!

Following. I have my cricut but just not sure if I have the time to make my invitations. I have used it for our bridal party's proposals and plan on using it for my welcome signs and big items like that.

I have used mine a lot! I used the writing tool to address my invitations (think calligraphy without paying for it/doing it yourself) and the cutting tool for my escort cards, seating chart, welcome sign, and a few bridesmaid gifts! I am in love with my cricut lol!

I purchased my cricut machine for use for my wedding. So far it has been amazing. I started it out making products for fun just to get a hang of it now I’m using it for actual signs and anything wedding related. I realized with the amount of time so stuff was just worth buying on Etsy. The more DIY projects you take on the more time you need to finish time. Keep that in mind. Good luck to you. Oh and YouTube will be your best friend. Watch all the videos you can find and do what works best for you.

Yeah I saw a lot of those but wasn't sure how it'd really come out. I was messing with the Cricut last night and did the card they include to show you how it basically works. I then messed with both the writing and cutting a little bit using typed out names and Bride/Groom but the font I chose was too elegant and I had big trouble getting the slivers of paper off without it tearing. The writing came out beautiful though. I worry about buying a design and it not coming out correctly.

Do you have the tools for weeding the pieces you don't need out? Some fonts are a hassle regardless, but if you have the right tools, it makes a HUGE difference!

I didn't have the exact tool, I improvised with something very similar, but it was still a hassle because the pieces were so thin and it was hard to get them out without tearing anything on either side. Think I just chose a really bad font.

What material did you use to make these?

or did you just hodge-podge them on?

    curious how these things work.

The Cricut can cut a ton of different materials. For my globes and signs I used adhesive vinyl and for my shirts I used heat transfer vinyl which I ironed on.
