Sarah also did our engagement photos & we couldn’t have loved them more. We are dying to see our wedding photos but perfection takes time! Sarah came and stayed for a whopping 12 hours when she most definitely didn’t have to. Her ideas are more than we could’ve expected & all of our requests she hit. You will not regret hiring her. 11/10 would hire again! -
User2064171 Sent on 03/11/2015My husband and I chose Sarah to do our wedding and we are thrilled that we did! I knew about Sarah because she did my sister's wedding, so needless to say, Sarah came highly recommended. Sarah was professional but sooo personable at the same time. She made sure to meet and talk with us before the wedding, so she knew exactly what types of photos we were looking for. Our photos came out better than we could have hoped and it is all thanks to Sarah! She was so fun to work with on the day of our wedding and made great suggestions as well as kept us going so we got all the photos we wanted. Sarah has great ideas and really neat locations she uses as well if you want some unique photos. The part that sets Sarah apart from others is (besides her amazing personality of course, she feels like a close friend the day of your wedding) the extra work she puts in. Sarah surprized my husband and I with a really funny and unique photo we wanted (Gorilla chasing our wedding party). She also has a photobooth which was a huge plus and she gives you the rights to your photos so you can print them out on your own without going through an onine website. I honestly can't say enough good things about our experience and I would recommend Sarah's services to anyone. Thank you Sarah!!!!! -

Danielle Sent on 12/24/2010Sarah is the most amazing photographer. She has the best attitude, was super patient through all the pictures, and made me feel like I had a friend who just happened to be taking pictures. I cannot recommend her enough. -

She told clients it would be two weeks for pictures to arrive but after two weeks she told clients she was busy & they needed to have patience & wait. A little slow with finished product & photographer seemed annoyed when client was anxious to see wedding photos by her stated date. Nice photos though.Sarah J Photography's reply:
In my defense, I've never told any clients 2 weeks for wedding photos. It's always been 4-6 weeks. But this season has been very busy, personally & professionally. (I've also never told clients to have patience...sorry this just isn't me to say that). I've thanked my clients numerous times for their patience. I'm not sure how this is seeming annoyed?
Although I'm glad you are satisfied with the photos, I would love to have a chance to explain myself.

User1185190 Sent on 06/03/2013I'm somewhat surprised that Sarah continues to receive high reviews and for other brides' sake, our hope my experience was a fluke. Sarah was one of the first vendors I booked for our wedding and one that I was most excited about. I was disappointed in our photos--the same cliche poses that are all over her site, sun in the faces of our families during the family portraits and some less than flattering poses/shots. However, my biggest problems came after the wedding. Sarah was very difficult to get ahold of by email or phone, often not responding for weeks. Our proofs took three months to get back (we had been told something like 6-8 weeks), and our albums took over two months. I feel like once she had our money and the wedding was over, she didn't care any more about customer service. -
User912175 Sent on 08/26/2012Out of all of the vendors I booked for my wedding, I was the most disappointed in Sarah J. Though our pictures were decent, her behavior was less than professional. The day of the wedding, she was late arriving to my parent's house which seemed to set the tone for the rest of the day. Also, prior to our wedding day, she lost our detail sheet and asked if we could fill out another; we happily obliged. However, the day of our wedding she seemed to have either lost the sheet again or had forgotten everything we had discussed. She even seemed to be put-out when we suggested we take a picture in front of our church, an idea she had approved prior to our wedding. She also had promised to make us a "thank you" sign to be used for our thank you cards. That sign never materialized. Additionally, we had a large wedding and she seemed extremely flustered by large crowds--not a trait I appreciated seeing in a wedding photographer.
And what's most upsetting is what happened after our wedding day. It was very difficult to get a hold of her and she often made promises she could keep. As a result of her negligence, we received our wedding album a year after we ordered it. We had paid her in-full prior to the wedding, so I don't understand why we were treated so poorly.
When I read glowing reviews from other brides I feel cheated. In the beginning I gave her the benefit of the doubt and just assumed she was having a bad day. But now, over a year later, I realize there was really no excuse for her attitude and lack of professionalism. She made an already nervous bride even more anxious on her wedding day, and for that alone, I wouldn't recommend her.
