Our Wedding was located at Sandos Playacar, Riviera Maya in Playa Del Carmen along the gorgeous Caribean sea! Armando took great care of us, making sure we had all the little details we wanted in our wedding and making it all come together beautifully. It got a little a rainy on our day but it created the most beautiful wedding when the rainbow came out for us and then we had a mix of sun and clouds the rest of our day! Truly unique! Everyone was laughing and having a good time with the weather that came our way. We had an amazing 4 course meal right on the beach for the reception and had a beautiful dance floor to dance on! It was the most incredible setting to have the ceremony and reception in! We kept looking around thinking- wow we are really here in this beautiful spot getting married!! Thank you so much Armando for creating the most amazing wedding for us and taking great care in everything!! It was everything we wanted and all the weather surprises that came our way made it that much more special!! -

Our wedding at Sandos Playacar was an unforgettable experience, filled with both highs and some small bumps along the way, but in the end, it was absolutely perfect. We would not hesitate to choose Sandos Playacar again for a wedding.
Wedding Team: From the start, I worked directly with the wedding sales executive, Yunuen Palma, who was wonderful (10/10). She was helpful and guided us through the initial stages of booking, answering all our questions. Our on-site wedding coordinators, Frida Granados and Luis Armando Villasenor Dominguez, were both exceptional and deserve a perfect 10/10 as well. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Wedding Ceremony: Our ceremony took place on the beach, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The turquoise water, soft sand, and the overall beach setting made it feel like a dream come true. It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful setting (10/10).
Reception: The cocktail hour and reception were held in the stunning garden. We chose to pay extra for a dance floor, which we were very happy with. We didn’t opt for the string lights, and in hindsight, we’re glad we didn’t, as the atmosphere was perfect without them (10/10).
Food and Drinks: The food and drinks were delicious—everything from the hors d’oeuvres to the main course was well-prepared and flavorful. Our wedding cake was also amazing (10/10).
Entertainment: We had sound entertainment during the ceremony, as well as a DJ for the cocktail hour and reception. The DJ did a fantastic job keeping the energy lively throughout the night (10/10).
Overall Experience: The entire experience was smooth and memorable, and I’d rate the wedding services a solid 10/10. There were definitely some challenges leading up to the big day, but the team at Sandos Playacar made sure everything was handled well in the end.
Planning Process: Initially, I had been working with a wedding planner from the U.S., but they suddenly bailed on me, so I decided to work directly with the resort. After reserving our date with a $250 deposit, I didn’t need to pay anything else until we arrived at the resort. The wedding coordinators are accessible through WhatsApp, but there was some initial nervousness on my part, as the communication seemed slow at first. I received a document called "Masterfile" after signing the contract, which outlines the details of the wedding package, music, seating, and timeline. However, I didn’t receive direct communication with a coordinator until about a month before the wedding, which made me anxious (especially because I’m a bit of a planner myself).
I did try to reach out a few times but had trouble connecting, which was frustrating. However, once I spoke with Frida, I felt a huge sense of relief. She confirmed everything was on track. While Frida was very busy handling multiple weddings, Luis was also an excellent help, especially with questions regarding lighting for the reception. By the time we arrived at the resort, everything fell into place, and I realized just how hard they work—handling multiple weddings per day! It was impressive to see the dedication of both Frida and Luis. They really made our wedding day happen flawlessly.
Decor and Extra Details: We did bring a few personal touches, like LED candles, small bud vases, a thank-you sign, and wedding favors. I was pleased that there were no extra charges for these items, except for the flowers for the bud vases, which were $210. The resort’s team also steam-pressed our outfits and delivered them to our room. Our meeting with Frida and Luis took about two hours and covered everything in detail. After the wedding, we picked up our décor from the wedding office, and they even helped pack it up for us.
Suggestions for Improvement: While our experience was mostly wonderful, I would recommend an update to the timeline document provided to couples. Specifically, it would be helpful if the timeline clarified that all planning and finalizations will happen during the first meeting at the resort. For someone like me, who tends to worry, it would have eased some of my anxiety knowing that everything would be handled in person upon arrival.
Final Thoughts: In the end, our wedding was everything I dreamed of and more. I cannot thank Frida and Luis enough for making it all happen. If you’re planning a wedding at Sandos Playacar, I highly recommend working with them. They truly made our wedding day special and stress-free.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding coordinator. Araly was wonderful in everything she did, she took care of things she didn’t even have to, to make sure our special day was amazing. We had unforeseen weather that came up and she stayed on top of it and in constant contact with us. She took her time with us and explained everything of how it was gonna work before, during and after the wedding. The food for our wedding was amazing and all the guest said it was the best meal they had while they were there. Araly overall made this the best experience we both had while we were at the Sandos Plyacar Resort.

Incredibly grateful for wedding coordinator Ricardo and his team at Sandos Playacar. Every detail is accounted for, we were in very able, good hands. Im so happy we had a destination wedding and would 100% do it all over again at Sandos! We got married on the beach and do to unpredictable weather at the last minute we had to change the reception location due to rain but everything (plan B) was taken care of proactively and rather quickly. No stress! Beautiful decour. Great food. Loved my hair and makeup. Thank you Sandos, Thank you Ricardo! -

Araly and all the wedding coordinators at Sandos Playacar are amazing! They are a great team and help each other out to make sure your wedding goes smoothly.
My wedding day was perfect. It exceeded my expectations and there were zero hiccups. The attention to detail was amazing. All of Araly’s recommendations were beautiful. Everything came together so nicely. I cannot thank Araly and her team enough for all their hard work.
I would recommend having your wedding at Sandi’s Playacar to anyone! Truly a great experience. -

We decided to have our wedding at Sandos Playacar after extensive research into a bunch of resorts in Mexico and it did NOT disappoint! Locations are beautiful ( we chose the Garden), a huge resort with lots to do for everyone, vendor fees are lower than other resorts, and in my opinion one of the best wedding departments ever!! All of our +70 guests are still raving over the time we spent together. Luz was our coordinator and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was on top of all of our crazy ideas (we wanted multiple disco balls and a flip cup table for our reception, and she delivered 🤣), helped us feel comfortable and supported the whole time leading up to the day, and you could just tell how invested she was in our event even though you know she’s dealing with multiple brides at a time, we never felt like we didn’t have all her attention to us. The day ran perfect and without a hitch, better than we could have imagined, and it wouldn’t have happened without Luz ❤️ She is an absolute rockstar who is so passionate about what she does. I got married the second week of April and I couldn’t be happier. The resort and venue was beautiful. The staff was so kind and really kept the night alive. My wedding coordinator Luz made sure I had everything the whole day. I highly recommend this resort. The food is delicious, beach is stunning and truly amazing service. I was very happy with every aspect of the wedding. The decor, florals, dj, the wedding setup, food for cocktail hour and reception, hair and makeup, photography with Romania and my lovely coordinator. Everything was exactly how I envisioned it. If I could I’d get married here over and over again! This resort has so many beautiful spots for photos as well. -

We are extremely happy with Sandos and their wonderful wedding coordinator Araly! She took care of every detail of our wedding. She listened, took our opinions and wishes to heart and was extremely professional throughout. From the moment we started communicating with her, she took the time to learn who we were and what we wanted for our big day. She made sure to help us curate our wedding Playlist and helped us customize our reception play order.
Araly helped us with organizing our wedding rehearsal and announced our wedding weekend in such a customized and unique way. Overall, we experienced an unforgettable wedding. I found Sandos Playacar through Destination Wedding a free wedding website to help you plan! Which I will also give a review on their page if you’re interested in using them!
The moment I was connect with Sandos it was amazing! They send you via email everything you need to know and fill out before you’re appointed a wedding coordinator at the resort! I love how organize they are, they even give you a wedding timeline so you stay on top of all the things you need! My coordinator name is Ricardo he was just wonderful 1000/10! He made my wedding dreams came true! He is very detail oriented, professional and communicative which is perfect since I can’t physically be there till it’s time. He always check on me to make sure I am happy and my guest are happy. He made sure everything turned out just how i wanted! It sprinkled alil on my wedding day as I was getting my hair done and he told me, “don’t you worry everything will be fine I will make sure of it. The sun will come out the moment the bride Is ready.” You need someone like this on your corner especially on your wedding day! The flowers and decoration were perfect just what I wanted! You can tell he enjoys making sure he’s wedding couples happy! The location of this resort is BEAUTIFUL! The beach is like a dream the restaurant and buffet is so good! The staff is so kind! My wedding food was delicious! All my wedding guest loved it! My MC was named Oscar he was so energetic and fun! I wish I could give your more details because my wedding was perfect! I wish I could relive it lol

Our wedding at Sandos Playacar was nothing short of magical, and it's all thanks to our extraordinary wedding planner, Luz, and her dedicated team. From the outset, we dreamed of a colorful, upbeat, and fun celebration, and Luz brought our vision to life with impeccable flair and creativity.
The entire process was seamless and stress-free, thanks in large part to Luz's meticulous planning and organization. We spent about two hours filling out the wedding and DJ planning forms a few days before the ceremony, and that was the extent of our "stress" – if you could even call it that! Luz handled everything else, allowing us to relax and enjoy the moment.
Despite a last-minute change in venue due to rain, moving from the garden to the lobby terrace, Luz designed a beautiful cocktail hour that exceeded our expectations. The reception was unforgettable, from the DJ's fantastic music selection that kept everyone on their feet, to the delicious meal that left all our guests raving. The wait staff was wonderful, circulating with shots, champagne, and water, ensuring everyone was having a great time.
Many of our guests have shared that it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. The hair stylist did an amazing job as well, adding to the overall joy and ease of the day. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.
We wholeheartedly recommend Sandos Playacar for anyone looking for a dream wedding destination. Luz and her team will make sure your day is as perfect as ours was. We loved every minute of our celebration and are so grateful to have had such a skilled, caring, and organized team behind us. We had our wedding here on Jan 24, 2024 and it was truly an amazing experience!
We have been to this resort a few times and it has always been our favourite due to the good variety of food, wide beach, and close proximity to Playa del Carmen!
Our wedding coordinator Luz reached out to us about 3 months in advance and we started planning! The have easy to fill out forms and it makes it easy to not miss anything! There was some things I didn’t pick until I actually got there but that was totally okay and Luz made sure everything was exactly what I wanted.
Luz was truly an amazing person and she made us feel very confident that the day would run smoothly! She organized everything beautifully! I sent her some inspo pics and everything was exactly like that!
The florals were beautiful! The string lights were gorgeous! The DJ was great!
All in all we had the best wedding we could have asked for.
I recommend Sandos playacar to anyone and recommend Luz as well as she was such an amazing person!

We were so fortunate to have Araly as our wedding coordinator! Luz was also helping and she was amazing as well! When people say to trust in the process, TRUST IN THE PROCESS! This team does this very day and they thought of everything. From the moment we arrived at the resort they made us feel so special- a room upgrade, a welcome package in the room and even a special note with our picture on it in the room welcoming us. They killed it! The food, flowers, venue, staff, hair and makeup, the rehearsal dinner, the cocktail hour, literally everything that we could have wanted -

My husband and I got married at Sandos Playacar on 11/25/23. Araly was our wedding coordinator and I can't say enough as to how she and her team made our day more special than we had ever anticipated. We had our wedding on the beach and our reception in the garden. The added touches I brought with, they incorporated into our wedding just perfectly. I loved the way the spa did my hair. The DJ was spot on. Our guests had a blast. We used Romanza for our photography - Martinetti was so easy to work with and our photos turned out beautiful. I also have to mention the flowers! My bouquet and flowers were beyond gorgeous! I would definitely recommend having a wedding at Sandos Playacar. No need to stress with them, they will come through and go above and beyond. Loved them! -

For someone who is type A ensuring my wedding was perfect was something that was super important. From every detail to every attendee it needed to be perfect.
I booked my date and time 13 months in advance and I wanted to start planning with my coordinator that day! However - they are a wedding factory and will ensure you that things will be just how you want it and that someone will be in touch 90 days before...initially I freaked.
Exactly 3 months before I was connected with my coordinator- Ricardo! I was so relieved to have a man as my coordinator...he took the time to listen to me craziness...he was calm and calmed me down! He made me feel like family. Made suggestions and I trusted him because at the end of the day as a bride from the states, I knew nothing about Mexico, the resort, or the weather!
He was a pro! From helping with my gown the day I arrived, to dinner reservations, excusions, and ensuring my day was smooth and it was everything I dream of. He kept me in the loop - check on my husband and I several times throughout the night...the next day and even ensuring we arrived back home safe.
Ricardo is now a part of our family and we were beyond blessed to have him coordinate our perfect wedding!

We had such a beautiful wedding! I wish we had our photos from the photographer so I can post some of the wedding photos, but it’s still in route.
We chose this resort because we have read so many good reviews, & heard about how good the wedding day can be here. Me & my wife got married with the best coordinator possible. When we met Aralay in person, we were so glad we were set up with her! Aralay is & was very professional! Prompt, Professional, friendly & genuine. Even when we didn’t arrive to Mexico yet, we knew over emails and texts that she would make our dream come true with the wedding!!
The day of our wedding, me & wife were constantly checked up on & Aralay did not miss anything. She was there from start to finish! From the ceremony, to the end of the night, she catered to us & our needs. She also stood out to our family. Specifically my wife’s father mentioned that she has been the BEST coordinator he has also worked with, & he’s met with 3 other coordinator’s for his other daughters weddings in America, & they were horrible…. that say’s a lot! He loved Aralay!
I just want to say, that Aralay really left an amazing, unforgettable impression on us, & we plan to come back every year for our anniversary where it all happened. We hope that Aralay is still at the resort for years to come, so others can experience their wedding with her. They will not be dissatisfied! We seen her passion in what she does, & we could tell she truly loves what she does for a living. She truly loves people, wants nothing but the best for them & we will never forget her or the resort!
Mariachi band was amazing, food was amazing! Service impeccable! Our makeup artists & hair artists were also amazing! Highly, HIGHLY recommend Aralay! Would do it all over again. -

Ricardo was AMAZING. I cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us, not only on our wedding day but for the entire time we were at the resort. He helped plan all of our dinners and got us reservations for every night. He gave us recommendations for shopping and out of the resort excursions. He made our day go smoothly without any stress! I could not recommend having your wedding here enough (especially if Ricardo is your planner)! Everything turned out beautifully and we are so pleased with how everything turned out. The ladies that did my nails, hair and makeup were also great! Everything turned out exactly how I imagined and hoped it would be. Luz went above and beyond to make our day truly special. Her hard work and ambition to make our vision a reality was absolutely outstanding! We cannot recommend her enough and the sandos resort is a stunning location for weddings. We chose to have their secluded garden for our ceremony and evening reception but moved to the beach for our cocktail hour inbetween. Every location at this resort is unbelievably beautiful!
We spent many months searching for a hotel that would offer us the full package for a wedding but very few had all Sandos has to offer, the evening reception being the main one. Most hotels only offered a semi private meal with no reception afterward. Sandos Playacar & Luz Hernandez get our 1 million % vote for the perfect wedding destination! Thank you again Luz for everything you done for myself and my husband! We appreciate you eternally ❤ -

Had our dream wedding on 5/12/23. It was absolutely beautiful. More than I even imagined. Our coordinator Araly and The Sandos wedding team is amazing, patient , hard working and super friendly. Like you’ve read before , trust them! It wasn’t 100% perfect, but the little things were so small that it wasn’t even a big deal compared to everything else that went so well.
- extend the reception, time flies. The wedding was over before I knew it and we extended by one hour.
- try your best to stay on schedule on your wedding day , our schedule somehow got messed up because we all lost track of time getting ready. Really wished the coordinators made us more aware but we had to take some blame for not being more mindful!
- we added the mariachi band and belly dancer. Both did a great job!
- we upgraded the arch, the receptions tables and chairs and The centerpieces. Totally worth it! We also brought A LOT of our decor , table runners , signs , chargers , candles , candlesticks
- the special dinner after the wedding was absolutely beautiful and super special
- the resort is stunning. One of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
We had a great time in Mexico. Will definitely go back to Mexico and to Sandos!

We got married on 05.27.23. Sandos Playacar was the perfect resort for a large group (we had 60 people). It’s beautiful and everyone was helpful and very friendly.
Coordinator: Luz is AMAZING. She’s very responsive and so sweet. I had a TON of questions and requests, and she was always so patient and understanding. When we arrived, you could tell she spent a lot of time preparing – she was very organized and on it! Luz definitely made me feel special. I can’t say enough good things about her!
Ceremony: We got married on the beach by the blue moon cafe. Highly recommend. It has very pretty palm trees down the aisle, and it provides nice shade. Our ceremony was at 4. It was HOT, but that’s to be expected.
Cocktail hour: We were going to have this at the garden, but switched last minute to the beach. Glad we did - it kept everyone close by while our family and bridal party took photos. It also had a nice breeze. We got apps, but I didn’t try any. I heard that they were good though. They also made a signature cocktail (cosmo-like), which I heard was good too.
Reception: It started at 6pm at the garden. It was beautiful. I definitely recommend the fans (thanks for the recommendation, Luz), dance floor, and string lights. The lights add such a pretty ambience. At this hour, it was hot, but not that bad. We didn’t have any direct sunlight. Our DJ was through the resort, and he was great - he followed my playlist and added in a few of his own. Kept the dance floor going the whole time. We also got the emcee, which I would 100% do again. He really added some fun and excitement to the party and kept everyone dancing. The food exceeded my expectations - I got the caprese salad, tortilla soup, and flank steak. The steak was well done, but still VERY tender.
Hair / makeup: I got a makeup trial two days before, but then I found out she had quit the day of my wedding. The resort refunded me for the trial and got me another makeup who was awesome. They did everything they could to remedy the situation. I would recommend airbrush as well. I’d never done it before, but it looked natural and stayed out despite all my sweat. My hair and makeup (for 4 people total) took 3 hours.
Overall, I highly recommend Sandos Playacar for your wedding and especially Luz as your coordinator!

From day 1 Ricardo went above and beyond to meet our needs. Each day of our vacation, I would receive a text from him asking how everything was going and if we needed anything. He went out of his way to come and meet us at the pool. Had champagne and fruit sent to our room the morning of our vow renewal. Then had a sweet surprise for us that night! Not to mention room service delivering breakfast that next morning! He was incredible! When we renew our vows for our 20th year, you bet we will be back here with Ricardo 😍 -
