Moon Dancer Winery is a perfect, picturesque wedding venue tucked away in Wrightsville. The views of the vineyard & the Susquehanna river really make for an ideal wedding venue. Judy, the wedding coordinator, is fabulous to work with and she is very responsive! Jim, the owner, is very friendly and flexible. Moon Dancer staff provided us with corks a year prior to our wedding for us to use for guest favors and other wedding-related projects. Our wedding day was beautiful and it was everything that we could ask for - we are so fortunate we found Moon Dancer as our venue early on in our wedding planning process! Thank you!

Had a Great day! Gloria, the new assistant/manager was great and very willing to please. The staff worked very hard to get things together. Stopped in the day before to start dropping items off and they we mulching, painting, and cleaning to get everything ready. Not a single complaint from any of my guests. They had 3 staff members working behind the bar to help serve the drinks during reception. Was nice that guests did not have to wait in line for drinks.

I think if I had to come up with one complaint it would be that I requested help with moving the chairs after the ceremony to the reception tent. I did not want any of my guests moving chairs. It was one of my only major requests. Unfortunately, the Moon Dancer staff was busy serving the drinks and could not help. More of an oversight on part since they can not be in two places at the same time. But something for others to consider.

Thank you Jim, Gloria, and staff!

I cannot get over how perfect our wedding was here. From the beautiful scenery to the laid back party vibe, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Jim, the owner, is so incredibly flexible. He genuinely wants you to have the perfect day and isn't pushy or uptight which we really appreciated. He will pretty much let you do whatever your little heart desires as long as you respect his property (he was totally cool with this surprise my dad had for me - fireworks!). We lucked out with the weather and had a PERFECT day with blue skies in September, but he does have a pretty solid back-up plan in case it rains on your day. I will say that, because the winery is not solely a wedding venue, it can be hard to schedule meetings & such because he is pretty busy, but I think he was very prompt in responding to us and did all he could to help out. The winery was open to the public on our wedding day, but that posed no issues for us setting up and whatnot. Same with the rehearsal the night before. We did pay a little extra to have them close the winery an hour early because the sun starts setting early in September and we wanted good sunlight for the ceremony. We're glad we did it though. His team was very helpful the day of and very accommodating (they made their famous pizzas for our hor d'oeuvres and then again late at night for snacks for our guests). The bartender was also amazing. The only thing that could have been more helpful is if they had a wedding coordinator for the day of, which he had said he was considering hiring but never did. I do think that would be a good idea for weddings being held here, however, our day was perfect without one and his staff helped us out tremendously. Our pictures were unlike anything we could have imagined with that scenery. Highly recommend this place! Thank you Jim!!

We had a beautiful wedding at this venue. Our family and friends could not get over the view and grounds. Jim, the owner, was great and really allowed us to do whatever we wanted with the winery. They also recently updated the building, completing the groom's suite with a balcony, which really made a difference. We have absolutely no regrets about choosing Moon Dancer and would choose it again if we could do it all over. Thanks, Jim and the Moon Dancer Winery Staff!!

If you're considering Moon Dancer for a wedding reception, please read MY review.

We had our reception at Moon Dancer in September and it was the BEST day of our lives. The weather (we lucked out) was gorgeous, the winery itself is breathtaking and then all of our vendors came together to make everything else enjoyable. We purchased personalized wine glasses for our favors from Moon Dancer, which were VERY reasonable. If you're one that needs constant communication, take a few breaths before booking Moon Dancer. Jim is the owner and he is only one person. Sometimes it takes a little while to hear from him, however whatever you need, he makes it happen and is there for you. The day of our reception, everything was exactly how we asked for it to be and then some!!! I couldn't have been more delighted and happy!

Moon Dancer is an incredibly laid back venue, they never said no to any of the things I requested and ultimately followed through on everything they promised. The site was beautiful and even though a few days before the wedding I was concerned as there was some trash on the ground from an event the night before and some things needed a little cleaning everything was taken care of before the wedding.

Please consider though that they do not stand on formality, there are quirks to the place and your wedding is not the driving force of their day to day operations. It might take a week to get back to you and even then they might not answer all of your questions without a little hounding. In the end though the flexibility won out and they did a great job!

This venue really needs its own wedding coordinator. The lack of kitchen makes catering a difficult task. Our rental did include tables and chairs which was helpful. For our outdoor evening event we couldn't have asked for better weather... had we had poor weather, we would have been in trouble. We did have the ability to use their bartenders, but had to supply our own glassware. The venue will only accomdate 75 adults comfortably indoors. Out doors, you are only limited by your imagination. The owners communication is less then acceptable to me. I would only recommend this location if you have a full time coordinator.

The Moon Dancer Vineyard is a beautiful place, the owner and coordinator are very nice and flexible. The bartender was very nice and professional. We had some troubles getting things answered with the piece of mind that it will be taken care of. The day of our wedding they did not ask their guests to leave the band kept playing and we had to guard our food the baker had put out as they thought they could help themselves. People didn't take the hint and leave and they were not asked to leave. They stayed open an hour before our ceremony and this showed us that our $3700. must not have been important enough to cater to our day. My bridesmaids had to clear people out. unprofessional and uncaring.

Although the winery was a gorgeous location and everything did pull together in the end, we were very disappointed with the owner's forgetfulness, lack of communication, and casual attitude which later transformed into stubborness. He rarely returned phone calls or emails within a few days (we often had to call him more than once), gave us incorrect information (like if he had blueprints or a floorplan for the winery), and didn't even have a cancellation policy on his contract -- we had to write our own! On the day of the wedding, he allowed his assistant's dog to be at the winery, and shortly before the ceremony, the dog even got loose and was wandering around among the guests. We loved his location, but were not happy at all with how we were treated.

This is a gorgeous venue, and our wedding here was beautiful, but it was full of pitfalls. The owner, Jim, is very laid back, and was very courteous when first showing us around, but after signing a contract and making a deposit communications just stopped. The staff was less than helpful on the day of the wedding, and they were totally unprepared for us to have our wedding that day. The men had no place to change as they had been told they would, but the OUTRAGE came just as the ceremony started. Our ceremony was actually delayed, because as my bride and her father were beginning to walk to the alter, the owner actually STOPPED THEM TO TRY AND MAKE A SALE! Then during my own reception, he kept me from my bride and our guests to discuss our contract, and continued to harangue me twice more before the night was over. Afterwards, some of our supplies and equipment were 'mistakenly' taken, a very suspicious occurrence considering their unwillingness to help earlier in the day.
BOTTOM LINE: Beautiful facility and views, but if you plan on having an event here, bring a bouncer to keep the staff in check.

The Moondancer was unresponsive AFTER we signed out contract. We also read that it was up for sheriff's sale after we booked the site (!!!), but they refinanced (we had to call to find that out). Throught th planning process, the owner was rude to us, may family and our caterers. We were also told that the winery would be closed at 4 p.m. to set up for our wedding. When we arrived, they had booked THREE parties that had the wimery until 5 p.m. Our wedding was at six, and we had to have guests setting up tables, linens, etc. It is a beautiful location, but you would be much better off at Lauxmont Farms right next door.
