It was a great venue! I loved the simplicity of decorating and that I got to do what I wanted. It took two weeks to contact the event coordinator after numerous emails, and that was two weeks before our wedding. They gave us the bill the day before our wedding and wanted us to pay it on the spot. At the end of the night when we were cleaning up, we couldn't even find our event coordinator. Other than that she answered all of our questions, and moved tables and whatnot when we needed it. I would like to see the price per hour change, we had to pay for full hours even if we were only there for half an hour (setting up/taking down). As well as they said 120 guests would fit in the venue, we had 100 plus a buffet and it was as crowded as I would have wanted it to be. That should be notes for future people looking at this venue.
I loved the nature and the venue, just make sure you are constant contact with the event coordinator, and you know all the rules about the kosher kitchen.
It looks pretty cheap until you account for how many extra hours you'll need and the security guard if you're serving alcohol. Sarah and Betsy were very helpful in answering questions via email and the staff there during our setup and the day of were very helpful with moving furniture and answering any questions we had. One downside is they wouldn't let us do any tear down on the Sunday following the wedding which means we had to be out by midnight on Saturday - this was difficult after everyone had been drinking and partying all night. The fall colors were absolutely stunning four our pictures! We opted for the tent option because we were expecting 150 guests (they can seat a max of 120 inside) and it got chilly - we should have gotten heaters for the tent, we didn't think we'd need them (tent was rented through a third party). Overall the venue and staff were great, spent a little more than I thought we would, but it was great. A lot of the guests commented on how beautiful it was and many took pictures out on the dock on the lake!
Lodge on the Lake is a spectacular setting, both inside and out, for a DIY wedding. We were continually amazed how "away from it all" the location feels, even though it's in the Twin Cities metro; that aspect alone sets it apart among special event venues. The peaceful surroundings, handsome and cozy lodge and pristine natural surround make it memorable for all involved; we received so many compliments. We absolutely LOVED the lodge and the professional, highly personable staff who helped us create a wonderful wedding there.
The Lodge on the Lake provided a beautiful setting for a fall wedding. The response by the staff prior to the wedding was exceptional and provided all the detailed information we needed to plan the wedding and reception. The Lodge provided 3 people during the wedding and reception to help with everything from greeting and directing guests to moving furniture and making sure the event went smoothly. The location was rustic but the facility was modern with all the amenities we needed.
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at Lodge on the Lake and we couldn't have been happier. We wanted a venue that was remote and in the woods, but we also wanted the location to be convenient for our guests. Lodge on the Lake fit the bill perfectly, and the price range was just right for our budget. The lovely outdoor amphitheater faces a quaint lake surrounded by gorgeous trees, and is located just outside the two-story lodge. We had the ceremony outside and the reception/dance inside, which worked out perfectly. We were even able to have a campfire outside, which was great!
The staff was responsive, super nice, easy to work with and bent over backwards to accommodate all of our requests and worked hard attending to details throughout the wedding day and night to help things go smoothly. We loved being able to bring in our own caterer and beer and wine with minimal restrictions. We received so many compliments from our guests gushing over the beautiful venue and how perfect it was for an outdoor, rustic wedding in Minnesota. A wonderful experience overall!
From the moment we met Alyssa (Lodge contact), she was AMAZING to work with! The venue was BEAUTIFUL, Alyssa was helpful in reminding us of what we needed to do and when, there was a lot of flexibility before, during and after the ceremony/reception. Alyssa worked with all the vendors and with our family/friends to make sure everyone was comfortable with what was going on and she and her staff made the day flow flawlessly! INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! All of our wedding guests loved the venue as well. So comfortable and beautiful!!!
