Your wedding is very special to us. We are an elite and rare opportunity. We only accommodate a few weddings a year. We are primarily a luxury Bed and Breakfast. For your event, we shut down for days and your wedding has exclusive access to the entire mansion and its grounds. It is a spectacular and unique experience. Live at the Mansion, entertain at the Mansion, Celebrate at the Mansion.

Imagine this:

On Friday, both sides of the wedding party arrive at the mansion with their bags to check into their luxury rooms. Families meet and hug in a garden, on a gorgeous veranda, not a hotel lobby. Refreshments are served as grandparents pick their favorite chairs overlooking the estate gardens, and grandchildren feed the ducks and koi in the water garden.

The grooms dinner is served right in the mansion at the historic Formal Dining Room or in the opulent Drawing Room. Alternatively, the trolley can transport the wedding party to any of the hundreds of downtown Minneapolis restaurants. After the grooms dinner, cousins and college friends play billiards in the game room, or visit in the hot tub, while the oldsters climb the grand staircase to their bedrooms.

Breakfast is laid out in the dining room in the morning, as the bridesmaids pour mimosas and do their hair and makeup in any one of the amazing great rooms or bedrooms. The groomsmen hang out in their underground lair and help each other put on cuff links. The trolley transports the wedding party around town for pictures and first look, or it all happens on property in the amazing gardens that surround the Mansion.

The trolley begins to bring the guests from the other lodging down the street, or guests drive and park in the easy convenient lot next door. The oldsters sit on the veranda and watch as the wedding evolves in front of them. Nobody is sitting, waiting in a hotel room for this wedding to start. Everybody feels like they are part of it. The mansion is your home, and the wedding evolves seamlessly and uninterrupted over multiple days.

The ceremony is held in the garden by the bubbling fountain, on the veranda, or under the portico in the front of the Mansion. The backdrop for your wedding is the most significant historic home in Minneapolis, the Carpenter Mansion. The Carpenters brought the Arts to Minneapolis and made Minneapolis an arts town, by among other things, establishing the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

The reception flows seamlessly out of the ceremony. The guests are passed hors d'oeuvres in the garden, as wedding pictures take place throughout the estate. Food can be served from the veranda, from inside the mansion or carriage house, or from under a patio tent. It is your space, with no time limits. Typical wedding event spaces start bustling you out the door. Instead at this Mansion, you can cater what you want, and have the timing as you want. People can stay up late or all night, or wander up to the guestrooms early.

Even the farewell brunch can be on the property. The best visiting is the morning after the wedding, when everyone is sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying the gardens or library talking about your amazing weekend. The guests don't disappear off to the airport on flights from a cold hotel room. Instead, everyone treats the mansion like a colossal home and they all get to spend hours and hours of quality time together, talking about the wedding and getting to know each other. Both sides of the family drink coffee together and enjoy casual conversation on the beautiful garden estate.

There is no venue in the Midwest that offers these accommodations and amenities. We only host three weddings a year at the mansion, because we want to keep the events special and unique.
