We are SO lucky that we met Ethan and Karis on holiday 3 years ago and are super happy that we were able to book them to do our wedding in London in July this year!
Ethan and Karis are such lovely people and when working with them are extremely professional and were so discreet on the wedding day!
They are extremely hard working, having scoped out the church and reception venue in advance of the day to familiarise themselves with the locations, lighting etc. Also on the day they made sure we got all of the photos that we wanted to capture (which was particularly challenging gathering our countless groups of friends and family for our portraits, but they did it amazingly which I applaud them for!)
The photos are incredible and we’re truly thrilled with them. So many family and friends have commented on how amazing they are!
We feel that wedding photos are so key to your memories of your special day so we are so happy that we have so many reminders of every aspect of the day which they so amazingly captured.

The best wedding decision you'll make.
I wish there were more stars to add on, because words cannot express how much we loved working with Ethan and Karis! Karis was amazing and responsive during the planning process prior to our wedding. And on the day of - Ethan gave great directions and knew all of the best spots to take photos. He is a perfectionist! (which we greatly appreciated!!) He goes above and beyond on the day of to make sure he can capture all of the special moments - all the ones you'd want to remember! They are both so sweet to work with and I have already recommended them to all of my friends! You won't find any other photographer with Ethan & Karis' eye for photography! Bonus: the photos came back earlier than expected and we loved reliving the wedding day. Every photo looked like it was from a magazine shoot!!! -

After having attended by friend's wedding over 10 years ago in San Juan Puerto Rico, and after having reviewed their photos. I knew immediately that if I were ever lucky enough to get married, that Ethan was going to be my photographer of choice! Ethan captured my friend's destination wedding is such a creative, yet elegant and delicate way. The photos just shone from the page and their love was so evident.
Low and behold, 10 years later, I asked my friend for Ethan's contact details to see if he would be willing to take some engagement photos for me and my husband to be. Luckily, Ethan responded affirmatively and we couldn't have been happier with the photos. All our guests commented on how beautiful they were. Given how awesome our engagement photos turned out, I didn't even want to think about engaging another photographer for our wedding. Ethan (and Karis, his lovely wife and assistant) was it!
My husband and I also had a destination wedding (in Fort Lauderdale, FL) and Ethan captured the day beautifully. He arrived a day before he was to start working and leading up to the big day, we had several touch points both on the phone and via email to review of the "run of show" and talk through logistics. On the big day, he barely sat down! He was determined to capture all the shots possible. He and Karis are so hard working, and so sweet and lovely to work with. We had two great experiences we them! We would hire them again in a a blink of an eye, and we hope to continue working with them, now that we have a little one. -

Catherine Sent on 06/22/2018I discovered Ethan from attending a wedding of my childhood friend in Washington DC. Since I as a guest at the wedding, I experienced the wedding from a different perspective. When I saw Ethan Yang’s photos, they blew me away. The images were depicting the best angles of the wedding and really highlighted certain elements well. Ethan is a talent armed with the ability to capture light in the most flattering way, posing the subject effectively, and creating the best composition.
There is something special about the way the photos compared to other works from other photographers... it looked intimate but not unattainable. I was never fond of photography that made the couple look like they’re the only ones left in a post apocalyptic world or something that’s super fairytale dramatic. I feel that Ethan’s artistic eye allows the photo to shine with authentic storytelling.
I booked with Ethan through just a couple of email exchanges and never met in person until the big day. I don’t have any expectation and tried to gave him full creative liberties as a professional to do what he does best.
What I didn’t expect was how well he was able to navigate around large groups of bridal party plus Asian elders who may not want to pose or do what he wanted them to do. He was patient, empathetic and knew how to maximize the time and gain trust from the elders. My father even really stepped back from his usual know-it-all self and said to me “he really knows how to do this!”
Ethan guided every person in the wedding party, how to pose, what’s the best angle, how to stand, how to deal with a tired over-smiled face with so much patience and positivity. He made the day so smooth and put me at ease.
Being a designer, I can see how much hard work he’s put into the wedding day and made it looks so effortless and easy. I know the photos will come out amazing. Karis also put in a lot of extra work being Ethan’s assistant throughout the day. Thank you both! -

Nicki Sent on 07/26/2015Ethan and Karis are so talented, it's ridiculous! I saw their work featured on a DC wedding blog, and, right away, I knew that we had to have them photograph our wedding! I convinced my husband to splurge on photography, and it was the best decision we made! Any words I could use to describe EYP's work could never begin to describe how brilliant they are; visit the website and you'll learn all you need to know from even a quick glimpse at their photos! I can say that what attracted me most to Ethan's style of photography was his ability to capture the most candid and emotional moments in a way that is still incredibly artistic and anything but ordinary.
As for Ethan and Karis, they are two of the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful people, and they are so easy to work with! We had engagement photos shot about a year before our wedding, and it was the perfect way to get to know both Ethan and Karis and become comfortable with working in front of the camera. Although a year had passed between the engagement photos and the wedding, it was like no time had passed at all, and we immediately fell into a comfortable rhythm again. They were completely unobtrusive at the wedding, but I noticed one of them was always on hand to capture a laugh or a hug with a friend. They poured a ton of work into our wedding, staying with us until the very end of the evening to take a few photos with just my husband and me, and it was such a special way to end the evening. -
User1904720 Sent on 11/04/2014Ethan and Karis were incredibly warm and professional from start to finish. We had both our engagement and wedding photos taken by him. He is super in demand, but was luckily free the weekend of our wedding.
We are two of the least photogenic people in the world, but Ethan made us feel comfortable and was able to get great shots of us. He was really able to capture the moment and had great ideas regarding backgrounds, outfit choices, etc. On the day of, he was able to efficiently coordinate my family and bridal party to take our portraits. The edited photos we have seen so far are stunning. He was also very flexible given our time constraints. We had an early morning ceremony and afternoon reception, so he used time before, between and after to ensure we had enough pictures.

User1726602 Sent on 07/22/2014Before I even got engaged, I knew that I wanted Ethan Yang to photograph my wedding. I saw the pictures he took for a friend's wedding, and they were so artistic and unlike anything I had seen from other wedding photographers. Ethan truly has a wonderful eye, and knows how to use light in the best way (especially for dim, indoor venues). Aside from his talent, Ethan is also incredibly warm, cheerful, and enthusiastic, which made the photo session on the wedding day fun and quick! Ethan is also a self admitted perfectionist - and he stayed until the very end of the reception so that he could get all of the shots he wanted. As an added bonus, Ethan's wife (and often 2nd shooter) Karis is wonderful as well! -
User1653558 Sent on 06/09/2014There are very few wedding photographers who can capture the emotion, excitement, and experience like Ethan. When looking for a photographer, we were immediately drawn to Ethan’s style, framing, composition, and overall aesthetic (check out his website to see his work!). His ability to see beyond the obvious results in an artistic representation of the entire day.
Where some photographers see obstacles, Ethan sees filters and focal points. Shooting through wine glasses on a table, he gives shots an ethereal halo and using the roof of a car, the photo is grounded against a bright blue arc. The depth of field he’s able to achieve and his use of afternoon sunlight (his favorite!) is impeccable. Each wedding he shoots is unique because he uses his current surroundings, and you’re not left with your typical wedding photo.
We also used EYP for our engagement photos and valued the time not only documenting that part of our story but also getting to know Ethan and Karis. It definitely made a difference when it came to our wedding day. We learned Ethan’s tricks for helping us look natural and grew comfortable in front of the camera. Unfortunately Karis wasn’t able to be at our wedding, but Ethan filled the role with a good friend of his who is also a professional photographer. While we missed Karis greatly, Mark did a wonderful job filling in. As another review said, you don’t even know that Ethan is around. He was able to capture every moment and get up close during our ceremony but not at the expense of our guests, wedding party, or pastor.
We would highly recommend EYP for any bride/groom.
