The BEST of the best!
Carmen did both our engagement photography and our wedding photography, and she is truly the best of the best. My husband is pretty photo shy and was anxious during both the engagement shoot and the various wedding photographs we had to take. Despite this, everything came our beautifully. Carmen is excellent at coaching and posing you so you can get beautiful, natural looking photos that you will love forever. I am so thankful to have worked with her and her team, and she helped put me and my husband at ease. When I’m feeling more confident, she will be my pick for boudoir photography for sure!Carmen did both our engagement photography and our wedding photography, and she is truly the best of the best. Carmen is truly THAT nice and THAT good
The first thing you learn about Carmen, is that Carmen loves love. She is over the moon about how you found each other and how wonderful it is that you are making this next step.
Initially, I thought she might be too nice. I have some obscene groomsmen. Could she hang with my boys while we got ready? Or would we feel like we had to act proper? That question got answered at the engagement photo session. Carmen can hang.
Engagement photos - In general it is a good idea to have an engagement photo session. Think of it as a practice session to build a relationship with your photographer. You don’t want to find out she says “now give me a smile superman” on your wedding day (Carmen doesn’t). We learned that Carmen is extremely patient and very good at describing to you what she is looking for in the shot. We also learned that Carmen has a fun side.
One of Carmen’s best traits is that she has amazing people skills. We decided to take our family photos before the ceremony. In general, the act of taking photos makes people nervous and tense. Now add in the stress of a countdown until the actual ceremony and you have a ticking time bomb. This is where Carmen excels. She took command of the 30 people milling around waiting for their turn. This meant she code switched from respectful, patient tone with the slow grandparents, to a “teacher voice” for dumb groomsmen goofing off, and to a baby voice to get the crying flower girls to smile. That was impressive.
Once the photos were ready, Carmen planed a beautiful reveal party at her studio. She provided wine, cheese, snack food and we watched a slide show of the top photos. We then spent a couple hours designing our wedding album. She took so many amazing photos! The whole time we traded stories about how magical our wedding night was. Not only were her photos amazing but the reveal experience was so much fun.Carmen is truly THAT nice and THAT good

Carmen is a wonderful person through and through, to say the very least. I was traveling to Sacramento to photograph a wedding myself, but the traffic was so horrendous we missed the first hour of getting ready photos. The venue called Carmen last minute and she dropped everything to come save the day for us. She provided me her SD and CF cards without question and without asking for a single thing in return. I have never met such a wonderful, kind hearted, helpful person (especially helpful to a complete stranger) and she is an excellent photographer as well. It was a joy to work with her files and I am so glad our paths crossed, albeit in a less than ideal fashion. I cannot say enough glowing things about what she did for us and the immeasurable peace of mind she provided.

Carmen was, by far, the best decision we made when it came to our wedding. From our first initial call to our engagement photos, the pre-wedding plans and day of photography, she and Kai were the best you could ask for. Carmen Salazar is a master of her craft. She is such a talented photographer and you can tell she truly loves capturing others magical moments. I did not have a videographer and instead was relying solely on the photographer to capture all the special intimate moments of my wedding. I am SO happy I picked Carmen Salazar! Interpersonally, Carmen is such a remarkable person. She is fun, warm, and relaxed! She also was able to pop in and out of special moments without disrupting the occasion, something that is hard to pull off! Furthermore, with Carmen you own all your photos, something that is really important! After the wedding, she digitally uploaded all our wedding photos where they will be stored online for 10 years. We were able to give our friends and family access to the wedding photos so they could download and keep any of the 1000+ pictures that they liked. What a relief not to have to mail out pictures to family after such a draining event as planning a wedding! I highly recommend Carmen!Carmen Salazar is a master of her craft. When looking for wedding photographers, I wanted someone who could really capture the moment of the day and tell a story through photographs. It was my Mom who passed along Carmen's name from a friend and I was thrilled to see the level quality and artistry in her portfolio of work; it was exactly what I was looking for. After speaking with Carmen on the phone I felt very confident that she was the right fit for us and booked her right away. She and her assistant were so wonderful to work with! They were both very warm and thoughtful every step of the way. All of our guests commented on how great they were and enjoyed taking pictures with them. The photographs were one of the most important things for me and I couldn't have been happier with the final shots, they were everything I had wanted and more. Looking through the photos felt like reliving the day all over again, all expressions of happiness, joy and love were captured to perfection. We were sent a link to a page with the photos laid out and organized into sections. We were able to send the link to friends and family to share the images.

Carmen is the best! She has been so helpful and sweet since day one of booking with her. I found Carmen on yelp after researching photographers in Sacramento. I live down south, but was having my wedding in Sacramento so I was a bit nervous doing everything online and over the phone. After reading great reviews about Carmen, and looking at her work I was excited to book her. Carmen also offered any suggestions or help with my wedding planning since I was kind of lost with it. She really is very sweet, and easy to work with. My husband and I were very pleased with her, and her work. We are so excited to see all our pictures! I highly suggest Carmen. Carmen was fantastic!!! My wife and I had such a great time at our wedding and Carmen was such a trooper. Our wedding was completely outdoors and it ran a little hot, +100. Carmen was such a great sport about all of it and had great energy through the entire process and did a fantastic job! We were so happy that we found her.Carmen was fantastic!!! Carmen was our favorite vendor at our wedding! My husband is an excellent amateur photographer and we looked through over 40 wedding photographers in the Bay Area. He picked out Carmen as the best photographer of the bunch, because of her incredible artistic eye and ability to capture the beautiful emotions of her subjects. So many photographers just do run-of-the mill boring photography, but Carmen is truly an artist. She also does not do a lot of strange processing with her images---we like her natural, elegant style. The best part was when we met Carmen in person and realized what a wonderful person she is. She is the type of person that you want as part of your wedding and we plan to stay friends with her. Carmen is very responsive and easy to work with...she takes the time to get to know you as a couple. Hiring Carmen as our photographer was the wisest decision we made! She's a stellar photographer with a great eye for unique shots and all the details. She captured our wedding just the way we wanted and her great attitude and fun-loving spirit were appreciated by the entire bridal party (and our guests). We're still hearing from people just how great she was. We couldn't be happier with our photos (engagement guest book and wedding photos). It was very important to my husband and me to have great photos to remember our wedding day. We are extremely thankful to have found Carmen Salazar! She is a wonderful person to work with… responsive, friendly, helpful and super creative! Our package included so many things; we felt we definitely got our money’s worth. Our wedding photos are so diverse, so we have so many fabulous photos to choose from. We highly recommend Carmen for all future brides and grooms! When we decided to have a destination wedding in Mexico, there was no doubt in my mind that we wanted to take our own photographer from the States with us to photograph our special day. We didn't want to take any chances by going with the onsite photographer the hotel suggested.
I came across Carmen Salazar Photographer at a bridal expo in Sacramento, CA. The minute I saw her work I knew she was the one I wanted to photograph our wedding. She did not disappoint!! Our engagement photos were amazing. We had so much fun that day photographing at a nearby winery and train station. Our Mexico destination wedding photos were even more beautiful. We have been very happy with the services we received from Carmen Salazar.
