We’re Rachel + Mark, a husband-and-wife wedding photography and video team serving Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Placerville, the Bay Area, and beyond.
After documenting more than 250 weddings together, we know how much thoughtful planning can shape the experience of a wedding day—and how important it is to leave room for the unexpected, too. From the moments you’ve been looking forward to for months to the laughter, happy tears, and little in-between moments that happen naturally, we’re there to document it all.
Our approach blends candid storytelling with thoughtful direction, so you never have to wonder what to do in front of the camera, but you also have plenty of space to simply enjoy your wedding. We’ll guide you when you need us, step back when you don’t, and keep things relaxed, fun, and natural throughout the day.

Rachel partnered closely with us to ensure every moment was captured. From the first click to the last, her coverage was incredibly thorough, leaving no detail overlooked. I was lucky enough to join her call with our bride ahead of the wedding and heard how she expertly guided her through shot list development, support in family photo discussions, and made sure she got every portrait on her Pinterest board sorted.
What really set Rachel apart is how comfortable our couple was in her capable hands. My bride and groom are the type of people who usually feel pretty awkward in front of a lens, but Rachel has this magic ability to make the camera disappear. She turned what could have been a stressful part of the day into something they were actually excited about. They went from camera-shy to completely comfortable, and that genuine joy radiated in the final shots.
The photos are, quite simply, outstanding. If you want a photographer who brings both high-level professionalism and a vibe that puts everyone at ease, Rachel is the one.
AMAZING Experience & Photos
Starting with the engagement photo shoot, Rachel was so easy to work with and really helped us with poses and ideas, as my fiancé and I are a bit camera shy. She ventured with us through El Dorado National Forest for our dream snowy photoshoot and even captured some amazing golden hour shots. We were in awe with how much we loved doing a photoshoot!
Our final details meeting before the wedding was easy and quick. Her questionnaire asks all necessary questions and made the process as easy and transparent as possible.
Then comes the wedding day… we warned her & her husband Mark about some family issues and they worked with us to make sure the photo process was as seamless as could be. They were so positive and kind, kept a smile on their face despite some sideways comments from a few family members annoyed with having to take pictures. They were both on time, ready, and offered suggestions on additional poses and additional pictures. The drone shot with everyone was a huge hit with our guests AND worked to get everyone down to the dance floor!! Kudos for the creativity!! Overall, we had the best experience with Rachel & Mark and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Rachel provided sneak peek pictures SO QUICKLY after our wedding and we already fell in love with them. Thank you for everything!
The best vendor I booked during my wedding
Rachel was so skilled at keeping to a timeline, but also excellent at knowing when it’s fine to linger longer to capture a special moment, and made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Because of her, I had the greatest gift of actually being fully present on my wedding day to just soak it all in!! I will forever be thankful that we entrusted this big day to them - book them now, you won’t regret it!

A a wedding professional, I look at professional wedding photography quite often, and believe I know quality work when I see it. When it came time to choose a photographer for my own wedding I REALLY LUCKED OUT when I came across an ad posted by Rachel Fawn. She is 5 out of 5 starts in quality, price, professionalism, creativity, and service. She was able to anticipate our needs, and make room in her schedule for extra hours on the day of. She had great suggestions for photos, and choreographed everything perfectly, yet it was like she was a very lovely fly on the wall. She was patient and flexible with the requests of our guest. She communicated with us very effectively ahead of time, in the moment, and after the event. There was never a moment when we had to wonder what her next step was. She was very organized and professional. Rachel was more than prompt in delivering the stunning photos after the wedding. When we received the photos we were more than thrilled. They were BEAUTIFUL. My uncle, who is a retired professional wedding photographer was complaining about how difficult it was to photograph anything in the lighting at our wedding.
