My husband and I spent our 35th anniversary weekend renewing our vows at Shulin Lake Resort, and Weddings by Shulin made the entire experience feel beautifully thought out. From the moment we arrived, Valerie and Jason treated us and our guests like family, taking care of everything—including arranging transportation to and from the resort—so we could focus on celebrating together. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable and perfect for our whole group. Everyone had space to relax, unwind, and enjoy the peaceful lakeside setting. Throughout the weekend, we were treated to wonderful meals that our guests are still raving about—fresh, delicious, and artfully prepared. We also loved the variety of activities around the resort. We boated and fished on the lake, attempted gold panning, and thoroughly enjoyed the putting green and golf simulator. And after days full of laughter and play, relaxing in the sauna or reminiscing around the fire pit were the perfect ways to wind down. Our vow renewal ceremony overlooking the lake was simply beautiful. The natural setting, paired with simple yet elegant décor, created an atmosphere that felt both intimate and deeply meaningful. The reception that followed had the same warmth—cozy, inviting, and filled with love as we spent time with our family and closest friends. What touched me most was how thoughtful they were with every single detail of the weekend. Nothing felt rushed and everything felt personal, relaxed, and centered around what mattered most to us. For anyone looking for a heartfelt, well-planned celebration in a beautiful lakeside setting—with activities, comfort, incredible food, and hospitality woven into every moment—I highly recommend Weddings by Shulin and Shulin Lake Resort. It was everything we hoped for and more.

The lodge is very helpful and so Alaskan! The lodge is beautiful and the food is wonderful. The staff helps with the planning making it stress free and smooth planning.

Stayed here for my honeymoon night I have to say money well spent stayed on the 10th floor the view was incredible the hotel was quiet and relaxing and they left a handwritten note congratulating my new husband and I. It seemed like the whole hotel knew we were newlyweds and treated us like V.I.P's the night was unforgettable.

We got married here in July 2019 and it was absolutely incredible! I’d visited several other venues, but when I came to check Majestic Valley Lodge out, I fell in love with the mountains and the gorgeous, log lodge. We’re both from Alaska and wanted our wedding to be a beautiful, special event, but also have that relaxed feel of an Alaskan, summer party with all our closest friends. We got exactly that! The food was great, they sourced the exact beers/cider we requested, and the staff is lovely. Mike was great about working with us to iron out all the details! Definitely recommend!

I cannot recommend The Inn at Tern Lake in Moose Pass, AK, enough! They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning, their team was incredibly responsive, clear in setting expectations, and immensely helpful in finding top-notch vendors. For our rehearsal dinner, they took care of everything—setting up tables, plates, and more—ensuring it all looked amazing. The morning of the wedding, they provided a delicious breakfast for the wedding party, expertly set up all the ceremony chairs, and prepared the most incredible wedding food I’ve ever tasted. Truly, every bite was unforgettable! What’s even more impressive is the extra effort they put into making our day flawless. They even chopped down a tree to improve the mountain view for our ceremony—talk about dedication! The team’s kindness, efficiency, and attention to detail were unmatched. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them. If you’re considering hosting any event here, do it! I’d give them 10,000/10 and hire them again in a heartbeat. Deciding to go ahead with our destination wedding during a pandemic was probably the craziest thing ever. Bret and Caleb were by our side the whole way. Open to whatever we needed. Besides am amazing locating in the wood and on the river the owner and his team became our family. I’m so glad we met Bret and his wife Nancy. Their log cabin provided an amazing backdrop to our 5 day wedding celebrations and will be our friends for life. Already planning anniversary trip next summer.

We were fortunate enough to have one of the first weddings at Turnagain View Lodge. We thought it would rain but the weather turned out perfect. The two huge tents were perfect for our small-medium sized wedding and we could have easily had twice as many guests with that much room. The pictures we took with the inlet and mountains in the background were excellent memories. After the wedding, the younger guests say around the outdoor fire pit and the older guests talked around the table inside the beautiful lodge. I highly recommend this venue!

We booked Heavenly Lodge for a wedding venue, and I can’t say enough about how happy we are about it! The lodge and the grounds are beautiful. Cooper Landing is one of our favorite places. You’re near the turquoise Kenai river and Kenai Lake (world-class fishing, hiking, rafting, drift boating, birding!). The lodge is private, up off the highway, and has a big awesome kitchen. As a wedding venue, Heavenly Lodge provides lots of flexibility and opportunity. There is a whole host of vendors that have serviced weddings there before, so you can make things easy and go with them, or you can do your own thing. You can find ways to save money because you’re not required to hire anyone else here. It was also really important to us to be able to spend a few days with family and friends so that we didn’t just have one overwhelming day of happiness that goes by in a blur. Having a private lodge-setting, allowed us to spend time with all of our family and friends several days before and after the wedding and draw out the good times! We also booked an extra day before the wedding so we could start prepping, which I would highly recommend. Maybe most importantly, using Heavenly Lodge as a wedding venue meant we got Katy and Brian Borchers on our team! Katy and Brian (the Heavenly Lodge caretakers) are just wonderful to work with (and in general). They’re excellent communicators, answering every little question we had from the moment we booked with them. They’re very experienced at helping with weddings so they know what works, what things to watch for, but in a way where it’s comfortable to express your own vision for the day. They’re very professional and also realistic about what it means to bring a group of people to a lodge for big party!

What a great venue! Everyone was thrilled :) A bit more ceremony communication with the coordinator would have been helpful (my poor fiancé thought I wasn’t showing up due to a time glitch issue lol!) but it was beautiful and the coordinator Corrine went out of her way to be helpful and talk to and suggest vendors. We can highly recommend the whole team and venue :)
