What is the story behind Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge?
Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge is a family-owned mountain lodge in Glacier View, Alaska, about 2½ hours from Anchorage on the Glenn Highway and minutes from the Matanuska Glacier. Couples say their vows on our lawn with the Chugach Mountains behind them, and the whole wedding party can stay on site for the weekend.
The ceremony. Most ceremonies take place on the lawn under our 7'x7' wedding arbor, with electrical outlets nearby for music. Tents can be rented from local vendors, and our hand-scribed log Grand Lodge makes a beautiful indoor backup if the weather turns.
The reception. The Grand Lodge dining room and lounge seat up to 100 guests, with extra seating on the covered porch in summer. Our in-house kitchen serves plated or buffet menus (buffet is recommended for more than 50 guests), and our full bar pours craft cocktails and a selection of high-end Scotch whisky. After dinner, our team turns the dining room into a dance floor with room for a band or DJ.
Stay the weekend. The lodge sleeps up to 60 guests in 21 renovated and newly built rooms and cabins: 8 Adventure Lodge rooms, 7 Grand Lodge rooms, the Coyote and Grizzly cabins, and the 4-bedroom Moose Chalet. For larger groups, Little Bear Guest Cabins, Tundra Rose Guest Cottages, Homestead Guest Cabins, Sheep Mountain Lodge, Long Rifle Lodge and Eureka Lodge are all 2 to 20 miles away. RV camping (electric only) is available in our lot, tent camping on the lawn, and full RV hookups at Grand View, 6 miles down the road.
The extras. Between events, guests can hike, take a glacier tour, play lawn and board games, soak in the hot tub and gather around the bonfire pit. Our staff speak English, German and Spanish, and every room has free fiber-optic internet. We host weddings from Memorial Day weekend through the weekend after Labor Day.

Gorgeous Alaskan Venue
We’re both from Alaska and wanted our wedding to be a beautiful, special event, but also have that relaxed feel of an Alaskan, summer party with all our closest friends. We got exactly that!
The food was great, they sourced the exact beers/cider we requested, and the staff is lovely. Mike was great about working with us to iron out all the details! Definitely recommend!
