One of a kind!
Meier lake cancelled our wedding
We hadn’t received a confirmation about our 2022 date for a few months so we decided to drive by the venue. When we arrived and asked about our wedding (and showed our contract), the new management spent the first several minutes complaining about how the old management messed a lot of things up, to which we were told we need to sign a new contract. After that, we went back and forth for several months to finalize and transition to the new one. We were making progress and about to sign the new contract when, out of the blue - we received an email from them saying that they had “made the difficult decision of indefinitely postponing our wedding”. They claimed we were “disrespecting them” and not responding back quick enough, but not once during any of our (up until then quite cordial) communications did they mention any of these issues - they just decided to cancel our wedding without any prior notice and were very rude about how they handled it. We responded with confusion and asked to have a phone call, as we figured the email must be a mistake or there was some misunderstanding. However, they refused to speak with us on the phone again and sent a longer email again accusing us of being disrespectful and unprofessional.
The venue itself is very beautiful, but we had a terrible experience with the new management and were left with less than 6 months to find ourselves a new venue. Luckily, we still ended up having an amazing wedding in Alaska with no further trouble or drama with any other vendor or our new venue.
