HIRING ALEX/WILLOW & IVY WAS THE BEST DECISION WE COULD HAVE MADE!!!

I wish I could give Alex and her team 87478327846382746 stars, truly!!! From the moment I started working with Alex, I knew everything was going to go flawlessly at our wedding (even if it didn't I had complete confidence that Alex would figure it out - and she did)! Our wedding was a relatively large sized with countless intricate details and not to mention, every part of the wedding took place at a different place at the venue - Alex executed my vision as if she was planning her own wedding, I couldn't believe it. I remember looking at mock ups and talking through theoretically what everything was going to look like and how it would come together, but the actual day of the wedding was of course the first time seeing it all together, I was blown away. Although several vendors are a part of the final vision (florist, party rentals/decor, catering, etc.), Alex was the one that ensured it all came together exactly how I wanted it to, it was seriously one of my favorite parts of the day.

You can tell that Alex not only cares about your wedding, but she cares about you personally as well. She was so friendly and FUN to work with, I always looked forward to our calls and meetings to go over everything. She never missed a beat on the things that still needed to get done all the while ensuring my finance felt involved and included in the planning too, which meant so much to us. She even came out with us to our food and drink tasting and talked with our caterers regarding things on the food and how it would be served, she just always was advocating for us which is honestly so priceless when you're planning a wedding with so many people and places involved. She will go above and beyond for her couples and is so ingrained in the industry that her knowledge alone is unmatched.

If you're contemplating hiring a planner, I can say with wholeheartedness that you will not regret working with Alex and her team at Willow & Ivy, it's worth everything and more and my advice to any future brides is not only to hire a planner, but to hire Alex!!! It was such a great experience working with Alex for our Wedding. She has amazing talent for design and really helped bring our vision to life. Oh man, where do I even begin! When I first got engaged, I knew I wanted a wedding planner because my life is very chaotic and I knew absolutely nothing about wedding planning. I started my search online and had a couple interviews with planners around Seattle. While every planner I met was very nice, the second I met Alex I knew she was the one. She is so funny, nice, personable and most importantly, extremely professional! Throughout the entire 13 month engagement/planning time, Alex was frequently reaching out to me and ensuring we had all the essential details (some of which I would have never even thought of if I was planning this on my own) ironed out. Not only does she ensure you have all your bases covered, but she truly LISTENS to your opinions and works tirelessly to ensure you get the wedding of your dreams. Even with weird ideas (for example at one point I thought I wanted to bring in chandeliers), Alex would reach out to every vendor she knew and would scour Instagram looking for potential new vendors and create a list of every option available so I could make every dream a reality. I remember throughout the entire wedding process people would continually say “oh you must be so stressed out with wedding planning” and I can honestly say there was not one part of the planning that caused me any stress or anxiety because Alex was always 10 steps ahead of me. It also wasn’t just me who noticed how great she was, but vendors rave about her as well. My photographer (who had never even met Alex) said this in one of the emails…
“She did such a good job putting everything together and I cannot tell you how excited that gets me! Because a good timeline means I can do my best work. I just wanted you to know she is killing it!”
My wedding happened to be right in the middle of the coronavirus chaos. We were extremely lucky because our wedding was right before they essentially shut the city down. Despite such a crazy time, Alex was always my rock. We had guests canceling left and right, the restaurant for rehearsal closed permanently 2 days before and new laws surrounding events were being rolled out almost daily. But Alex was there to handle every new twist and turn with ease and I can honestly say I had the wedding I have always dreamed about. Now, as other friends get engaged, I always tell them that the best wedding money you will spend is on a wedding planner because she made the entire process fun and easy, which is how it should be! Alex was truly my saving grace and if you have any party/wedding, she is truly the best of the best!

Alex is the best! She made wedding planning stress-free and floored us with how elegant and organized everything was day of. She's fantastic at presenting enough options and the pros and cons of each that you feel informed, without overwhelming you AND is insanely responsive! Cannot recommend her enough!

We worked with Alex for one month for our June 2019 wedding. After interviewing several different day/month-of coordinators, Alex was the easiest decision to make in our wedding planning process. During her month-of service, Alex was easy to work with, consistently responsive to our emails and texts, and left us with a sense of confidence as we finalized our wedding plans. She was friendly and gave her honest advice with questions and concerns that we had. Alex was also great when working with our bridal party and family. She gave precise directions and left everyone feeling prepared for the wedding. It was also wonderful that she handled the decorations for us the week prior to our wedding. This gave my husband and I peace of mind in the final week of planning.
On our wedding day, Alex and her team made our wedding perfect. Every little detail was accounted for, and any questions or problems I had were immediately handled by her and her team. She was professional when working with our other vendors, and allowed us to truly enjoy a stress-free wedding day. I highly recommend Alex as a wedding coordinator.

We worked with Alex for 9 months to plan our wedding on July 27, 2019. As a couple planning a wedding across the country, from the East Coast to Seattle, we interviewed quite a few wedding planners we felt like we could fully trust. Upon first speaking with Alex, she gave us a reliable yet approachable vibe with great rates so we decided to work with Willow and Ivy Events.

Planning a wedding, especially from afar, is not an easy task but Alex made it really seamless for us. She was super detail oriented and really focused hard on what we wanted while staying within our overall budget. She seemed to have a lot of connections with great vendors in the industry. We loved all our vendors Alex recommended! When I had difficulty finding a makeup artist and had extremely specific requirements, she did not make me feel like a bridezilla and tried her best to accommodate my needs. We would have been 100x more stressed out without Alex helping us plan. We were stress-free during most of our planning process!
She was flexible with last minute changes – from bridesmaid leaving to adding last minute speeches. We didn’t even have to worry about our table settings since Alex tied all the ribbons on the utensils for us.

The wedding day was perfect, and our parents who are extremely picky praised the wedding and said that everything was perfect, without even one minor flaw. We were able to enjoy the wedding without worrying about schedules and details because Alex and her assistant were there to lead the whole day. Selecting a planner when you’re already opinionated and have multiple Pinterest boards running, can be overwhelming and stressful :) Letting go of control was easy with Alex, as she demonstrates a confidence and competency that is both settling and inspiring. Out of the gate, Alex worked diligently to level set our expectations with hers, ensuring we worked together for the same goal. While this may seem insignificant, the duration of our time together proved otherwise, with the whole process being more in sync: from communication frequency and style, to timeline, budget, and contingency plans.

As I’m sure is the case for most couples, we wanted to a planner who would feel comfortable “managing” many personalities and not get trampled over during the chaos of the big day. Alex stood strong, commanding attention and respect, making sure our needs/wishes were respected and heard. With that said, Alex is willing to lend a different opinion if she thinks it will benefit the couple. Our wedding was not her first Rodeo, and it shows. She anticipates with skilled precision. Did I mention she’s cute as a button? We loved working with Alex, and know you will too! Great value for quality expertise!

Willow and Ivy Events is incredibly organized and made our wedding go as smoothly as possible. Not only is Alex a great planner, but she has become one of our good friends throughout the process. We truly would not have been able to have had as wonderful of a wedding without Alex and her team at Willow and Ivy Events! One of the biggest decisions in the wedding planning process, especially in Washington DC, is choosing the right planner.
