I attempted to order my wedding day bracelet and a pair of costume earrings for formal occasions from their website www.whitedovebridal.com on 8/25/09. Their website has a nice feature than asks that you confirm your wedding date (9/19/09) and when you need your items by (9/12/09). I received a confirmation email of my order and all the same information, so I figured I didn't have to worry about it and focused on other wedding planning.
Sept 16th, I realized I hadn't received my order and so I called during business hours, but only the answering machine picked up. I left a message stating that if I couldn't get my items by Thursday or even the day before the wedding, then I wanted to cancel my order. I left my order number an my phone number to call back. The next morning at 10am, I received an email stating "We thought you'd like to know that this order has now been despatched." (yes, with the misspelling) I was surprised that they didn't call me back to confirm anything with me. So I called them around noon - this time a man answered and I asked him what day I would be receiving my order. He told me I would receive it on 9/19! ON my wedding day??? I told him that wasn't acceptable as I would be gone for my wedding by the time it came! So I cancelled the bracelet, but had him send the earrings anyway. What a mistake. Note that supposedly my order had already been dispatched 2 hours ago according to the email.
My mom did confirm that the earrings came to me in the mail on 9/19 - but I was gone on my honeymoon for the next week. When I came back, I still hadn't received a refund for the bracelet I cancelled, so I called on 9/28. They did apologize for that and refunded me right away. But they made a mistake and refunded me for full amount of all items.
In the meantime, I checked the earrings and realized I didn't like the earrings as much as I did online, but they have a ridiculous return policy of 7 days (which clearly I couldn't conform to since they sent the item on my wedding day and I was thereafter on my honeymoon for 7 days) AND they have to APPROVE your return (read here: http://www.whitedovebridal.com/Files/returns_exchanges.htm).
White Dove emailed me right away asking me to return the extra money they accidentally sent me. I did the right thing, and obliged. I took this opportunity to ask them if they would approve a refund for the earrings due to the fact that they were late getting the item to me in the first place. I have yet to hear anything from them to this day. It seems they are only responsive when it benefits them.
They couldn't process my original order correctly, they couldn't process the refund correctly, and they have awful communication. Do NOT buy from them!!!!!!!
