We met Vanessa and her husband, Seth, at the Santa Barbara Bridal Expo. We chose Vanessa based her outgoing personality, the detail and feel of her photography, the options available in owning the digital photos, and a friend's review (whom we saw pictures of in Vanessa's portfolio). We booked in January for an August wedding, with full day coverage, two photographers, and an engagement shoot. Also originally we also requested an additional hour for coverage of a tea ceremony.

Vanessa shot our engagement session in April, and gave us suggestions of where to shoot. We included our dog in our pictures. We met and shot at a park in Montecito that she had suggested, which was perfect with a lot of vegetation and scenery, amazing in the dry weather we've been having. She kept the atmosphere fun and relaxing, while encouraging us to "do our own thing". Vanessa had great suggestions for poses from previous experience. Although some of the poses felt awkward, they turned out amazing. It was very easy to take photos with her because time flies by and not too many poses are held.

On the day of the wedding, Vanessa and Seth took pictures of the venue and picked out places for our first looks, one with the bride and her parents and the other between the two of us. While we were getting ready Seth took pictures of the groom and his close friends, while Vanessa took pictures of the bride and her friends. They took photos that were candid and a few posed shots during the preparation period. They were both were discrete and captured the moments as they happened spontaneously. Both photographers knew exactly how to organize while keeping the session spontaneous, and the pictures certainly reflect that.

Vanessa and Seth captured so many moments we had missed during the wedding especially during the dinner and dance. We are so grateful they were able to show us moments we missed on the day of, and will remember fondly for years to come.
