In 2001 Chef/Restaurateur Matt Gordon joined to create a banquet team featuring catered culinary experiences from the beloved San Diego eatery, Urban Solace in Northpark. At Urban Solace Catering, our goal is to provide unforgettable experiences through the power of food to nourish your palette, mind, body, and soul. At Urban Solace Catering, thanks to Executive Chef James Clark and visionary Chef Matt Gordon, our menus feature global flavors with some distinct culinary twists.
Farm fresh and handcrafted, our food is prepared with love and delivered with excellence. We offer an array of menus including tray passed appetizers and hors d’oeuvres, chef stations, buffet and plated meals. Menu selections can be modified to accommodate dietary preferences or restrictions.
Our wedding specialists can help you plan more than just your reception. Urban Solace Catering can assist from beginning to end, with coordination of your bridal shower, engagement party, bachelor/bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and/or wedding brunch. Every ingredient in every dish on our menu is of the absolute highest caliber, artisan crafted and locally sourced wherever possible.

Lisa Richards has made a name for herself in the catering industry with her strong will to succeed and charismatic, pragmatic personality. She has experience in everything from the start-up to the wind-down and a particular passion for sales, marketing and sensible growth of companies. Lisa also has a gift for cultivating long-standing relationships with her clients, who have helped her develop a network of referrals.
With small beginnings as a San Diego picnic caterer, Lisa developed her other companies—Picnic People and Festivities Catering and Events—into the multi-million-dollar family-owned businesses they are today. She truly loves using her creative, big picture-focused mind to help clients achieve the events of their dreams.
In her free time, Lisa loves to spend time with her husband and four poodles in their Montana vacation home. She enjoys cross-country skiing and snuggling by warm fireplaces on cold winter nights.
Gina Mizrahi's culinary inspiration comes from her grandmother. She has a passion for Mediterranean cuisine and loves the bold flavors of Urban Solace's braised short ribs and citrus salmon. Gina's adventurous spirit has led her to try fried scorpions. Her greatest success is her passion for the catering world and dancing on Broadway.
