Owner Scott's journey as a pizza chef began in his home kitchen over 25 years ago, experimenting with dough recipes in his standard oven. After lots of trial and error, he discovered that a wood-fired oven was the true recipe to pizza dough success, purchasing his first one in 2003. After receiving fantastic reviews from loved ones, Scott became inspired to take his pizza kitchen on the road, and so Inferno WoodFired Kitchen was born.

Amazing food!

We hired Inferno to cater our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! Weddings are known for having not the best food so we knew when we were planning our big day we wanted our guests to leave with full and satisfied stomachs. We loved the idea of serving pizza and the buffet style. Every single item that was served that day was unbelievably delicious! Every time we talk to one of our guests they always mention how good the food was!

Scott was so amazing to work with as well. He was so fun and so accommodating to our requests. He even made us pizzas to take home with us at the end of the night which we both enjoyed immensely when we got back to our hotel.

The food and service were phenomenal!

Lol my hubby and I love pizza and we couldn’t think of a better food to serve at our wedding! It’s been two months and people are still talking about that pizza! Haha win win, we had salad pasta appetizers and pizzas galore. I only wish I had eaten more than two slices. My only regret is not getting our personal pizza for the room later because I was starving lol. But Scott is such a cool guy and they were so professional and kind!!!

Scott founded Inferno in 2013, he has a passion for exceptional food and delighting his guests.

Scotts story began more than 25 years ago in his home kitchen using pizza stones in the oven. I always had a plan to make great pizza at home, and the pizza we made was really good, but I couldn't get exactly the result I was looking for. I realized that our home oven was not capable of getting hot enough for an amazing crust, something called "oven spring" where the high heat caused the dough to rise quickly and a with a quicker cooking time, the outside is crispy and the inside or crumb of the crust is flaky, chewy and soft.

Through some trial and error, I was able to perfect my dough recipe and hone my pizza making skills. Today we have refined our dough making down to an exact science, adjusting little things for weather changes in humidity and outside temperature.

The real game changer came when I decided to build a wood fired oven in our backyard in 2003. The first pizza that we cooked in there changed everything! We couldn't believe the amazing taste and texture of the thin and crispy yet fluffy crust. The wood fired oven can rise to the proper high temperature needed, just exceeding 900 degrees which is essential to create the perfect pizza. My family and I expanded our repertoire by experimenting with different sauces and toppings. We constantly had all of our friends and neighbors over for pizza parties just so we could make a ton of pizza! I mean who doesn't love a tasty pizza?!

We received great reviews from our family and friends, so we decided to take our show on the road! We now serve our wood fired creations throughout San Diego County and south Orange and Riverside counties as well. We travel with our awesome mobile WoodFired Restaurant quality Kitchens to your location. You'll find us all over San Diego at Weddings, Wineries, breweries, sporting events, Private Parties, Apartment Complexes, and local business parks and festivals.

Our pizza and breads are one-of-a-kind. We make our dough fresh daily, and then let it cold proof for at least two days to get that perfect flavor and texture. We use the freshest ingredients available in everything we serve, starting with our imported Italian Caputo "00" flour and our award winning Bianco Di Napoli Tomatoes from Los Gatos California. We are proud to offer not only pizzas, but artisan breads, and pasta dishes as well as some great salads and appetizers. Check out our menu to see what we're serving up lately.
