The Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain is an event and wedding venue just 16 miles southeast of Asheville, NC. Here you will find 75 acres of land that sits on the ridge of the eastern continental divide of the United States, symbolic of two separate halves coming together. Mature poplar trees span the incredibly private, secluded property. Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains surround you. Available for weddings and other events including reunions, birthday celebrations, family gatherings and holiday parties. The venue is suited for parties up to 75 guests. The private property offers multiple acres for nature walks and exploring, including 2 different off-site hiking trails right on Bearwallow Mountain. Utilize The Pavilion and enjoy an extended weekend with your family and friends playing corn hole and pickle ball. An ideal place to relax, rejuvenate and reunite before and during your celebration. Includes access to Bearwallow Cottage, Bearwallow Retreat, The Pavilion and The Grounds.
Extended Stay Weekend Wedding Experience
Our extended stay weekend wedding experience includes accommodations on the property for 28, extended access to your venue, use of the site for rehearsal and/or dinner at no additional cost, lodging for bridal party or other guests, additional time for rental deliveries, rental returns and additional photography time. Guaranteed to be the only wedding/event on the 75 acre property during your booking. A venue host present during your event, parking and a parking attendent as needed as well as tables and chairs for up to 75 guests are all included in our experience. The Poplars includes 4 unique spaces, allowing both an indoor and outdoor experience for your event. The Grounds is an ideal outdoor location for wedding ceremonies to take place as it is naturally shaded with large trees. The covered 1600 square foot event Pavilion was built because there have been multiple requests to host a wedding on the property despite any advertisement! It provides an indoor open air option for receptions as well as a backup plan in case of inclement weather. The space is equipped with electricity, lights, a sound system with blue tooth, speakers with receiver and water access. Two large homes: Bearwallow Retreat and Bearwallow Cottage are utilized as separate spaces for the bride and groom to get ready prior to saying "I do". Both homes have large covered decks with hot tubs, gas grills, fire pits, fully equipped kitchens and laundry spaces. Pricing for our extended stay weekend wedding experience varies depending upon time of year- ranging from approximately $7,500- $10,500.
The natural beauty of the poplar trees and the breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains provide a blank canvas for you to create and execute your own unique wedding vision. You are welcome to use your choice of vendors in the area, though we do have a list of recommendations if you would like some direction. Tours of the property are by appointment only. Please contact our events director for information regarding availability and to schedule a tour!

My husband and I just had our wedding at their amazing venue! It was perfect! Spectacularly beautiful! Alan and Anne worked with us every step of the way and were such great hosts! The house is spacious and clean. We had plenty of room for our whole bridal party. There’s great hiking right off the property, but the property itself has gorgeous views of the mountains! I 100% recommend their cabin for events, wedding, weekend get aways, and personal retreats!Sent on 12/02/2019

The perfect wedding experience
Words can not even describe how wonderful and what an absolute godsend The Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain was as a wedding venue and accommodations for both my family and my in-laws. Planning a wedding during Covid was a nightmare and I found The Poplars after having one wedding venue cancelled on me (less than 2 months before the wedding). I couldn’t be more happy about the last minute changes. The events director, Kristen, was so helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. I had been left hanging several times with the previous venue, so that was extremely appreciated. When we were there for the event both the owner, Alan, and Kristen were extremely helpful and bent over backwards to make it a wonderful experience for all of us. Both for the wedding day itself as well as the week that we stayed on the property. The two houses on the property are absolutely beautiful and the pavilion was exactly we wanted: an area big enough to have food and dancing as well as tables to sit and eat. I really couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. While I don’t recommend starting from scratch less than months before your wedding, I do highly recommend booking The Poplars :) It was worth all the last minute stress. Not only was it significantly cheaper than any other venue I looked at, it has beautiful views from the venue and both accommodations.Sent on 03/20/2021

This venue was perfect for our intimate ceremony. The adventurous drive up the mountain is rewarded by breathtaking views and a tranquil privacy that you wouldn’t be able to find at most venues. We enjoyed having the days before the ceremony to spend time with our families in the beautiful cottages and prepare for the big day. I’d also like to mention that the owner is very accommodating and the events director Kristen is so helpful and thorough!Sent on 09/03/2020
