History
This iconic hotel was first opened by Lucien and Rosalie Phillips in 1919, more than a century ago. The brick building as it is seen today dates back to 1937, with an additional structure known as the Annex being constructed to the rear in 1975. The hotel has since undergone various meticulous renovations to stay up to date with current trends and innovations. This, however, has not stopped the hotel’s team from embracing its past. Several original installations are still in use today, seamlessly integrated into its more modern appearance. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Location
The hotel is situated just outside of the city of Asheville and its various attractions. If you have loved ones flying in from outside of the state, they can travel to your wedding venue from Asheville Regional Airport in just 30 minutes. After your wedding, you and your loved ones can explore everything that the Black Mountains have to offer, from white water rafting and horse riding.
