Two spaces are available for your wedding ceremony or reception. The ballroom is a classic space with stunning architectural features. The French arched doorways lead you and up to 500 guests to the outdoor patio space. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring ample light in, allowing the space to glow. The two-level Grand Ballroom also provides a great amount of space for the most cosmopolitan of parties. Picturesque views await your guests from the balcony level. The entire room has a sophisticated ambiance and radiates elegance. The Metropolitan also has a classic white tent that can be used for outdoor garden receptions.
An event planner will bring your wedding vision to life at The Metropolitan. With their help, the setup and cleanup are in the hands of their staff, not your friends or family. The event rentals you select will be set up after you exit your luxurious bridal suite. Lighting and sound are provided for the entertainment of your choice.
The catering menu provides dishes that guests from all over will enjoy. Butler service will provide both hot and cold hor d'oeuvres during your cocktail reception. You’ll have the choice from options like gloucester crab cakes, grilled asparagus, or Thai chicken satay. Choose from Italian dishes like eggplant rollatini or Asian moo shoo pork. Specialty stations like mashed potato bars and beef brisket displays will satisfy the pickiest of eaters. Whatever dining style you prefer, buffet, family, or plated, can be prepared. Hidden gem on the north shore!
After attending a wedding at The Metropolitan before our wedding, we knew this place was a wonderful option. After visiting various venues, we always went back to The Metropolitan. John was amazing to work with from start to finish. He made us feel like family. Our favorite feature was that it was one event per day. The day of the wedding, Gail, John and our bridal attendant were phenomenal. They made sure that we ate (very important for us, especially since the food is DELICIOUS), had a drink, and danced. The Hidden Gem of Long Island Venues!
If there is one catering hall on Long Island that is overlooked, it is The Metropolitan in Glen Cove, but it shouldn’t be. Everyone should check out this place before choosing your wedding venue. This single-event venue has style, elegance and is reasonably priced. The building has unique architectural characteristics that combine a classic and modern feel, great for on-site ceremonies and photographic moments. The staff, in particular the Director John Casale, was endlessly accommodating from the first tour to the day after the wedding. He had answers and suggestions for every question and concern we had leading up to the big day. The food by far is the best we have eaten at a Long Island affair and our guests cannot stop raving about it! Breath of Fresh Air
The Metropolitan was the closest to perfection you can get. I was originally booked with a different venue and chose to cancel due to some management issues. When I met John he was a breath of fresh air. He was so good I thought he was too good to be true but let me tell you, he’s the real deal. I loved working with him and everything was so convenient. My guests were raving about the food and abundance of it all night. I’ve even had comments of it being the best food they’ve ever had. My maitre’d, Barbara was on it!! She coordinated everything and all of my things that I brought with me to set up beautifully. Maritza was my bridal attendant. She was with me the majority of the time but went missing once in a while when I could’ve used help but nothing crazy.Sent on 02/08/2019
