Museum Wedding Venues in Long Island

My husband and I were looking for a non traditional venue, we wanted our guests to be able to walk around and see more than another reception hall. With the Cradle of Aviation we found it. Our guests loved the cocktail hour walking around the exhibits with food from Philip Stone Caterers placed strategically to encourage people to wander. John from Philip Stone Caterers was amazing, he helped us think of everything and ensured the day ran smoothly. We received compliments on how well organized it all was and that was thanks to John's coordination before and during the day. The staff at the Cradle of Aviation was amazing, the day of they allowed us to use a conference room for the bridal party to get ready in. We had signature cocktails as well as an open bar, the bar tender mixed the signature cocktails individually which you don't normally expect. Several guests were impressed with the bar tender and the various drinks they requested. The food was incredible, almost a month later we are still receiving compliments on the food and wait staff from Philip Stone. We had guests ask the wait staff during the cocktail hour if there was dinner following because there was so much food to go around. Our guests loved how every time the wait staff went to serve a table they came out perfectly lined up and the entire table was served at once, the orders were always correct. John and his staff had amazing attention to detail, it made our day so special and was more than what we ever though it could be.

The American Airpower Museum is an incredible place, with such a unique backdrop for any event. My husband and I celebrated our wedding there in June with over 300 guests, and not only was it spacious (I mean, they fit a LOT of AIRPLANES in there!) but it was so special to have a museum to ourselves for the night, with the freedom to decorate it and choose our vendors, not to mention the volunteers who gave our guests mini tours throughout the night. Our guests are still talking about it almost a year later, as if it happened yesterday. We had a lot of children attend our wedding, and the museum offered something for everyone, with hands on displays for the younger guests, and elegant, awe-inspiring aircraft to sip cocktails (or shirley temples) around. I know brides & grooms are always a bit biased about their wedding day (as they should be!), but seriously, the American Airpower Museum is a totally AWESOME place to have a party. Larry was so great to work with and made the space rental and planning process so smooth. Best. Day. Ever.

We had the absolute joy of working with Tiffany, Debbie, and Elizabeth for our wedding at the Vanderbilt, and from start to finish the experience was incredible. We first got engaged at the Vanderbilt, and the team went above and beyond to make it special right from the beginning — arranging a private visit and even a custom planetarium show complete with fake tickets and security support to help us navigate the estate. That magical experience set the tone, and it was an easy decision to host our wedding here. Throughout our two-year engagement, the team was consistently supportive, welcoming us for multiple site visits and making sure we felt comfortable and confident in our plans. They provided us with a fantastic list of preferred vendors, many of whom we chose to work with, and all of whom were extremely professional (Bleu Sparrow, Hometown Flower Co, Abigail Kirsch, Don Hwang). While the venue doesn’t have certain amenities (like a full kitchen), with the right vendors everything came together seamlessly. On the day itself, the Vanderbilt team truly shined — the staff, tour guides, and security were all so gracious and helpful. Security went the extra mile to shuttle guests and vendors around the estate in golf carts, and the on-site team leaned in to make sure everything flowed smoothly. Our guests could not stop raving about the setting — from the breathtaking lawn ceremony overlooking the bay, to cocktail hour in the courtyard, to a stunning reception under the tent. The estate’s beauty and history made for an unforgettable backdrop. The only consideration for couples is that events can’t begin until after 5pm (since the museum is open to the public during the day) and music must wrap by 10:30pm due to the town’s noise ordinance. That said, everything else about the experience was absolutely flawless, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We are so grateful to the Vanderbilt team for helping us create the wedding of our dreams. They're the kindest people you'll work with!
