Smooches and Sunsets

The beauty of our wedding was only surpassed by the beauty of the amazing daily sunsets our family caught at the top of the resort;s property. The staff was delightful to work with and the Manor was so comfortable for our guests.

Our Destination Wedding

We are DC residents and loved the ability to have a destination wedding without having to put family on a plane. We rented the entire property, had pool party on Friday, reception on Saturday and farewell brunch on Sunday. It was nice to give the two sides of the family so much time to bond. Cliff, Gary, Brenda and Maikin couldn’t have been more accommodating.

Horrible experience booking our wedding venue

“I had a distressing experience while trying to book my wedding at this venue, which I feel compelled to share. My interaction started during a time of transition for the property, as it was being sold to a new owner. After discussing details and signing my original contract with an employee who was later let go, I received a new contract that was vague and lacked clarity.

Despite being initially promised various amenities and packages over the phone, it soon became evident that the staff and the still owner, Clifton, were not being forthright about what was included. When I attempted to formally withdraw from the contract within the grace period of 14 days, the response I received was unexpectedly aggressive. I was threatened with losing my deposit and potential legal action, accompanied by rude emails from Clifton.

Fortunately, I paid with a credit card, which allowed me to contest the charges, but the process took several months and was quite frustrating. I urge anyone considering this venue to proceed with caution, ensure you fully understand your contract, and read all google reviews, there are horror histories there.

Shady Behavior (Cliff Thomas)

I'll try to keep this as short as I can.
If something is too good to be true, its because it is. This management team is a mess, or atleast its their geriatric manager by the name of Cliff. This idiot would accidently tag us "the customer" in emails relying the message to his fellow employees that they would not be fulfilling our wishes. Communication breaks down the second they recieve that deposit. So I suggest either avoiding this place if Cliff Thomas is any way attached to it, or pay the deposit with a credit card. Let your credit card company/bank take on these peasants. I have no respect for people that make a living off this type of business
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
