TL;DR: Beautiful venue, amazing food, and a final invoice that came in well below expectations—but the real standout was the exceptional customer service and how stress-free they made everything.
We first reached out to The Inn almost 2 years prior to our wedding. Our non-negotiable was that we did not want to do any set up or breakdown and we wanted our dog to be a part of the wedding. We also wanted to avoid having to coordinate a lot of different vendors. My now husband really wanted to have in the Outer Banks but I was skeptical as we had people traveling across the country and it felt like we were adding a long drive to their travel – a worry that seems silly now that the wedding has passed and I’ve seen how much our guests enjoyed the venue. We chose the Wedding Weekend package and had our family and a couple best friends stay there with us. The unexpected benefit to this was that we were able to gather and catch up on the property outside of the rooms without bothering anyone. The Inn has several rental houses within walking distance so you do have the ability to really create your own community! From our first call with Steve for preliminary information, the bar for the hospitality was set incredibly high.
During our planning, we had many issues that put our planning on hold – personal health, family health, and my father’s unexpected death. The Inn staff were incredibly understanding and even made adjustments to help us get through those times without having the added stress of wedding details. After each call, decision, or deadline they updated our working wedding invoice so the amount we were spending was obvious. Early on in the process, they provided us with a preferred vendors list and alternative lodging referrals. The only other vendors we used, outside of my hairdresser who traveled, were from that list and all of them were wonderful. One of the things that we really enjoyed in the planning process was the Wedding Weekend in December. We were able to spend a few nights at The Inn with other couples in the planning process. They had various vendors, wine tastings, food tastings, décor out for viewing, and the option of attending a specialty cocktail event. It was incredibly helpful for finalizing our decisions so we were able to have all of our major decisions done shortly afterwards.
The weekend of the wedding was seamless. We had made gift bags for the people staying with us and The Inn ensured they were in their rooms before they arrived. Based on The Inn’s email communications with guests, they had made reservations and got to enjoy the delicious breakfasts in Café Pamlico. We were all able to relax before the rehearsal on Friday. Meredith did an amazing job of making sure everyone knew what to do for the ceremony. As my dad had passed during the planning, I had made the decision to be “passed off” during my procession with 4 different escorts so it was a bit more complicated than normal. Meredith also deserves credit for the idea of having my escorts follow behind me in a show of support once they had passed me off to the next person. After practicing the ceremony, we had invited everyone for the rehearsal dinner. We went with the taco bar and it was delicious (the fish received the most compliments)! It was also a lot of fun and provided the more casual atmosphere we had wanted for everyone to meet. The day of the wedding, the staff set up everything exactly how I had expected. We had brought wedding favors, signage, and some other items that we wanted out for our guests. I had checked in with Meredith to let her know my vision and it was executed perfectly. She checked in with me where I was getting ready and told me when I needed to move and where so that my husband wouldn’t see me prior to the ceremony. When I finally got in place, we realized I had forgotten my bouquet in the room and a staff member ran and grabbed it quickly. Whenever it was time to change locations, we got an advance warning and were escorted to where we needed to be shortly after. Throughout the night, there was always someone close by to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. The next morning, we woke up to our final invoice, which was several thousand dollars lower than we had anticipated! Meredith had also included final information, such as where our items that were used were located so we could take them home. During checkout, the housekeeping staff was amazing. They helped my mom carry things out to her car and would come out with found items as they were cleaning so we could get them to the correct people – most of the time before they’d left. As I was in the lounge area gathering items from the wedding while guests were checking out, I could hear Steve speaking with each of them personally and sharing stories. While I would highly recommend being more responsible than I was in this regard, we had not made breakfast reservations for our checkout day. It was a busy Father’s Day and the staff still managed to do some rearranging so that I could have one final meal with my family before they left. The food there is so good that we had even returned for Father’s Day dinner that evening with my husband’s family (and with reservations)!

We had our wedding here in the beginning of May. Everyone that came said how much they loved this place. They exceeding all of our expectations when it came to the service, amenities, atmosphere, cleanliness and value. The staff was amazing and worked very hard to make sure everything was perfect for us. The food was delicious and the service team did an incredible job not only during the wedding but also during the time we had in between events. Meredith absolutely crushed it as our event coordinator and was able to keep everything running smooth and organized. We will always have a special place in our hearts and minds for the Inn and will be visiting again anytime we are in the area.

Our wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound was truly the wedding of our dreams, and we cannot thank the entire team enough for making it such a magical and unforgettable experience.

The stunning views of the sound created the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception, and our guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was. What truly made our experience exceptional, however, was the staff. Every person we encountered was warm, friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our day special. They consistently went above and beyond in ways both big and small.

One of the moments that touched us most was returning to our room after the celebration. The staff had carefully gathered and arranged all of our wedding cards on a table for us, making sure everything was organized and safe. They had also thoughtfully placed my bouquet in water so it would stay fresh. After such a busy and emotional day, those small acts of kindness meant so much to us and perfectly reflected the level of care they put into every detail.

The entire team made us feel celebrated, supported, and cared for throughout the whole experience. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment with our family and friends.

We are beyond grateful to everyone at The Inn on Pamlico Sound for creating such a perfect wedding day and memories that we will cherish forever. This review is slightly overdue—not because it lacked importance, but because I wanted to be sure to fully recognize the outstanding team at the Inn on Pamlico Sound.

When my husband and I began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted something small and intimate, yet upscale, in a location that held special memories and truly reflected us as a couple. The Inn on Pamlico Sound was our first and only choice.

The level of service we received throughout the planning process and on the wedding day was exceptional. Even though we had a small party, Meredith and her team provided us with the full complement of support. I highly recommend taking advantage of their wedding planning weekends; planning from afar, this weekend allowed us to connect in person with their recommended vendors and made me even more comfortable with how everything would go on our big day.

Fast forward to the wedding weekend—we were able to host a wonderful “rehearsal” dinner with our friends. Our memories of the delicious food at Café Pamlico were not only reinforced but elevated. The food was superb, and the Café’s service staff went above and beyond to make every meal memorable.

The day of our wedding brought an unexpected challenge. We knew that February weather could be unpredictable and had hoped for an outdoor ceremony. That morning, it became clear that an outdoor wedding was unlikely. The team at the Inn quickly adapted, arranging for us to marry indoors. You never would have known that this was not the original plan, and we still enjoyed breathtaking views of the Pamlico Sound. Our wedding dinner was incredible—from appetizers to custom main courses, everyone in our party raved about the meal. The staff even arranged customized menus and a decadent wedding cake.

The best part is that now we have a special place to return to every year for our anniversary. Thank you, Inn on Pamlico Sound and Café Pamlico.

I had my wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound and it was truly magical. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make the entire weekend seamless. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel so supported throughout the planning process and on the big day.

This review is long overdue but SO well deserved. My husband and I chose the Inn on Pamlico Sound for our (slightly) last minute wedding back in late 2023. Due to some pretty big life events that occurred shortly after, leaving a review for this amazing venue completely slipped my mind amidst dealing with the situation at the time! :( For me to come back 2 years later to leave this should prove to anyone reading how spectacular this venue and its staff truly are.

My husband and I had a dream of getting married in OBX for the longest time but always felt that it was just a pipe dream until we found Pamlico Inn. We planned on having a small wedding with our most cherished family/friends as well as a slightly tight budget to work with and a shorter timeline than most people. To say that Meredith (the event coordinator) and her team went above and beyond for us is an understatement! She was absolutely fantastic from the moment we first spoke with her following all the way through the planning and the wedding day itself. They were organized, communicative, and thoughtful. She helped us plan every detail and made sure everything went perfectly. My husband and I as well as our bridal party arrived a few days before the wedding to prepare and setup. Meredith was so kind to everyone as well as the rest of the staff and helped everyone feel very comfortable and taken care of. Meredith and I were discussing the table arrangements for the next day and she gave my sister and I the opportunity to have fun with her decor and supplies and create her an example of an arrangement that we would love. So that's exactly what we did! And the wedding staff replicated it PERFECTLY!! It was really a dream come true (especially because I'm a crafty person who likes to decorate) and it really felt like everyone cared about making sure we were happy. Everything was genuinely taken care of so well and it provided us with so much peace. It felt like we were on vacation which we are grateful for because all I ever hear about from others is how stressful their wedding day was!

All of our guests (who were quite tired from their journey all the way from NJ) were truly blown away by this little gem by the ocean as well as my husband and I. The venue and hotel were calm, relaxing, clean, and cozy. The restaurant onsite has great food and our food at our wedding was even BETTER! Our guests have been to many weddings before and they genuinely still rave about our humble, beautiful, little wedding to this day! Everyone loved the atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the food (especially the tuna tataki and our signature drinks!!) the grounds and how laid back everything was. Some of our guests even say it was their favorite wedding that they have ever been to :) It truly felt like we were all a part of a piece of Heaven that day (especially with the sunset skies over the sound, come on!!)

Our wedding day and wedding weekend were truly a dream come true. OBX has always been special to my husband and I. It was truly a blessing from start to finish. We are forever grateful to Pamlico Inn, Meredith, Steve and the rest of the staff for a day that we will cherish forever. We cannot wait to go back and create more memories there as the years go by and relive our wedding day as we grow old together.

We very much enjoyed our Just We Two wedding at the Inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was nice, and the food at the restaurant was wonderful. Since it was just us, the B & B was a perfect small, quiet setting for us to get married. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking to do the same thing!

Beyond expectations and an absolutely amazing experience! We reserved The Inn on Pamilco Sound  in Buxton, NC for 3 nights in September 2025 for my son's wedding venue. It is understandable why The Inn is rated as the top venue for weddings in the Outer Banks, NC. Meredith, the wedding coordinator,  was so knowledgeable,  informative, flexible and pleasant in putting our selected package together and making all our wishes come to fruition without disappointment. She provided a list of possible vendors for us to contact for music,  hair styling,  bakeries, florists, officiants, photographers well in advance and guided us through every step needed as we approached the wedding day. The Inn on Pamilco Sound offers numerous meal selections to choose from and it should be noted that Cafe Pamlico restaurant at the Inn is rated as the top restaurant in the Outer Banks. Our rehearsal dinner and reception dinner was very delicious and wedding guest commented on its excellence of taste and presentation.  A dedicated staff of servers was assigned for our event and they were most attentive,  professional and friendly. Tasha, the general manager of the Inn, ensured our stay at the Inn was memorable with comfort, pampering and ease. Tasha was unwavering in her desire to please and accommodate our every need. Since we occupied all of the 13 bedrooms at the Inn, we had the entire facility to ourselves as a private venue. It was like living in a huge home with employees catering to our needs and a very safe environment for the children to explore and play throughout the Inn and its grounds. We took advantage of the free amenities during our stay using the pool, bar, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and an open firepit at waters edge for evening gatherings.  They also have an indoor theater for private use and beach chairs and umbrellas available. Some of the bedrooms have balconies which overlook the Pamilco Sound and are situated so you can enjoy watching both sunrise and sunset.  The wedding ceremony was conducted with the backdrop of the sound and after the ceremony we all enjoyed a most spectacular sunset. The venue offers a dance floor area. I can not praise the employees at the Inn enough for creating the most eloquent wedding for our special day. Thank you to the event staff: Merdith, Tasha, Melissa,  Ashley, Aylah and Olivia. Support staff: Sean, Huber, Abi, Canaan, Mark and Jasmine. And a huge shout out to Steve for creating this beautiful and romantic venue.  I highly recommend The Inn on Pamilco Sound and Cafe Pamlico.

From start to finish, the Inn was great. Meredith is a great planner and made sure the weekend went smoothly! Everything was well organized and went as planned. The rehearsal dinner food and wedding food were amazing. We received so many compliments on the food from our guests. They did a great job with set up and clean up. It was one of the best weekends of my life and I can’t thank the Inn enough for putting together such a special weekend for us.
