I had my wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound and it was truly magical. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make the entire weekend seamless. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel so supported throughout the planning process and on the big day.
And the food—wow. I’ve eaten at the Inn several times and already knew it was incredible, but they delivered the same exceptional quality for our wedding. Our guests have not stopped talking about how delicious everything was!
The venue itself is stunning, the service is unmatched, and the overall experience completely exceeded our expectations. If you’re thinking about hosting your wedding at the Inn, stop thinking and just do it. It was the best decision we made! 💛 -

Heavenly, Beautiful, Amazing Wedding Venue
This review is long overdue but SO well deserved. My husband and I chose the Inn on Pamlico Sound for our (slightly) last minute wedding back in late 2023. Due to some pretty big life events that occurred shortly after, leaving a review for this amazing venue completely slipped my mind amidst dealing with the situation at the time! :( For me to come back 2 years later to leave this should prove to anyone reading how spectacular this venue and its staff truly are.
My husband and I had a dream of getting married in OBX for the longest time but always felt that it was just a pipe dream until we found Pamlico Inn. We planned on having a small wedding with our most cherished family/friends as well as a slightly tight budget to work with and a shorter timeline than most people. To say that Meredith (the event coordinator) and her team went above and beyond for us is an understatement! She was absolutely fantastic from the moment we first spoke with her following all the way through the planning and the wedding day itself. They were organized, communicative, and thoughtful. She helped us plan every detail and made sure everything went perfectly. My husband and I as well as our bridal party arrived a few days before the wedding to prepare and setup. Meredith was so kind to everyone as well as the rest of the staff and helped everyone feel very comfortable and taken care of. Meredith and I were discussing the table arrangements for the next day and she gave my sister and I the opportunity to have fun with her decor and supplies and create her an example of an arrangement that we would love. So that's exactly what we did! And the wedding staff replicated it PERFECTLY!! It was really a dream come true (especially because I'm a crafty person who likes to decorate) and it really felt like everyone cared about making sure we were happy. Everything was genuinely taken care of so well and it provided us with so much peace. It felt like we were on vacation which we are grateful for because all I ever hear about from others is how stressful their wedding day was!
All of our guests (who were quite tired from their journey all the way from NJ) were truly blown away by this little gem by the ocean as well as my husband and I. The venue and hotel were calm, relaxing, clean, and cozy. The restaurant onsite has great food and our food at our wedding was even BETTER! Our guests have been to many weddings before and they genuinely still rave about our humble, beautiful, little wedding to this day! Everyone loved the atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the food (especially the tuna tataki and our signature drinks!!) the grounds and how laid back everything was. Some of our guests even say it was their favorite wedding that they have ever been to :) It truly felt like we were all a part of a piece of Heaven that day (especially with the sunset skies over the sound, come on!!)
Our wedding day and wedding weekend were truly a dream come true. OBX has always been special to my husband and I. It was truly a blessing from start to finish. We are forever grateful to Pamlico Inn, Meredith, Steve and the rest of the staff for a day that we will cherish forever. We cannot wait to go back and create more memories there as the years go by and relive our wedding day as we grow old together.

We very much enjoyed our Just We Two wedding at the Inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was nice, and the food at the restaurant was wonderful. Since it was just us, the B & B was a perfect small, quiet setting for us to get married. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking to do the same thing! -

Beyond expectations and an absolutely amazing experience! We reserved The Inn on Pamilco Sound in Buxton, NC for 3 nights in September 2025 for my son's wedding venue. It is understandable why The Inn is rated as the top venue for weddings in the Outer Banks, NC. Meredith, the wedding coordinator, was so knowledgeable, informative, flexible and pleasant in putting our selected package together and making all our wishes come to fruition without disappointment. She provided a list of possible vendors for us to contact for music, hair styling, bakeries, florists, officiants, photographers well in advance and guided us through every step needed as we approached the wedding day. The Inn on Pamilco Sound offers numerous meal selections to choose from and it should be noted that Cafe Pamlico restaurant at the Inn is rated as the top restaurant in the Outer Banks. Our rehearsal dinner and reception dinner was very delicious and wedding guest commented on its excellence of taste and presentation. A dedicated staff of servers was assigned for our event and they were most attentive, professional and friendly. Tasha, the general manager of the Inn, ensured our stay at the Inn was memorable with comfort, pampering and ease. Tasha was unwavering in her desire to please and accommodate our every need. Since we occupied all of the 13 bedrooms at the Inn, we had the entire facility to ourselves as a private venue. It was like living in a huge home with employees catering to our needs and a very safe environment for the children to explore and play throughout the Inn and its grounds. We took advantage of the free amenities during our stay using the pool, bar, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and an open firepit at waters edge for evening gatherings. They also have an indoor theater for private use and beach chairs and umbrellas available. Some of the bedrooms have balconies which overlook the Pamilco Sound and are situated so you can enjoy watching both sunrise and sunset. The wedding ceremony was conducted with the backdrop of the sound and after the ceremony we all enjoyed a most spectacular sunset. The venue offers a dance floor area. I can not praise the employees at the Inn enough for creating the most eloquent wedding for our special day. Thank you to the event staff: Merdith, Tasha, Melissa, Ashley, Aylah and Olivia. Support staff: Sean, Huber, Abi, Canaan, Mark and Jasmine. And a huge shout out to Steve for creating this beautiful and romantic venue. I highly recommend The Inn on Pamilco Sound and Cafe Pamlico.

The rehearsal dinner food and wedding food were amazing. We received so many compliments on the food from our guests. They did a great job with set up and clean up. It was one of the best weekends of my life and I can’t thank the Inn enough for putting together such a special weekend for us. -

My husband and I chose the Inn on Pamlico Sound for our June 2025 wedding and without a doubt it was the best decision ever. OBX has always been special to us and a wedding at the beach was a no brainer. We instantly fell in love with the Inn when we went there for dinner prior to securing the venue. The staff is incredibly friendly-- they truly go above and beyond to ensure that your time there is the absolute best. Booking your wedding there means you get to work with their amazing Event Coordinator, Meredith Harris, who is truly incredible at her job! She is so easy to talk to, makes your feel at home when you are at the Inn and makes the wedding planning process so seamless. Every guest at our wedding was so impressed by the staff at the Inn and told me that it was their favorite wedding they had ever been to! I believe that is truly because of the staff, the incredible location and the amazing food. I always thought it was cliché when people said their wedding day was perfect and felt like a dream but the staff at the Inn made this concept a reality. Thank you so much :) -

We got married at the Inn on Monday June 2nd, 2025. The day of our rehearsal dinner, I didn't lift a finger. I didn't have to make any calls, answer any questions, or worry about a single detail. We just showed up, rehearsed, ate good food, and partied! The same thing happened on my wedding day. We got ready in the theater room while the coordinator and the staff put together my dream reception area. Again, all I had to think about was hair and makeup.
Everything unfolded smoothly and beautifully. The sound was the perfect backdrop- it couldn't have been any prettier.
The food at our wedding- FOUR COURSES- was some of the best food I, and our families, had ever had. Everyone was raving about it.
At the end of the night, they wrapped up everything for us (food, flowers, decor that we brought) so that we could easily load it into our car and leave for the night. I am so glad we chose the Inn as the place for our special day. They told us, the day we booked, that once we have entrusted them with our wedding- we wouldn't have to worry about a thing. They fulfilled their promise. We can't wait to go back and make more memories. We just celebrated our wedding weekend 5/8/25-5/10/25 at the Inn on Pamlico Sound and catered by Cafe Pamlico. To say it was the best weekend of our lives would be an understatement. Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived until the minute we left (which was a day later than planned since we couldn't pull ourselves away from the beautiful views). We have received SO many compliments stating that this was the best wedding our guests have ever been to and everyone had an amazing time. We were so happy to share this incredibly special place with all of our friends and family.
The venue: IOPS as a wedding venue is pure magic. The views from the point where our ceremony was held and walking down the "aisle" on a dock, led to some of the most stunning photos. The tented deck (absolutely recommend the clear top tent, it was beautiful) as a dance floor was picturesque and so unique. We were lucky to have fantastic weather, and sunsets on the sound are unmatched. We could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for our wedding. When a bit of inclement weather and wind gusts did roll in later that night, everyone sprung into action and got things out of the way but without stopping the party. I cannot say enough about the beauty of this place, you just have to see it for yourself.
The rooms: Gorgeous, charming, and comfortable. We took over the entire Inn for the wedding and it was SO fun popping between rooms to see all of our friends and family. 100% recommend doing the wedding weekend package so you can have the place to yourself! We stayed in the Jasmine room that also served as the bridal suite where we all got ready. It is painted a beautiful blue-green that looked absolutely gorgeous in the "getting ready" photos. The bed was so comfy and we were so well rested for all of the festivities because of it! Everyone loved their rooms, and the views from the windows and balconies are stunning. A huge perk was use of the common refrigerator in the lobby of the building. We were able to store all of our leftovers in there to enjoy with our guests the next day, and none of the food was wasted. This is a courtesy you won't find at many places.
The food: This was hands down THE BEST food I have ever had at a wedding. I thought for sure with my adrenaline pumping from all the excitement that I would not want to eat much. But when my filet was put in front of me and I had one bite, I couldn't help but eat it all. We had offered filet, crab cakes, and caprese chicken and our guests RAVED about the food. We also had several complicated allergies that could have absolutely ruined someones evening, but the kitchen staff handled everything perfectly. The dinner service moved quickly for the size wedding we had and for the caliber of food they were receiving. It was well paced and everyone left the dinner full and happy. Not to mention the beautiful views everyone got to enjoy while finishing their dinner. The cocktail hour was also fantastic and everyone enjoyed the appetizers. Our hosted rehearsal dinner was equally as amazing and the shrimp and grits bar had everyone talking. We also did cocktail appetizers for our guests at a welcome party, and they put out the most beautiful charcutterie board I've ever seen. Most of our guests also had breakfast at the Inn daily and it's some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. I 100% recommend the extra brine bloody mary as well as the mimosa flight!
The staff: If nothing else in this review convinced you to have your wedding here, or even to just vacation at IOPS, let this be the thing that does it. The staff here were all some of the kindest and most hard working people I've ever met. We worked closely with Meredith, our wedding planner for the venue as well as day-of-coordinator, and I was blown away by her professionalism and responsiveness. She made planning this entire wedding all the way from Florida absolutely seamless. People always talk about the chaos of your wedding day and how things can sometimes get missed an overlooked, but that was not our experience in any way. Meredith was on it the entire time, and everything went flawlessly. She was just one of many highlights from our experience with IOPS. The wait staff and bar staff was excellent, efficient, and really seemed to enjoy what they do. They worked tirelessly the day of the rehearsal dinner and the wedding to set everything up with very little instruction, and it turned out better than I could have even imagined. They somehow arranged things in a way that looked better than what I had even envisioned on my own. The bar line moved quickly and no one was spending half the night waiting for drinks. They are absolute pros. I think the best part was interacting with the same faces all weekend. The staff really enjoyed our event with us and we were so honored to have them be a part of our day. They are genuinely wonderful people and a true testament to the charm and hospitality of the outer banks. Lastly, Steve Nelson, the owner, was incredible. He was seemingly always there when we needed anything and helped make the whole weekend go perfectly. He has created pure magic in this little Inn and we just could not be happier with how everything went. A huge thank you to all of the incredible staff.
If you're having an OBX wedding or need a break from the hustle and bustle of day to day life, then look no further than the Inn on Pamlico Sound and Cafe Pamlico. You will not be disappointed! We can't wait for our next trip back! -

WOW! Amazing! I am beyond happy that we had our event at The Inn on Pamlico Sound. From the beautiful table decor to the wonderful staff, everything was perfect. My initial interaction was with Steve, the owner. He is very pleasant and helpful to talk to. He answered all my questions (and there were a lot) and even had some great suggestions for our special day. We worked closely with Meredith to coordinate everything. She was able to do this over the phone or, as we chose, to do an in person visit. She helped to bring my vision to life and everything was perfect. Anytime we had a question, Meredith and staff were right there ready to help. Of course being on the beach, weather can be tricky, but we were assured there were indoor options if Mother Nature did not corporate. We were lucky enough to have a break in stormy weather and did not need to move indoors. The food was delicious too! The Inn offers a wide variety of options to choose from; you and your guests will be very pleased and full.
I can not recommend The Inn on Pamlico Sound enough. Put your trust in Meredith and Steve and you will not be disappointed.

The Inn at Buxton was a fantastic experience for our "Not a Wedding" celebration. The staff (Especially Meredith) was incredibly professional and took a lot of time to get things just right for what we wanted while not breaking our budget. There were many options and all of the food and drinks were excellent. We spent four hours there and enjoyed a buffet style dinner and an open bar on the deck. The decorations were very nice and not over done. Their private dock provide a fantastic spot to take sunset photos I recommend The Inn at Buxton, especially if you want a more intimate wedding and or celebration experience. -

We had the most incredible wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound. We were able to visit multiple times, and from start to finish the process was easy. The highest compliment I can give is that when the team involved in your wedding at The Inn say they've "got this", they really do in fact "got this". We made a last minute change to the exact location of the ceremony and it was so smooth you would never know. If I could give 10 stars, I would. My husband and I just had our Wedding Weekend at the Inn on Pamlico Sound, last month and I cannot express enough how seamless they made the planning process for us. They were very attentive via phone/text/email. Especially as we got down to the wire and I sent numerous emails, they always made sure to answer every single question we had. We were able to mail things, drop things off the week of the wedding and they are super friendly and knowledgeable, they make it such a BREEZE, take your worries away and put it in their hands. We did a Welcome Brunch the day before the Wedding, had breakfast with family the morning of the Wedding and I cannot stress enough how attentive they were. They are SO polite, friendly, and such a blast to work with - you feel like a part of their inn family! We are so thankful and happy we had our Wedding there not just because of the beautiful location but especially because of the staff. Meredith, Natasha, and Melissa is who we worked with and spoke with the most and saw/met in person, love them they are fantastic - appreciate everything they did for us!! Steve is great too, he is the owner and I have spoken with him on the phone a bunch, I did not get the pleasure of meeting him that weekend but his entire staff makes your Wedding so memorable and fun. If you are thinking of having a wedding here, eating dinner or staying, stop being indecisive and do it! Beautiful venue, kindest souls and just best time ever. It's honestly difficult to even start listing all the reasons I am so extremely thrilled that I booked this venue. But first we'll start with Meredith, the event coordinator. She is fabulous! Every piece of the entire process was smooth and easy due to her. She was on top of what I needed to do and by when, and always available for a call when needed. AND when a tropical storm hit very suddenly the weekend of our wedding, she handled everything amazingly. She kept in contact with vendors and was quick to develop plan A, B, and C with us. While of course I was stressed due to weather, I can't IMAGINE how much more stressed I would have been without her. Our day would not have gone so well if it were not for her.
In addition, the staff in general... Every single person that we interacted with was just amazing. They work so hard to make it feel homey and make you feel so welcomed. All my guests were commenting on it.
Lastly the facilities, food, etc. The food choices available for rehearsal dinner and wedding were amazing, and the breakfast included with your stay is hands down the best breakfast of any hotel I've been to. The inn is stunning, the view of the water, the greenery, the homey feel of the rooms. We ended up having to take down the tent over the deck for the reception due to the weather, and had the ceremony on the deck rather than the lawn by the water as it was a bit flooded and the reception was done on their permanent covered deck, but even with the adaptations it still ended up being beautiful. And a big reason I had picked the Inn over other OBX locations was because of the backup options available as weather can go south quick. Another plus is the decor they have available. While I did buy/rent some, I really didn't have to get much as they have so much available, and all I had to do was list out what I wanted (for a small extra charge that is so so worth it).
This is already a long review, but I could honestly keep going forever singing their praises. Thank you to everyone at the Inn, yall are the best! -

We booked the Inn on Pamlico Sound for their wedding weekend package and had a great experience! Our wedding planner helped us every step of the way with planning, tracking our costs, and got all the details taken care of for us exactly as requested. The planner also ensured everything went smoothly on the day of the wedding. Our only critique is that getting the rooms booked at the inn for our guests using their system was somewhat inefficient and lead to difficulties and confusion, however they ensured everything got worked out in the end to our satisfaction. The restaurant offered a totally personalized menu selection and catered the best food we have ever had at any wedding and several guests went out of their way to tell us this as well. Views from the venue were beautiful, especially at sunset and made for great pictures. We absolutely recommend this venue to anyone considering an Outer Banks wedding! -

Perfect Wedding
The Inn on Pamlico Sound was the perfect venue for our wedding on May 6, 2023. Everything was absolutely amazing - the venue was beautiful, the food was outstanding, the drinks were on point, service was outstanding, and the team at the Inn made the day unforgettable. Huge shoutout to Meredith, the wedding coordinator, and her team for making everything go smoothly and nailing all of the small details. Meredith was unbelievably helpful throughout the planning process. The restaurant staff provided top-notch service during dinner and took great care of our guests in addition to the outstanding food served. Our recent wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound was quite simply— heaven. Absolute magic from start to finish and the entire process from planning to execution was handled masterfully by this incredible staff. As a couple, we are considered by many close to us to be “dreamers” but this experience was well above and beyond anything that even we had imagined. Our families and friends continue to rave about the beauty of the venue, the landscape, the kindness and thoroughness of the staff, the supreme quality of the food and the overall unique nature of such a truly memorable weekend. Just some of the things our family and friends have said: “I have never seen a wedding like that before!” “That was the best wedding food ever!” “I can’t believe you had such great weather in November!”
This phenomenal team they have assembled feels like a family in the way they ebb and flow together and have each other’s backs— all with the singular focus of making a memorable, magical day come to life for their guests. We gave this great team numerous challenges and they rose to the occasion time and time again. First, we had only about 4.5 months from when we selected the venue to the big day. Our wedding was in late November (the weekend before Thanksgiving) and we wanted to do it outside right along the water, so we need contingency plans in case of weather (though the weather ended up being gorgeous!) We wanted a mic’d ceremony so everyone could hear, 2 separate live musicians, as well as a DJ for the reception. We used a combination of local and remote vendors who all needed to collaborate closely to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Everything came together perfectly and we could not have asked for more. Each of these team members is a consummate professional who remained poised, calm and confident… even in face of a rather short turnaround wedding such as ours:
- Meredith was detailed, precise, kind and a calming presence who inspired confidence every step along the way.
- Melissa was incredibly welcoming and patient in helping us accommodate guests coming everywhere from San Francisco, to Salt Lake, to Madrid, to Baltimore…
- Dallas was not only a culinary artist, but one of the friendliest, most helpful people you could ever hope to meet.
- And Steve, Natasha and the entire team ensured that IOPS lived up to the promise top to bottom. And then some.
- We also selected several of their preferred vendors, all of whom knit perfectly right into the fabric of this well orchestrated weekend.
We booked the “wedding weekend” package in order to reserve the entire Inn for our guests, a tremendous value that enabled us to also hire amazing photographers and videographers to help capture the entire wedding day. We could not recommend this venue more. An absolute gem. If you are “considering” The Inn on Pamlico Sound for your wedding, I invite you to ask them for my direct cell number and I will not let you off the phone until you are convinced this is the only place for you! :-) Literally if a unicorn had flown across the sky behind us during the ceremony I don’t think it would have been any more magical than what transpired. We will never forget it. Our friends and family will never forget it. And we could never thank the amazing staff at The Inn on Pamlico Sound enough for all that they do. Endless gratitude to Meredith, Melissa, Dallas, Natasha, Steve and the entire IOPS team!

What a beautiful setting for our Wedding. The inn is lovely and has the most beautiful view and sunsets. Our wedding coordinator, Meredith was so nice and on spot.
The food for the wedding was delicious! We loved the breakfast, as well. The
servers were very pleasant and friendly. Our room was cozy, clean and roomy. Well be back for our anniversary! -

My wife and I were due to be married at the inn in September of 2019. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas, as Hurricane Dorian swept through the islands on our wedding day. Despite needing to make their own preparations for a major storm, Steve and the rest of the Inn’s team made us feel comfortable, reassured us we would have the wedding we wanted, and immediately got to work to find us an open date the following spring. It’s hard to understate how accommodating everyone was during what was a hard time for us emotionally, especially in the face of a major storm that was threatening their livelihoods.
Unfortunately, the following year held more difficulties in store, as the pandemic had begun and it would ultimately be unsafe to have our wedding on our rescheduled date. Despite having already given us so much leeway in rescheduling our wedding, they were so dedicated to us having our day that they once again helped us find a day the following year in hopes that it would be safer. Unfortunately, that day also came and went with Covid still being a major concern, but the inn never gave it a second thought, once again finding us a perfect day the following year.
Fast forward to 2022, and the months leading to our wedding could not have gone more smoothly. Meredith and the event team helped us through some stressful points in our planning, taking the reins when we’d become indecisive, and offering us ideas for the ceremony we’d not yet thought of. Through the entire process, she made everything digestible even when we’d procrastinated, and made sure at no point we felt overwhelmed.
Melissa, the hotel manager, was patient and accommodating with us through all our various changes in room assignments, of which there were many because my wife and I are both horrifically disorganized on our best day. She somehow managed to navigate our chaos without any difficulty, which is a feat in and of itself.
The weekend of our wedding was everything we wanted it to be in every single way. Our guests (not to mention the two of us) were extremely impressed by the gorgeous rooms, the amazing food, and the incredibly kind and welcoming staff. Melissa was once again amazing in fielding everything our guests could have needed. Meredith made sure that once it came time for us to have our wedding, our entire experience was stress free (as much as a wedding can be) and we could focus on just enjoying one another and our loved ones. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was second to none, and the staff was some of the most warm people we’ve ever encountered.
The inn went above and beyond for us in every way possible, and worked hard for us across years of planning and rescheduling to make sure we had amazing memories of our wonderful day. I could not recommend them enough, and we can’t wait to come back for a visit and see everyone again.

The most magical weekend ever!
This place is such a hidden gem. Everyone in Wilmington asked us why we chose to get married there instead of here. Stay once and you'll know! We visited prior to our wedding and had such an a amazing stay. They have kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and an outstanding cafe to eat any meal you choose. Live music during the week, and staff that is so accomodating and kind. Truly the southern charm we all hope for during a stay away, but especially a wedding weekend. I could go on and on, but you can see for yourself! -

We had our wedding celebration at the Inn on Pamlico Sound and were able to reserve the full inn for the weekend. They were very accommodating to our crew! We adore the gardens on site, the views of the sunrises and sunsets, the ability to walk out the room and jump onto a paddleboard, the top notch brunch, the pool with a view, and comfortable rooms. It's a convenient location close to our favorite OBX attractions. We'll be back again and again!
Cafe Pamlico guided us through every step of the way with example menus, willingness to incorporate our asks, and finding vendors to fulfill our unique dessert and drink requests. The food was great and as we rented out the full Inn for the wedding weekend, we were able to keep our leftovers from the welcome party and drinks in the community fridges and have them throughout the weekend. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how great the food was! As self-proclaimed foodies, we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. When we visit OBX we look forward to continuing to dine at Cafe Pamlico and enjoy the top notch food, often sources locally, and the incredible view. -

The Inn on Pamlico Sound and Cafe Pamlico are hidden gems. We celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary and Vow Renewal Ceremony here. From the very first contact to the very last minute of our stay, we felt pampered and attended to. The venue is perfect and you couldn't ask for a better location. The rooms were clean, bright and well appointed. We would highly recommend the Cafe Pamlico. A full breakfast is included in your stay. Usually, a breakfast is just mediocre at best but not here. It was excellent. We also had dinner as a group and then after our vow renewal. The quality and service was outstanding. I've never had a better meal in my 40 plus years of visiting the Outer Banks. The weather changed and we requested to move our ceremony to a different location on the property and it was absolutely no problem. Our event coordinator, Meredith Harris was unbelievable. From the planning to the day of, our every need was met and no detail was too small. The vendor recommendations were excellent as well. All of the staff from front desk to housekeeping are phenomenal. Steve Nelson, the owner and his staff have perfected the art of Customer Service. The change in weather was not in their control but I guarantee if they could have changed it, they would. Yes, that's how good they are. Do not hesitate to book your wedding at The Inn. You will not be disappointed. -

Everything was perfect! Our guests are still raving about the food and how gorgeous everything was. Dallas / Meredith and team did a phenomenal job day of making sure everything went to plan.
I work for a wedding venue so picking the perfect venue for our special day was very important. From the moment we arrived to tour we fell in love! Meredith was very helpful and answered all my millions of questions along the way. We are so thankful we chose The Inn on Pamlico…you guys did not disappoint! Can’t wait to return for anniversaries!

Words don’t do The Inn on Pamlico Sound justice. We had our wedding there and could not have dreamed of a more perfect weekend/ wedding day. Every single staff member is professional, fun, and ready for anything a wedding can throw their way. We had a storm come in unexpectedly and they handled our reception and day perfectly. It turned the day into something to remember whereas with another venue or team it may have been a disaster . They made our day so perfect. Leading up to our wedding Meredith, their wedding coordinator, helped me with every single detail. I got an email in response to mine within 24 hours. They had great suggestions for possible vendors and helped me plan a wedding weekend all of my friends and family loved. All of our guests are still gushing over the venue, THE STAFF, the food, and the fun filled weekend we all shared. I cannot recommend this venue enough. They are the best of the best! -

We could not be more thrilled with how perfectly our wedding day was at The Inn on Pamlico Sound. I am still coming down off the high of such a surreal and beautiful day! We had dinner there once and the experience was one we wanted to share with our family on our wedding day.
The planning process was smooth with the No Stress. Gina is bubbly and energetic and a ton of fun to work with. She thinks of the things you would never think of and gets everything lined up so you simply get dressed and enjoy your day! But if you are like me and want to butt in at times, she is cool with that, too!
Sunset point is breathtaking. It was a windy overcast day but cleared up just enough for the perfect ceremony. I’m swooning over the photos Daniel Pullen photography took. Kate captured us so perfectly.
I highly recommend The Inn on Pamlico Sound if you have an intimate event like ours, or a larger event. They strive to make your wedding and your stay perfect and you get to meet and befriend some really amazing people in the process. We are guests for life! -

We would like to praise and recommend the Inn on Pamlico Sound & Cafe Pamlico for their food and catering services! They were fantastic in support of our daughter's wedding in Buxton on Thursday, August 15, 2019! Steve Nelson and company at the Inn/Cafe were really great!
This was a destination wedding with the reception held at a private home in Buxton. (So, of course, arranging from a distance creates a bit of anxiety,.. and otherwise having to provide day care for my 88year old mom throughout,.. family/guest arrivals,.. the celebration events, weather etc etc). No need to worry though -- we were in good hands,.. everything was wonderful!!
Steve introduced his event manager, Gina Williams. Gina and I connected several times to address all bride/groom interests. Gina and Seth, the chef, were very supportive and most accommodating in creating a desired menu that suited our headcount and budget. Gina assured the morning of the celebration that all was ready as planned,.. and it was! (They were nice enough to deliver and set up tables and chairs we had ordered, the night before to avoid wedding day conflict.) Food and plates and serving dishes were all in place as guests arrived. The celebration proceeded accordingly!
The guests raved about the food throughout the festivities! The servers, Zach and Amber, made sure all entrees were fresh and available the entire time. There were ample servings of all and actually a lot of leftovers, which Zach and Amber prepared for overnight storage etc. Nothing but praise for the food and the services throughout the evening -- everything was great!

Gina and team then followed-up the next day (as had been pre-arranged) to remove the tables and chairs, etc. All was wrapped up neatly and in timely fashion. I continued to receive complements regarding the food and service arrangements throughout the week. All was very positive.
I applaud all! Steve and his team at The Inn on Pamlico Sound & Cafe Pamlico were excellent - thorough, friendly and professional!. As I explained to Gina, this was my first time as a "Father of the Bride" or securing a catering service for anything. They made it simple and wonderful (regardless setting it up from long-distance ),.. All nice and neat.

Amazing place!
The Inn on Pamlico Sound was an amazing place for both our ceremony and our reception! June wedding at the Inn on Pamlico
My husband and I are so happy we chose the Inn on Pamlico for our wedding reception. From the very start, Steve and Gina were amazing and so helpful. Planning a destination wedding was a scary thing at first, but their professionalism and knowledge set us at ease.
Our guests have been raving about their experiences as well staying at the Inn. Beautiful, well- decorated rooms, amazing views, and gorgeous grounds to explore. And the FOOD. Not only was the food at our reception some of the best food we’ve ever had, our guests said the same thing about everything they tasted while staying there.
Our wedding day went perfectly thanks to Gina. She was organized, ensured that the decorations, layout, and tables were exactly what we had envisioned. Walking into our reception really felt like a dream! Throughout the evening, The entire staff at the Inn did such a fantastic job, ensuring my husband and I had the most perfect experience. The bartenders, servers, and all staff we encountered were so kind to Mike and I and our family and friends.
The weather was perfect and we had the most amazing sunset. Our guests could not stop talking about the view from the deck where the reception was held and how romantic and beautiful it was.
I know that the Inn will have future business from my husband and I& so many of our wedding guests based on this experience. I am so glad we trusted the Inn on Pamlico with such an important day. Our expectations were exceeded, and yours will be too!

The most incredible day ever (seriously)
I will remember out wedding for the rest of my life. The food that Seth cooked and served to our guests was fantastic, Gina is an incredible coordinator, Steve made us feel at home, but most of all- we shared one of our favorite places with all of our favorite people.
Seriously consider booking out the entire Inn with your wedding party like we did for your wedding- you will not regret having all of your best people in one place with all the amenities at the Inn for your entertainment!
I cannot say enough great things about my wedding day at the Inn, but I will say that it was the best decision.

The Inn on Pamlico Sound was an amazing place for a wedding ceremony and reception! We had a small wedding of 15 guests and the IOPS was able to accommodate our every need. Our wedding coordinator Gina was on point with everything from vendors to food; the owner Steve was friendly and accommodating allowing our dog on the grounds for our ceremony; our server Melissa was so helpful with food and drink needs; the executive chef Seth created culinary masterpieces! Looking for an affordable wedding venue in the Outer Banks bears strong resemblance to searching for a needle in a haystack, so at first the Inn on Pamlico Sound seemed too good to be true: a gorgeous inn on the water with bed-and-breakfast hospitality, onsite catering and alcohol, and a dedicated wedding coordinator with her own stores of decorations? No way could that be as perfect as it sounded.
Still, we took a leap of faith and booked sight unseen (we could cancel up to six months before with no penalty), then visited a week later. Words cannot describe how picturesque the inn is, and we were instantly sold on its quaint charm.
Over the year that we worked with the staff at the Inn, they were professional and efficient in making sure our questions were answered and our needs were met. We worked with wedding coordinator Gina to plan the ceremony and reception and with executive chef Seth to craft the rehearsal dinner and reception menus of our dreams. We simply could not be happier with how our day turned out - and at a price that didn’t put us in newlywed debt!
To anyone planning a destination wedding on the water, you’d be nuts not to at least pay the Inn on Pamlico Sound a visit to let them show you what makes them the best venue on the Outer Banks. We are eternally grateful to them, and can’t wait to be back for future anniversaries! -

We could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our wedding at The Inn on Pamlico Sound. The prices were reasonable, the entire staff was as overly friendly and helpful and accommodating as could be, the food was incredible and the scenery simply could not be beat! We live in the Northeast, so not only did we have to plan and coordinate everything with Gina remotely while not getting to see the place until the day before the rehearsal dinner, but we also had to do everything within 4 months! And we were honesty impressed with how quickly and beautifully they pulled everything off! Gina, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely incredible. She is GREAT at what she does. We simply provided her with ideas of what we wanted, and she produced. . . exceeding our expectations. The entire staff was supremely accommodating to us and our guests - including special accommodations for elderly and slightly disabled guests as well as guests with food allergies. We also had to make some last-minute changes from dining outside to inside, and they pulled everything off with a smile and without a hitch! We'd also like to give a special shout out to a particular staff member, Dallas. While Gina handle all the big stuff, Dallas made sure each and every guest had anything and everything they needed, including striking up engaging conversation and virtually becoming a member of our family! And the SCENERY! And the SUNSET! You simply cannot find a better backdrop for your wedding. Period. It's breathtaking. We could not have imagined getting married anywhere else. If you're looking for a friendly, quaint, supremely accommodating venue for your wedding with unmatched scenery, then Inn on Pamlico Sound is your venue! -

The venue was stunning, the staff was so friendly, accommodating and helpful, Gina, our event planner, was an absolute lifesaver and made sure everything was perfect for our special day . The Inn is the perfect place for an Island wedding and the room we stayed in was gorgeous. The service and amenities all around were top notch! The Inn will forever hold a special place in our hearts for making our wedding and our stay there more perfect than we ever could have imagined.
We chose the “No Stress Wedding” package the Inn offers and it was fantastic. Was perfect for putting together our smallish (30 guests) wedding especially since we live out of town. Gina knows all the best vendors on the island and was able to help match us with the best vendors for what we wanted for our dream wedding. It truly was the smoothest and most stress free wedding planning we ever could have hoped for! -

We would of had our wedding there but I've always wanted to get married on the beach. The staff was phenomenal and very helpful especially being are dinner party was a little larger than we expected but they were very accommodating and I didn't have to lift a finger. The service was superb, the food was phenomenal and very fresh. All our guests raved about everything and commented how great the food was, the scenery, the setup and the service. I would highly recommend anyone who needs a place to have their wedding with a perfect sunset view or even their wedding dinner and a stay in their fabulous rooms with great views to go here

The staff especially Gina took care of everything so I can honestly say I felt no stress at all and was able to enjoy my special day. And for Steve.. well our wedding was the first one after the hurricane that did so much damage to Pamlico but he worked day and night to get the facility ready and that includes the night before but it was ready! We would definitely recommend The Inn on Pamlico.... I’ve been to two other beach wedding and no comparisons.... Thank you Steve and everyone again...

Kristin Sent on 06/20/2018My husband and I just had our wedding at the Inn on Pamlico Sound. We booked our wedding last year on our family vacation to the island. Throughout the year, I remained in contact with the coordinator, Gina, who helped make sure everything went smoothly throughout the process of planning a wedding. My wedding was intimate, but still required coordination between multiple vendors and people, which Gina and the staff at the Inn assisted with. Everything went perfectly well, with the entire event being a huge success! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The sunset views were stunning and the food was tasty. My wedding was just how I imagined it would be, minus the stress I anticipated would come with planning a wedding. I highly recommend the Inn on Pamlico Sound for your wedding, as the venue is beautiful and the staff go above and beyond to make sure your special day is enjoyable for all attending the wedding.

I have just started working with Melissa at the Inn. She has been very helpful. The inn provides some decorations, help putting them up, meals, reservation help, etc. They even helped me get a yoga instructor to come the morning of the wedding.

An absolutely perfect wedding day!
Steve, just wanted to share our gratitude to you and the team at the Inn on Pamlico Sound! Our wedding day went off perfectly. Gina is amazing. From coordinating our photographer, to flowers, cake, officiant & dinner......the planning leading up to our big day was truly stress free. Upon meeting with Gina at 9am on our wedding day, the weather looked really sketchy & we were anxious about having the ceremony outside. She suggested that we change the time from 6pm to 5pm, and she was spot on. The venue & ceremony setting were beautiful. The wedding began at 5pm under perfect skies & we got all pictures done by 6pm. Just as we walked inside for dinner, a massive storm hit. We were so thankful for moving the time up an hour.
Our dinner was perfect as well. The dinner setting was cozy but spacious for our group of 15. The menu was exactly what we had discussed with Gina & the food was by far the best we've ever had in the outer banks. Our server, Dallas, was awesome. He was polite, attentive & engaging with us. Our dinner could not have been any better, thanks to your kitchen staff & Dallas. And to top off a perfect day, we were treated to a stunning sunset as we finished dinner & the rain stopped.
We will be eternally grateful to you & your entire team for an incredible wedding day that we'll remember forever! Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you guys again in the future. We will definitely be back!

She is an extremely hard worker and will make sure every detail on your wedding day is just right! The food was also fantastic - thanks to Chef Forrest and his team at the Inn. A++++++ - Great offsite catering company! Would have them cater for us again for sure!
