Since 1878, The Homewood Cemetery has been an integral part of the Pittsburgh community. [The Homewood Cemetery Chapel is an English Tudor-Gothic structure designed by Albert H. Spahr of MacClure & Spahr Architects. Dedicated in 1923, it is reminiscent of the 13th century Salsbury Cathedral with a geometric and interlacing pattern of early Gothic windows and a square tower. The large altar window was designed by George Greene and fabricated by the Rudy Brothers. It is in rich reds, purples, greens, blues, and orange-yellows on a field of grisaille. Ironwork on the exterior and interior oak doors is by master craftsman Samuel Yellin of Philadelphia.]
