The Germantown Cricket Club (GCC) gave us a fantastic experience. I wanted my wedding to be a night where our guests had good food, drinks, and music. I wanted a party to remember, and GCC happily provided that experience. From the beginning, they were very helpful. We selected the premier package with a few additions. Let me tell you, our guests are still raving about their experience at GCC. Here is the long and short of it all: Planning: They took excellent care of/with me, answered all my questions, and provided timelines and a day-of-event checklist. This process kept me on schedule. Menu Selections: They helped me create my food vision for both the cocktail reception and dinner. All were a hit with our guests. Wedding Events: We choose to have our wedding on site, followed by our cocktail reception and then dinner and dancing. All in one place, and it moved smoothly. Logistics: Rehearsal went well. Abigail and her team were present and worked well with us. They also worked well with our day of event coordinator. Other vendors: They worked well with other vendors and accommodated site visits for all of them. Other accommodations: they have a really cool groomsman and bridal suite. Ambiance and Atmosphere: I had an evening wedding in the winter. The space offers its own beautiful backdrops inside, and outside seemed amazing as well. Parking: They have on-site parking. Dancing: As per my DJ, the ballroom has excellent acoustics (design-wise). Bar: Bar service was terrific, and the selections, mixed drinks, etc, were great. The bottom line is that GCC provides you with all you could want in one spot. Worries about your ceremony space, reception, food, and drinks are not a factor when working with them. For me, this was a huge relief.

My husband and I had the most magical wedding day at the Germantown Cricket Club. It truly feels like a hidden gem in Philly! The classic, historic vibe was perfect for my wedding vision, and Janet was amazing to work with - a true professional! Every step of the planning process was smooth. Janet answered all the questions that my mom and I had very quickly during our 12 month planning timeline. She gave GREAT advice and guidance and it's clear that she loves what she does and is very good at it. She and the GCC staff were also great about letting us come by and check out the place (renovations were being done in 2021 and 2022) whenever we wanted to stop by.

A few highlights are below:
-The outdoor ceremony space was beautiful! The landscaping was perfect for our October wedding, and we actually were able to save money on ceremony florals since there were beautiful flowers all around the pergola.
-The ballroom was gorgeous! We loved the balcony, the new chandeliers, and most of all the big stage which was perfect for our band! Our guests danced the night away. We also loved the slighty separate bar area, where we had our photobooth and space for folks to hang and chat if they wanted a break from the dance floor. I never actually went to the bar because my personal attendant was always ready to hand me a drink, but I heard from guests that the bartenders were great.
-The food was delicious! Guests were raving about our cocktail hour appetizers (especially the bacon wrapped dates) and the entrees were large and yummy. We heard positive reviews about all our plated entrees, which included the short ribs, herb and parmesan chicken, and butternut squash ravioli.
-The all-inclusive pricing made wedding planning SO easy. I can't imagine having to deal with different vendors to handle catering, chairs/furniture, serveware, cake, etc. It was also easy to calculate up front what our costs would be.
-The staff were excellent. I was treated like a princess all day, and everyone from the personal attendant to the waiters and bartenders were great.
-Janet was flexible throughout the process - the week before the wedding I had some fluctuation in my guest list, and Janet was so helpful in giving me more time and not charging us for seats that would be empty. She also allowed us to come in the day before the wedding to set up our own DIY table centerpieces and decor, which was greatly appreciated and preventing us from having to hire someone to do it!

All in all, I highly recommend the Cricket Club. It was a great experience and an excellent value compared to other venues that I researched and toured.

Gorgeous space, accommodating staff, excellent value!!

Our wedding night at Germantown Cricket Club was truly magical. We had several out of town guests who were dazzled by the Germantown Cricket Club space, history, and presence. Everything from the beautiful ballroom, to the picturesque views of the tennis courts, to the warm and romantic candlelit atmosphere was all beyond what we could have imagined.

We worked with Janet to have two signature cocktails which the staff pulled off beautifully! But the food was what really blew people away. Everything was spectacular!! Our guests were raving about the food all night and days after. We worked with Janet to create a personal and decadent menu for both the cocktail hour and the dinner reception and we were so thrilled with how it all came together. So many many people also commented on how friendly the waitstaff was…. They were amazing! Everyone was so professional and on top of everything. All of our wants were anticipated by Janet and her team. They truly do a tremendous job of making sure every detail is perfect and that every guest is happy . Janet and Devon were always there when we needed.

Leading up to the event, Janet does an excellent job of listening to what you want but also sharing advice in a really helpful way. She has so much experience at Germantown and elsewhere so her perspective is so valuable. And most importantly, Janet helped to keep things fun! When we were feeling stressed or overwhelmed, she has a way of making you know they've got everything under control and that this is supposed to be a fun and joyous day! The Germantown staff take care of everything so that you can truly just be present and enjoy a wonderful celebration. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so happy to have had our wedding day Germantown Cricket Club.

I don't know if there are adequate words to express how much we appreciate all GCC did to make our daughter's day so spectacular! The evening was absolutely perfect (if only it wasn't such a blur to us!)

The entire team did not miss a beat. People are still raving about the food (in particular the duck wraps and the bacon wrapped dates!), the club is dazzling with all of its renovations (there were several former members in attendance who couldn't believe their eyes!), and the staff were so kind and attentive.

Janet, in particular took such good care of us. We felt like royalty being able to dress in the bridal suite, and she made sure we ate (and drank!) enough. She was unflappable as we made last minute seating changes. And she helped make sure that not a single detail was overlooked.

Devon and Ed also went above and beyond to be sure that every detail was perfect. Devon my fashion consultant and also making the good save on the candle lighting set up. Plus all the other little things that I know they did behind the scenes--even turning over ever rock to try to find that Aperol.

There were many more involved in our special night--they each deserve our kudos for their great professionalism, kindness and high attention to detail service.

We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our daughter's wedding than the Germantown Cricket Club! The food was phenomenal, service exceptional and the newly renovated interior exquisite. Our guests were able to enjoy their cocktails in the bar area, expansive first floor and even on the porch outside with ample seating everywhere. The expansive outdoor field was an ideal place for memorable pictures to be taken. The newly renovated ballroom was exquisite and we particularly liked the fact that they had a stage for the band we hired. The food from the crudite to the dessert plate was phenomenal. Everyone loved either the salmon or tender short ribs that were served. I cannot say enough about GCC and Janet whose enthusiasm was a major factor in our decision as well. The renovations they recently completed were an added bonus! Everything from the first floor cocktail area to the restrooms to the grand ballroom make it look like a 5 star hotel while maintaining it's character that is unique as well. It exceeded my expectations!

I cannot say enough good things about this venue! The staff, the food, the venue are all AMAZING. They went above and beyond for our wedding. It was better than I could have ever dreamed. All of our guests were raving all night about how phenomenal everything was and how much fun they were having. We lost our original wedding 6 weeks prior to our wedding and the Germantown Cricket Club/Janet came to our rescue. They have been exceptional start to finish. At the end of the night my husband and I were actually so thankful and happy we lost our original venue because our wedding turned out ten times better by having it here. Do yourself a favor and have your wedding at the Cricket Club. It’ll be the best decision you ever make.

The Germantown Cricket Club is truly an all-inclusive wedding venue, and their team is dedicated to customizing offerings to provide you with the wedding of your dreams.

Their newly renovated ceremony space on the west lawn provided a picturesque backdrop to begin our big day. Following the ceremony, guests were greeted with signature cocktails and butlered hors d'oeuvres to enjoy in the first floor lounge or out on the gorgeous outdoor patio.

The reception was held in the spacious 2nd floor ballroom where guests could dance the night away, or take a quick breather in the adjacent brick-lined bar area. Another unique offering of this venue was an ice luge martini bar, which we were able to customize with our own design - a huge hit with our guests!

THE FOOD: At some venues we visited, we knew we might have to sacrifice top-tier food in exchange for a beautiful space, but that was not the case at the GCC. Chef Jeremy offered a variety of hors d'oeuvres - from butternut squash bruschetta with whipped ricotta, to the Philadelphia classic cheesesteak eggrolls with horseradish cream - every bite had us going back for more. For dinner, the GCC has wide selection of dishes and even went so far as to create a custom entree for our big day. Guests raved about the quality of the filet and vegetarian dishes alike.

THE COST: At face value, we thought the GCC might be out of our budget. In reality, this venue was one of the most affordable in the area based on the simple fact that it is all-inclusive. Janet and her team cover everything A to Z, from ceremony setup, hors d'oeuvres, open bar, dinner, to dessert AND cake, for a single price per person. No surprise 'service' fees, and the GCC allowed us to customize our wedding package to fit both our needs and our budget.

THE SERVICE: Every single staff member at the GCC was welcoming, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that our guests enjoyed themselves on our special night. Ed, the General Manager catered to our every need. Janet, the venue coordinator was a calming and supportive guide as she helped make our original wedding vision come to life, and was with us every step of the way.

I truly cannot recommend this venue enough. The support from the GCC team, delicious food, and full access to the beautiful historic grounds made for the perfect day - not only for us, but for all of our friends and family.

We are so glad we had our wedding at Germantown. The historic beauty, location, and ease made our weekend just amazing. Working with Sheralda and Mr. Don to plan our ceremony, reception, and Sunday Brunch was pain free. Sheralda was flexible and made all of our ideas a reality. The day of went so smoothly. We absolutely could not be happier, and definitely recommend this venue for your wedding!!

My Husband and I chose the Germantown Cricket Club as our wedding reception venue for its historical old-world charm and gorgeous grounds. And boy did she shine with the added English garden florals, black tie attire, and live music flowing through the open-air porches. But this review really is intended to highlight Chris, the director of catering and his staff. Our wedding was INCREDIBLE because of them. Chris worked his tail off to ensure everything was perfect. His staff kept our guests pampered while laughing and dancing right along side them. We can't count the times we've been told by someone it was the best affair they've ever attended. The GCC is truly a gem, and I'm so happy with how seamless and enjoyable Chris made the planning process.
