History
In 1906, Ellis Gimbel established the country club with a few of Philadelphia’s captains of commerce and industry. They created two golf courses, a dozen tennis courses, a clubhouse, and a swimming pool. Over the years, the club became the home course to famous professional golfers, such as Walter Hagen and Ted Kroll. The venue has also hosted prestigious golf events, such as The Philadelphia Amateur Championships and the US Open Qualifiers. Today, the venue honors its history through its amenities and event services.
