About
The Franke Building is a historic space that serves as a stunning wedding venue in Charleston, South Carolina. There, nearlyweds can enjoy impressive architecture in a former industrial setting, which sets a romantic tone for their special day.
Facilities and Capacity
The Franke Building’s history dates back to 1859, when it was founded by Prussian immigrant C.D. Franke. It originally served as a manufacturing and storage unit for a carriage company that marketed carriages and wagons throughout the Southeast. Through the years, the company expanded into supplying carriage parts and more, and by the early 1900s, the building became home to an auto parts manufacturer. While it closed in 1981, it was beautifully renovated and transformed into a stunning office space. Today, weddings and special events can also be held here, where the early-twentieth-century industrial architecture creates a stunning backdrop for your special day. The flowing water feature creates a serene atmosphere while the exposed brick walls and piping combine with wooden beams to create a cozy, inviting vibe. Several suites feature dangling chandeliers and rich hues, along with beautifully furnished common areas and floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping city views.
