We had our ceremony and reception at the Causeway Club and it couldn't have been more perfect! Since we both work in Bar Harbor, we wanted to have all our wedding events in Southwest Harbor on the "quiet side" of the island. Larry and everyone at the Causeway Club were extremely accommodating, and the beach at low tide made the perfect ceremony spot for our 70 guests. The barn was just lovely for our rustic, laid back reception.

I think my experience with The Causeway Club may be different than others, because my family has held membership at the club for a number of years. That said, Larry and the team at the club were absolutely wonderful to deal with. We booked almost 2 years in advance, and when the day came Larry let us run the show just the way we wanted! Our tent company and caterers were given free reign and we were able to have the dream day we had been waiting for. The best part was that we had the club from noon on Friday (for setup and rehearsal dinner) all the way through noon on Sunday (for breakdown) - flexibility was definitely the key here! I rated 4 stars on quality of service, responsiveness and professionalism just because it's really a family club - it's not the kind of place you go to get waited on, and that's exactly what we were looking for.
