I can't say enough good things about The Beauty Shop Kilohana and particularly the owner and sweetest lady on Earth, Jody! I wanted to get a golden bronze glow, a French shellac manicure, and toe polish for my wedding and a manicure and pedicure for my mother too.

Jody was more than happy to talk me through the process and "dos and don'ts" of spray tanning and suggested the best day and time to come in for the tan based upon my ceremony date and time (about a day or two before the wedding/event is recommended). She even went out of her way to move back my appointment when our helicopter tour was unexpectedly rescheduled. When I requested a body scrub before the spray-tan, Jody asked her skilled therapist Andra to do a "shower-less" body scrub and sponge bath--something they don't have on the "menu" but Jody made sure it happened just because she's extremely dedicated to putting customers first.

Just as Jody assured me, my spray tan turned into a beautiful golden color by the early hours of the next morning. When I expressed some anxiety that it might rub off during a horseback riding lesson I was taking the next day or a dip in the ocean, Jody generously promised I could come back for a touch up to make sure I looked my best on my wedding day.

My fiance, family, and I were staying in Poipu which was a pleasant 20 minute-ish drive through the famous "tree tunnel"to the Kilohana Beauty Shop. For those of you who might be flying in or out of the Lihue airport, this location of the Beauty Shop is just minutes away from the airport so if you'd like to stop in for some beautification upon landing or before departure, it's very convenient to do so. The beautiful Kilohana plantation grounds and adorable Beauty Shop house only add to the serenity and magic one feels on Kauai.

All of the services my mother and I received from Jody and her staff were great but the best part of my experience with the Beauty Shop Kilohana was how at ease I felt with Jody and how she
