Do you remember the food at any wedding you’ve been to? Probably not. Well our guests do! Even 3 months after our wedding, our guests are still raving about how delicious their meal was. If you’re looking to have a wedding (or any event) in Vermont, you should not look any further than the Barnard Inn. The people are friendly, the location is beautiful, and the food is freaking amazing!Sent on 05/23/2018
The property (restaurant, barn, garden, and pond) is very well maintained and absolutely beautiful. There is a gazebo by the pond that makes for a stunning wedding ceremony backdrop. Will took the time to sit down with us and the parents of the bride to go over the wedding menu and other details of the venue. He listened to all of our concerns, took notes, and was able to address them far beyond our expectations. From making sure there were enough bartenders serving our specially requested drinks, to having plenty of meat in the chicken pot pies, Will was on top of everything.
The bride + entourage got ready in the recently renovated space below the barn and Will made some luncheon food for the bridal party to eat throughout the day, which was delicious and we had to stop ourselves from overeating. Corinna came in every once in a while to check on things, and even went out of her way to bring the bride (who was sick) some extra tea, honey, and lemon.
We decided on pumpkin risotto, chicken pot pies, and braised short ribs for our wedding meal (as well as horderves during the cocktail hour) and we were not disappointed. All of the food was locally sourced, and the quality and presentation were what you would expect from a high-end restaurant. When the meals came out, everyone was envious of everyone else’s food because it all looked so good.
We could not have asked for more from a wedding venue and are so incredibly happy with everything that Will and Corinna did to help make our wedding as special and amazing as it was.

Wow! If we could do it all again we wouldn't change a thing! The Barnard Inn made our dreams a reality with their unique Vermont setting amongst the Green Mountains of Vermont, their communication and organization, their unforgettable food (the most delicious fried chicken & 24 hour smoked brisket was just a start) and specialty cocktails (lavender Moscow mule with homemade ginger beer & a classic old fashioned) which still have our guests talking, their kindness that made us feel like family and so much more. Corinna (event coordinator) and Will (chef) are an excellent husband and wife team who's happiness comes from the smiles they see on their guests faces. We highly recommend The Barnard Inn as your wedding reception location!!!Sent on 07/18/2017

We had our wedding at a summer camp in the area and hired the Barnard Inn as the catering and bar. Will, the owner/chef, was fantastic. He was responsive to emails, organized, and listened to our preferences. He was also able to accommodate two guests with very restricted dietary requirements (they told us they were amazed by the beautiful and delicious meal they received), with very little work on our part - we just sent a list of what they couldn't have and he came up with something. He also coordinated with rentals and even handled ordering napkins (we didn't do any other linen rentals).Sent on 10/13/2015
We are in NYC, so we only met with Will twice, the first to discuss what we liked/didn't like, after which he developed a menu that we refined over email, then we met again around 5-6 weeks before the wedding to go over logistics and details. He was able to accommodate all of our requests (specific type of soda, specialty cocktail) and even was able to make a family recipe for dessert. He also remembered from our first meeting that we love garlic, so the two meat main courses were served on a platter divided by several roasted heads of garlic, which was a fantastic surprise!
All of the responses we received from our guests about the food were very positive. We weren't able to try the appetizers ourselves, but we did have the salad and 3 main courses (2 meat, 1 veggie pasta), which were all amazing. The food was served family style, which everyone liked and worked very well, since they got to try some of everything. The service was great and no one had to wait for food, unlike plated or buffet.
Our planner/coordinator had nothing but great things to say about working with Will/the Barnard Inn. We were very pleased and definitely recommend them, and I know we'll be back to the restaurant whenever we're in the area.
