I came across the Barn at Silver Oaks through Instagram (many years ago now), along with many many other venues. However, there was something truly unique about THIS barn, and I continued to watch many couples get married over the years telling myself that I (no fiancé yet!) would some day join them. I watched as the owners made annual improvements, making the venue more and more beautiful each year. Jared and I's journey with Gene & Veronica began over 2 years ago. We secured our date without even seeing the venue (it was winter) and we patiently waited until the spring to visit. As soon as we arrived, we knew this was our spot. Gene and Veronica are beyond humble and genuinely want you to have the most memorable day. They will stop at nothing to help you get there, and there are no words or enough thank you's to express the gratitude I have towards both of them, their staff, and family. We are both honored to have been one of the couples who have had a wedding here, and without Gene and Veronica, the day just wouldn't have been so special. Both beautiful inside and out (yes, the venue is too!), Gene and Veronica make every step of the way, every decision, every detail effortless. I'll never forget our wedding day...it was truly a dream come true!!!

I met with Gene and Veronica at their home for a small wedding show hightlight their favorite vendors and answering any question you could have about the barn. They both make you feel like family right away and their family has taken such time and care to make their property perfect for your day.

They normally don't open for winter viewing but becuase I am such an visual person Gene trudged out in the snow with us so we could see the venue. I couldn't have been more greatful!

We ended up choosing a venue farther south but letting go of this amazing venue and this amazing team was exceptionally hard! Would HIGHLY reccomend this venue to anyone getting married. You won't find a more dedicated team anywhere!

Start to finish, Veronica and Gene Carbona were wonderful. The Barn at Silver Oaks is beautiful, rustic yet elegant. Our daughter’s vision for her wedding was met completely with the help of Veronica’s wedding planning expertise. Being a destination wedding, we literally could not have done this without her. Her recommended vendors were great and exactly fitting for this beautiful November wedding. An alternative plan for inclement weather was well thought out, and although it was a bit chilly, the decision to follow through with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour was left up to the bride. It was magical.

Veronica is professional and keeps to a timeline from the beginning of the planning through the wedding itself and beyond. I was so pleased with how Veronica and Gene made our daughter and son-in-law the priority creating a day that they will remember forever. They felt catered to which is how it should be on your wedding day. Thank you, Veronica and Gene, from the entire Ragonese/Gullman family on a job very well done.

I cannot say enough good things about Gene and Veronica (owners). From the moment you meet this pair you get a vibe that they are part of your family and they are already thinking of ways to make YOUR day better than the last one they had. They are responsive, honest, innovative, and always ready to help you with any questions you have. After all you only do this once! The Barn speaks for itself, large beautiful, and a mix of styles that make it the rustic fairy tale venue. I highly recommend their services and venue.

More than we could have asked for! Gene & Veronica and their family were all SO helpful with the entire planning process. We knew the second we saw the venue that we needed to have this be the place we decided to say "I do".

Both were very involved in the process and Veronica was so amazing and we are so blessed she was also our day-of coordinator. They deserve all the praise they receive and more. We are so happy to have invested in such an amazing family business and a beautiful location.

What a joy to work with Gene and Veronica. We planned our Maine wedding from Colorado and could not have been happier. It was the most perfect day we could have imagined.

The Barn at the Silver Oaks Estate is a fantastic wedding venue nestled in the quaint and beautiful Winthrop Maine Lakes Region. Not only is the barn and the outdoor ceremony site absolutely stunning, but the owners are some of the kindest and caring people that my fiancee´ and I have met. couldn't be more excited to get married at this wonderful location surrounded by caring and wonderful people!

My husband and I visited the barn before we even got engaged. It was stunning and Gene and Veronica are even more amazing. They truly make the experience and we booked this venue before we even got engaged because we loved them and the venue so much. We had a Nor'easter on our wedding day but they came together and made our wedding amazing. Being inside was intimate and beautiful. I could not imagine a better place to get married and a better set of people to help us through the process. If you want the best wedding ever with the most genuine and amazing people, book this venue and get Veronica as your planner if she is available. You will not be disappointed. We truly felt like we were part of their family and had not one worry about how are wedding would turn out. We knew in their hands it would be the best day ever and it honestly was. I highly recommend calling them to schedule a showing. You will not regret it.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Poppy Leavers needs an attitude adjustment. I have worked with this venue as a vendor on several occasions and the owners are very professional, hard working and accomodating in ensuring that the brides, bridal party and guests are comfortable and enjoy their special day. I have also worked with other vendors, such as Cafe 130 Catering (now Lilac Mixology and Catering), who are also great to work with and I would highly recommend their services. (Side bar, their name change had nothing to do with this venue and everything to do with their growth and expansion). I have also worked with Poppy Leavers and on those few occasions, the brides were less than impressed with his work. As a result, I would surmise his lack of business success is likely due to this reason and not the venue.
Bottom line is I have enjoyed working with this venue very much when given the opportunity and would highly recommend. The venue is beautiful, both inside and out, the owners go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and the day special for everyone attending.

Our story with Gene & Veronica and The Barn at Silver Oaks began 2 years ago. We had looked at countless other barns/venues and had made the decision to do a destination wedding. I had seen a post on Facebook about a new wedding venue opening up in Winthrop, Maine...we were in town so we decided to take a look at “another barn”. That day was the BEST decision we made and a day we will never forget. Veronica and Gene~greeted us with hugs...as if we had met a thousand times before, and from that day on we became “family”...we would keep in touch, attend open house events to see the progress they had made to the barn...every time leaving amazed and more excited for our special.
The week before our wedding, we met to finalize the last minute details. Their willingness to make sure everyone from the florist, DJ/Photographer to catering and bar service, were doing everything we asked...not only for the business but someone who would be as passionate and dedicated to making our day perfect in every way-exceeded our expectations.
I will without a doubt tell you that these two will make your day the single most amazing day of your life-from the personal touches, attention to detail and the way the barn reflected everything we envisioned for our day. These two have got it down..they knocked our wedding out of the park. They are amazing couple, with the most wonderful staff. The joy we felt on our wedding day was so immense but to look over and see this amazing couple just as happy as we were, was a feeling that will never be forgotten.
Gene and Veronica you will forever have two walking billboards in us and we want you to know that it was because of your dream, that ours was able to come true! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are forever grateful to the both of you.
