The Barn at Gully Tavern

Just had my wedding there yesterday and it was so perfect I had to write a review asap. The owners of the venue are so incredibly kind and flexible. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and there are multiple options for ceremony locations. About halfway through the reception the area lost power (no one's fault) but thankfully we had many candles for decor that lit up the barn while they worked on getting the generator running. They were on top of it and the party continued even without the lights for a while! Amazing people and amazing venue, thank you for being apart of our big day!

The owners, Robert and Dawn are the absolute best! They have all the necessities and have thought of it all. They have so many recommendations and are super helpful! They are ready to pitch in a hand whenever to ensure the day goes smoothly. Highly recommend using them! The venue is breath taking! Had the best wedding day a girl could have asked for!

We were becoming a little discouraged in our wedding venue search with all the restrictions and extras at most places, and when a family member recommended The Barn at Gully Tavern and we were absolutely blown away. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but Dawn and Robert go above and beyond to serve you as the couple and make sure your day goes flawlessly.
Robert is very responsive to emails, calls, and texts. As I began purchasing some decor I had some additional questions about table sizes, etc. He was very quick to respond and always with great detail and care to answer any question I may have. Dawn even made time for us to revisit the venue a couple of weeks prior to our ceremony so that we could refresh our memories and make plans. They are genuinely so kind and caring and truly want you to have the best wedding possible.
Some of the reasons we loved and picked The Barn at Gully Tavern were how accommodating Dawn and Robert are, the ceremony site options, prep kitchen, and the Groomsmen and Bridal Suites. There are several large furniture features that are included in the venue rental including handmade wooden tables, chairs, white round tables, folding chairs, buffets, barrels, a large wooden bar, ceremony arbor, and fireplace. All of these can be used or stored to your liking or moved wherever you would like around the venue. We loved the versatility that meant that we could really make the space our own and use it how we wanted.
Many venues have strict time limits which would have made it difficult to set up/take down etc. The Barn at Gully Tavern is extremely accommodating as long as you communicate your needs and the space is available. We were able to move several large items into the venue on Thursday prior to the Saturday ceremony. We then had access to the venue all day on Friday to decorate the venue. With COVID restrictions we were having a difficult time finding a place to host the rehearsal dinner and were so relieved when Dawn and Robert allowed us to host the rehearsal at the venue at no additional cost. It was a beautiful evening sitting on the back porch of the venue with a view of the pond eating our low country boil - everyone in the bridal party loved it!
Farmville is just a short 15-minute drive from the venue. We had no problem securing hotels in the town of Farmville, and our out-of-town guests did not have any issues finding the venue. Having the town of Farmville nearby made it easy to secure last-minute items, food, etc.
The Bridal Suite is exquisite! It is beautifully decorated, spacious, and well-lit. There was plenty of room to have all my bridesmaids in the suite with the hair and make-up artists. The hair and make-up artists loved the tablespace, vanity stations, and lighting in the room that made it very easy for them to set up. In addition to the Bridal Suite which is in the main house, we also had access to the dining room, living room, and kitchen of the main house. This was great for family members who arrived early to have a place to stay out of the heat. Unfortunately, at the time of our wedding, the separate Groomsmen’s Suite that is on-site was not yet finished; however, the groomsmen were able to use the space to change into their suits after doing some last-minute setup the morning of the ceremony. I am sure once it is completed if anything like the rest of the venue it will be great.
I highly recommend this venue not only for the natural beauty of the space and great decor but especially for how wonderful it is to work with Dawn and Robert. They truly make the place a perfect location for any wedding.

They were absolutely amazing to work with! I could not have had asked for anyone more flexible, caring, and helpful! They treated us like family! Even chased my dog across the yard for me! I would 110% recommend them!

The owners helped make my day a DREAM COME TRUE!! They went above and beyond to help out in anyway they could, which really helped all my wedding day stress!! Even with Covid-19 restrictions it was the PERFECT day!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience getting married at the Barn at Gully Tavern! The owners were extremely helpful, and worked with us throughout the entire process. This really helped me be less stressed with the entire wedding planning process! Not only that, but the barn itself is BEAUTIFUL! The pictures turned out amazing! We had both our wedding ceremony and reception inside of the barn (to escape the July heat), and the turn around of tables and chairs happened without a hitch! The tables there are solid wood (gorgeous!), and hand-built from trees on the farm! If anyone is looking for a spacious barn, with a cozy outdoor-feel, this venue is for you!

Venue is superb; owners are terrific; wedding was fantastic. All tables, chairs, etc are in excellent condition. As a wedding coordinator, I know that a venue owner can make or break a wedding; this family - owned operation excels at efficiency, professionalism, and friendliness. I highly recommend The Barn at Gully Tavern.

Ever since I was a little girl I had dreamed of having a Christmas Wedding and thanks to The Barn at Gully Tavern, this dream came true. The owners went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly for our big day! The Christmas trees in the barn are gorgeous! The Christmas decor was perfect! One of my favorite things about this venue is the wooden tables along with a variety of wooden chairs that went around these tables. The barn looked beautiful with the lights in the windows, the wreaths hanging from the windows and doors, and the lights around the barn. The owners will do anything they can to make sure your event is everything you ever wanted it to be. If you want to have your dream wedding, I would definitely recommend The Barn at Gully Tavern.
