Hugh Piney and his staff did a fabulous job for my wedding. Hugh assured me that the Chef could put together a wonderful vegan meal. We had hot appetizers and a vegan buffet. Not only were we pleased... but our guests went out of their way to tell Hugh and his staff how delicious the food was and how terrific the wait staff were. Many long time vegan friends said it was the most delicious food they ever had at an event. Hugh was always available to answer my questions and to meet with me. My wedding and reception were at the Dinsmore. With the view of the Hudson Valley, spacious room and beautiful place settings... I thank Hugh for making my wedding a dream come true!

Teri was amazing. She helped me out so much and was available for all of my many questions. The food was wonderful and the facility in Staatsburg was everything we wanted!!!! Easily one of the best decisions we made.

Terrapin impressed us in every way possible. Their food was delicious, inventive, and reflected both us as a couple and the local offerings. Service moved efficiently and quickly--I've never seen a wedding where everyone got their plates in such a short period of time. But Terrapin really shined when handling aspects and issues we didn't expect. A few examples: 1) About 6-7 months prior to our wedding, they experienced an unexpected change in staff. Josh, the owner/executive chef, swooped in and personally handled our wedding for us to make sure we didn't suffer because of this development. This not only assured a smooth transition, but Josh actually improved the menu offerings. This commitment to client service went a long way with us, as we were planning our wedding from 300 miles away. 2) When we hired Terrapin, we weren't expecting to get much more than a caterer, but their event manager, Ben, gave us tremendous amounts of advice to help us with rentals, timing, and selection of/coordination with other vendors. Had we decided to hold our ceremony and reception in the same location, Ben would have eliminated any need for a wedding planner/coordinator. Again, because we were handling everything ourselves, and from out of town, this was of significant help to us. 3) Terrapin willingly volunteered options to help us stay in our budget that weren't necessarily in their interest; e.g., they suggested we buy our own booze (which we did) which kept the cost down (it did) though at their loss of profit on selling us the booze themselves. We greatly appreciated this unselfishness. 4) Ben, the event coordinator/day-of manager, was waiting for us with a tray of food when we arrived at our reception. Because we had another 30 minutes of photos before we could join the party, this was awesome.
You definitely get what you pay for with Terrapin, and its worth it: for the food, for the service, and for the confidence and peace of mind on the big day.
