We are so happy we chose Evan and Sweets by E for our wedding cake and cupcakes! From the very beginning, she made the process so easy and enjoyable. The tasting was such a fun experience, and every flavor we tried was absolutely delicious. It was hard to even pick our favorites!

When we finally saw the cake and cupcakes on our wedding day, we were so happy. They were not only beautiful, but they truly exceeded our expectations. Every detail was perfect and fit our vision so well. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing everything tasted. So many people went back for seconds!

Evan was an absolute delight to work with! She took the time to understand our needs and made sure we were getting what we needed and what we wanted. She was transparent about everything we would need for the size and type of wedding we hosting, and from just a few inspiration photos, she crafted a cake that surpassed all expectations! Delivery and setup were flawless, and she went above and beyond by coordinating with our florist to ensure the cake florals were arranged perfectly.

The cake was not only stunning but also incredibly delicious! My husband and I were amazed—this was not the usual overly sweet wedding cake that prioritizes looks over taste. Even guests who aren’t typically fans of sweets were raving about how fantastic the cake was.

Absolutely DELISH! Evan was so great to work with (a JMU alum like myself!) We were able to sample a variety of different flavors, as well as she made our sweet dreams come true. Our guests raved about every cupcake flavor - there were no leftovers! Flavors: Lemon Cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Cinnamon-Brown Sugar Cake with Vanilla Buttercream, Chocolate Cake with Cookies & Cream Buttercream, Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Cupcakes were so easy for our guests to grab and enjoy it was perfect. We had a Funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream sweetheart cake that was the most perfect size for us to cut and take pictures with, as well as safe for our anniversary. SO yummy! 10/10!

Our wedding cake was exactly what we were hoping for. We sent Evan some inspiration pictures and she helped us translate those pictures into the simple, yet elegant wedding cake of our dreams. She offers a wide variety of flavor/icing/filling options and it was a blast to taste our way through our top choices. Not only was the wedding cake beautiful to look at, but it was delicious too! Evan was easy to work with and the quality of her work speaks for itself. Can't recommend her enough!

Sweets by E came recommended to us by our caterer due to her being a local, small business owner – a rarity in the DC wedding scene, apparently. We reached out to Evan about 5 months before our wedding to plan a tasting and design consultation. After an hour debating which flavor was the best, we chose the Royal Wedding with a white and lavender buttercream. On our wedding day, Evan arrived early, finished decorating the cake with flowers from our florist, and put our cake topper on before she ran off to another wedding. Despite Evan’s busy schedule, we never felt secondary. She answered all of our questions and even a last second, surprise request by the bride – a chocolate cupcake for the groom. Evan is an amazing, detail-oriented baker and we highly recommend her!

Evan was fantastic and did an incredible job with our wedding cake. It was timeless and tasted fantastic. She is very easy to work with and cannot recommend more! We’ll be back for other life events for sure!!

Evan was easy to work with right from the beginning! She answered all of our questions and was so willing to go beyond and above for us. Not to mention, our wedding cake was to die for!!! All of our guests raved about it afterwards. Simply delicious!!

A friend of ours recommended Evan’s services when we first started planning for our wedding cake. She is really easy to work with, she is responsive and attentive, and extremely talented. She quickly understood our vision for our simple yet elegant 2-tier wedding cake.
Her menu consists of a broad variety of flavors and for cake lovers like us it was difficult to decide, so of course we had to sign up for double the dose of tasting boxes with various flavor assortments. They all were delicious. We ended up going the classical route and chose a simple vanilla cake with vanilla cream and fresh strawberries, mainly because we figured that’s how our guests may likely enjoy the cake best and also it went well with our design. We also placed a large order of Macarons, because who doesn’t love Macarons – we got most of the flavors Evan offers!
On the day of, Evan delivered our cake and sweets to our wedding venue and finished the design with the flowers supplied by our florist. Everything was incredibly tasty and fresh and we received a many compliments from our wonderful guest. I must emphasize that the design was on spot and more; E is a cake wizard and her work is phenomenal!
We will continue spreading the word about E and surely use her services in future (fingers crossed she will have time to make our taste buds happy and our gym memberships busy).
