If you are looking for a fun, personable, organized, and professional DJ for your wedding, my husband and I highly recommend DJ Sobe. He not only met with us on multiple occasions to keep us updated, but also took the time to get to know us as a couple and see how the wedding planning experience was coming along as a whole. When it came to wedding planning, the DJ was the one aspect of our wedding we did not need to worry about. That is a testimate to how oganized and thorough DJ Sobe is with his clients leading up to the big day. S&S Productions has a wide variety of services they are able to provide from great sound equipment, to up-lighting, you name it. Throughout the reception Sobe made sure all the little traditions of any wedding had enough time allocated to them but maintained the schedule perfectly to a tee. None of the events felt rushed or disconnected from the celebration. His playlist was great at getting people involved on the dance floor and the overall tone of the night was a fun memorable party. DJ Sobe is must have name on your guest list.

Sobe and his team were outstanding. We had our reception at Michigan Central Station in Detroit, which is a beautiful but demanding room, and they handled the sound and lighting like they'd worked there a hundred times. Everything was set up early, dialed in, and never a single hiccup all night.

What stood out most was how well they read the room. The transitions through our grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, and six different speeches were seamless — we never had to think about it. Once dancing opened up, the floor was packed from the first song until the lights came up at eleven.

Leading up to the day, Sobe was responsive, flexible, and genuinely easy to work with. He took the time to understand what we wanted the night to feel like and delivered exactly that. If you're getting married in the Detroit area, book them.

DJ Sobe and the S&S team were absolutely fantastic! We could not have imagined a more lively and energetic dance floor at our wedding. He followed our guidance and read our minds for the playlist at hand and we couldn’t believe it! He controlled the timeline wonderfully and kept us on schedule. We got many compliments from guests on the energy and professionalism. He truly mixes hits and classic insanely well. The lighting looked phenomenal, he was familiar with the venue, and the photo booth was a big hit! Apart from the big day, he was very kind, responsive and easy to work with. A great Dj was at the top of our list for important aspects of our wedding, and we couldn’t have picked a better team to run our reception!

Where do I even begin?! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Sobe, Dennis, and the entire S&S Productions and Entertainment team! They went above and beyond to make our wedding at Basil Place absolutely unforgettable!

From the beginning, I had a very specific vision for our wedding. I wanted something timeless, romantic, elegant, and classy, with my love for classic artists like Al Green, Michael Jackson, and Frank Sinatra incorporated throughout the evening. Dennis understood my vision perfectly and brought it to life beyond anything I could have imagined!

Our ceremony sound was flawless! Every word was crystal clear, the music was perfectly timed, and everything sounded incredible. Cocktail hour had that beautiful, romantic Italian atmosphere I had dreamed of, with Frank Sinatra setting the perfect tone.

And the reception?! Absolutely breathtaking! Sobe and his incredible lighting crew completely transformed our event center at Basil Place. The lighting was stunning, and their attention to detail was remarkable!

I especially want to recognize Sobe, who truly went above and beyond to make sure George and I were taken care of. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire experience. He has such a passion for what he does, and it shows in every detail. Knowing we were in such wonderful hands meant more than he probably realizes!

Dennis was equally incredible! He constantly checked in with us, made sure we had everything we needed, and even asked if there were particular songs we wanted throughout the evening. I had a few last-minute changes, and he handled every single one with such grace and professionalism. He kept our wedding classy and elegant while somehow keeping the dance floor packed all night!

And we cannot forget Anthony Jackson on saxophone! He absolutely rocked the dance floor and brought such an unforgettable energy to our reception!

What truly sets this team apart is the genuine love they have for what they do. They don’t simply provide a service; they pour their hearts into creating something extraordinary.

Sobe and his team have become so much more than wedding vendors. They have truly become an extension of our Basil Place family, and we are so grateful for the relationships we’ve built with them.

To any couple planning their wedding, I cannot recommend S&S Productions and Entertainment enough! Their talent, professionalism, kindness, and dedication are unmatched.

Working with Shawn & Sobe for the first time was such a great experience! As a wedding planner, I’ve worked with many DJs over the years, and one of the things that really stood out to me was how responsive and involved he was throughout the entire planning process.
He answered questions thoroughly, helped us figure out the couple’s needs, and stayed on top of all the music details well in advance. A lot of DJs I’ve worked with don’t really check in until one or two weeks before the wedding, so having someone who was proactive from the beginning made such a difference and gave us confidence that everything would run smoothly.

There are also a few little things that have become pet peeves of ours over the years, things we shouldn’t have to remind a DJ about and he naturally handled all of them. For example, he made sure there was transition music between each part of the program, so there were no awkward moments of silence in the ballroom. Those small details make a huge difference in how polished and seamless a wedding feels.

He also brought his team and efficiently handled the MC, DJ, photobooth, and lighting with exactly the right number of people. We’ve worked with vendors before who bring a huge team that ends up standing around, which ultimately means additional vendor meals and unnecessary costs for the couple. His team was organized, efficient, and clearly knew what they were doing.

The ceremony location was also about 20 minutes away from the reception, and he coordinated everything seamlessly with the team he had. From a planner’s perspective, it was really impressive to see how smoothly everything was handled without overcomplicating things.

Most importantly, he was laid-back, respectful, and incredibly easy to work with. And honestly, he didn’t need to tell me how many years of experience he has which I could see it in the way he worked. He knew how to read the crowd, keep the energy going, and had the dance floor completely full all the way until midnight!

Our team would absolutely love to work with him again. He made our job easier, took care of the details without needing to be reminded, and delivered an amazing experience for the couple and their guests. Highly recommend!
