My husband and I hired Luz as our planner, caterer and florist for our wedding, this past August.

Decor and Rentals:
I had a lot of ideas and she was great at helping me sort them out and guiding me through the wedding planning process. I am Mexican and new i wanted Mexican food served during cocktail hour and dinner but i also didn't want a typical "Mexican theme" wedding theme. I love literature and wanted to incorporate that. And i wanted my bridal party to wear white. I like to describe our wedding as Zapata meets Shakespeare in a California garden. On Wedding Day Luz delivered! We were both so happy with the look and vibe. Tips for props: shop for your own and through out your planning meetings let Luz know what you have and she will give you ideas on where and when to use them. She will schedule a drop off with you and have everything neatly packed for you after your event. Or rent from her partnering vendors! She will coordinate drop of and pick up for you!

Flowers:
I bounced back and forth on flowers, colors and styles multiple times.Usually describing what i wanted with feelings and not so much colors. Every time she made note of what i liked and on or mock day blew me away. i also described what i wanted as our ceremony backdrop, showed her some photos and her team made it happen. Trust her process, she's an expert when it comes to wedding planning.

Food:
We absolutely loved all her food! To this day our guests are still raving about the "ceviche" and "birria" we had on the menu. My favorite: Vegan Enchiladas (and no I am not vegan).

Words can't express how amazing Luz was to work with! My husband and I live in Maryland, but because most of our family lives in CA we decided to have our wedding in LA. Needless to say I was super anxious about planning a wedding from the opposite side of the country... however, Luz could not have made the planning process easier or less stressful! She was wonderful and literally took care of everything for us. She took care of our flowers, tables, ceremony decorations, coordinating, catering... she literally did it all and the day was absolutely flawless. Her decor was amazing and her flower arrangements were to die for! She also did the flower arrangements for the bridal party-- stunning! My husband is Mexican, so we wanted traditional Mexican cuisine for our guests-- Luz's cooking was second best to only his mother :) She was also super flexible and worked with us so that his mother could provide one of his favorite dished- mole con pollo y tamales. I would highly recommend Luz's services. She was exceptional :)

Luz was absolutely AMAZING. My wedding was in May at the LA River Center and Gardens which Luz knows inside and out. Everything we asked for she did. The decorations were beautiful. We received so many compliments from our guests. She was also our caterer and everyone was so shocked on how delicious the food was. She exceeded our expectations and I definitely recommend her. She is a professional and I’m glad I hired her services for my wedding.

My wedding was in April. Luz and her team far exceeded our expectations. Luz was in charge of running the timeline, catering, and decorating the venue. The venue looked absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. We received so many compliments from our guest on the food and the décor.

Luz and her staff did an absolutely amazing job with my wedding in November 2015 at the LA River Center. She went above and beyond and made sure our day was exactly how we had imagined. From the flowers, to the candles, to the timeline, everything was perfect. Wedding planning could be a stressful process for the bride and groom but we had all our trust in Luz and she made the process a lot easier and more manageable. I recommend Luz for any major event planning she truly is a professional in her field.

My husband and I were recently married at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens in Los Angeles. Upon booking our venue, we were pleased to be refered to Luz Pencyla. I am soooooo glad that we made the decision to book with Luz and her team as our wedding was beyon beautiful and FLAWLESS!!!! I mean, every bride expects for something to go wrong or not work out on the wedding day, but Luz was on it! Not a SINGLE thing was not to my liking or not done on time. From the moment I had contacted Luz, she was always very pleasant and professional. She would follow up with any emails or questions we had asked from questions about the food, alcohol, floral, etc. Her company provided all floral for both ceremony and reception, rentals, linens, dinnerware, bar service, cocktail hour, day of cooridination, service and wait staff, and day before rehersal meeting. We went with her caterer for our food and did a buffet and all of our guests complimented on how great the food tasted for the wedding. We went with prime rib, teriyake chicken and grilled salmon. We even did a late night snack Taco Bar thru her company which was a real crowd pleaser! Her prices are very fair for what you get. And you will not be disappointed! The ceremony area was just as we had planned, and the reception area looked like something from out of a fairytale! She pays great attention to detail. She came the day of the wedding and provided day of coordinating and stayed thru the entire event to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Her staff were all pleasant and smiled and at the end of the night they did all tear down and clean up. Another plus was everything we took to the event came back home in perfect shape. Nothing was lost or stolen (which is a huge plus as I have been to friends weddings where things have "disappeared") She runs a very honest business and my husband and I have nothing but great things to say. We both highly recommend Special Events By Luz!

I don't even know where to start. I knew Luz was the perfect fit for us the moment i met her. We started planning our wedding over a year ago and she was with us every step of the way, extremely flexible since we changed our mind several times even helped us get more for our money in terms of our decorations and flowers. Luz handled everything from the flowers, to the ceremony, reception, cocktail hour and catering. We had Mexican food for our reception and lets just say no one walked away hungry, the food honestly was fantastic and the best wedding food i have ever had. She handled lots of little details just how we wanted them! i would recommend Luz to any bride! I promise you will be in good hands. Luz, I couldn't have dreamt it any better! You nailed it! Luz Pencyla was incredible to work with. She is extremely talented at what she does and met with us numerous times to make sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent and so much better than banquet food we've had at other events (we did a sit down, served dinner). She really took care of everything for us; the food, the bar, the flowers, and we couldn't have been happier with the final result. Her team was responsive and very friendly. Additionally on the day of the wedding, Luz coordinated everything so that we really didn't have to do anything or follow up with any details. With Luz's help we ended up with an incredible day that fulfilled all we hoped for. We couldn't sing Luz's praises any more. She is the best and a joy to work with.

We started planning our wedding (set for next year) shortly after we got engaged due to the venue we wanted being in high demand. Fortunately, we were able to book a date. Through the venue, we were referred to Luz and I have to say she is amazing. She is not only going to take care of the catering aspect of our wedding, but she will also be re-creating a table setting (complete with table decorations and flowers) that I found on Pinterest and fell in love with. We have an appointment with her in the next few months where she will set up a table the way we wanted and show us; this will ensure that the day of our wedding our decorations look the way we want them to. She is very easy to talk to, very nice, and if you text or call her she gets back to you asap. In terms of food, we had a food tasting scheduled and it all of the food was great! We were able to come up with our buffet-style selections and a few extras. The pricing was very fair. Definitely recommend her.
