In a single word, Fantastic!!!! Southport Blooms is a small florist shop located on Southport Ave. From the outside, it doesn't look like anything special, but what makes it special is the manager of the shop, Jane. First, she is really sweet and very easy to work with. I was a little concerned at the shops lack of technology ( i.e. hand written estimates etc) but after dealing with them for a while I realized that I was really getting far more than I was paying for.
I showed Jane a picture of a bouquet I like and nearly cried when I saw how beautiful it was on the day of our wedding. Jane works magic with flowers!! She also worked with me and my budget making sure I got more than I paid for. She's one of those people who knows you by name the after the first meeting and remembers everything that she's discussed with you.
I decided to do our own centerpieces with some orchids we were purchasing from Southport Blooms. I was getting stressed about the logistics of getting them put together and having them sent over to our reception when Jane said that I didn't need to worry about putting them together or delivering them, she did the work for us and didn't charge us anything extra. Great customer service and wonderful people to work with. I would highly recommend.

I had a great experience working with Southport Blooms for my wedding! John, the owner, is a great, down to earth guy and Jane is a genius with flowers. Both are so nice and easy to work with. I had my wedding in Chicago as a destination wedding so I met John once and did everything else over the phone or email and my flowers turned out great! I new exactly what I wanted for my bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquets, I just sent Jane photos and she was able to replicate them no problem. They were modern, tight bundles and they said that was the look they do all the time. The boutineers I didn't worry about and Jane put together very tasteful, classic looks that looked great. They went the extra mile by automatically providing glass cylinders with water for the bouquets to sit in between photos and at the reception venue, and you get to keep them as well:) And I was just going to do simple flower peddles for my flower girl but John put together a basket with peddles in it and flowers on the side for the same cost. It was a great value, great people and I absolutely recommend them. The quality of flowers and Jane's ability to put them together into beautiful arrangements are unbeatable! John from Southport Blooms in Chicago was awesome to work with! He was easy going and he personally dropped my flowers off at the venue on our wedding day, which was a Sunday! My bouquet was even more beautiful than the picture I had given him and he incorporated my mother's lacy hanky and grandmother's earring beautifully!
