We worked with DJ Jack in October 2025, and he was AMAZING! We loved using the online portal to plan out the music for our day, and Jack was a huge help in thinking through the timeline of our day and how each song would match to it.

He understood our vibes perfectly, and our guests are still raving about the music a year later. He kept the energy upbeat effortlessly, was incredibly professional throughout the whole day, and made sure that all of our must-plays were heard. His equipment was top-notch too!

We also used the photo booth via Soundwaves, and it was great! The attendant was super friendly, we loved designing the strip, and it was a great activity to offer our guests. Super happy!

Soundwaves was great to work with. Our first meeting with Stacy was very informative. We got access to an online planning software that made it easy to make our music selections and design our timeline for the day. It was so helpful to have that guidance to make sure we had everything! Our DJ set up a meeting with us prior to the wedding to go over all the details and make sure they had everything we needed. The day of, Jacob and Ian were excellent and did everything we asked for and then some! We got so many compliments on the music from our guests and the dance floor was packed all night long! Afterwards, the DJ even shared some photos and videos he captured from the night which was an extra above and beyond.

My guests and I had the BEST time!!! The dance floor always had lots people of on it, all night long! Even the older guests who I have never seen dance, were dancing. Not only did we all have fun dancing, but Jacob made sure everything was good to go and handled music wise. Communication was amazing. I felt like I could relax and not stress about music or what was happening next. They always announced to guests what was happening and it made everyone feel like they knew what was going on. 
 All the songs were correctly played at the right time, and the ceremony/reception felt like it flowed nicely. I have nothing but great things to say about them! I want to throw another event just to have them DJ again!! Thank you Jacob! Thank you SoundWaves!!!

Jake did such an amazing job at our wedding! The vibes were high. He was very proficient and made sure to ask my husband and I any questions about times and when we would like to start the next thing throughout the whole entire day. Ten out of ten for him and his assistant Andrew.

Jack and the Soundwaves event group was PHENOMENAL. Jack was extremely thorough and detailed with planning. He made it so easy to wedding plan due to his wedding expertise. He was the best DJ ever. Music was incredible he mixed the music seamlessly. He kept the crowd going ALL night. Both Jack and Noah did a great job at keeping the schedule on track and giving us a heads up on the schedule of events. We were so remarkably happy to have them be a part of our special day. All of our guests ranted and raved about the music!

We used SoundWaves DJ and social media photo booth services for our wedding at Energy Innovation Center and we can’t recommend them enough! They were so easy to work with from the initial consultation with Stacy until the wedding day with DJ Jack.

DJ Jack kept our dance floor packed all night! He listened to all of our specific requests, helped make custom songs and helped keep the flow and energy up all night. My husband and I chose Soundwaves Event Group for our wedding and couldn't have made a better decision. From our first conversation, they were efficient and clear about how they'd run our big day, and they showed up ready to go. David and Andrew kept our guests dancing and singing throughout the night with the perfect mix of songs and energy. What really stood out was how attentive they were to the room. They read the crowd and adjusted their set on the fly to keep the party going strong. Soundwaves Entertainment Group was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and Jacob was truly one of the stars of our entire day.

Starting from the beginning, Soundwaves was actually the only DJ company I contacted in the greater Pittsburgh area that was willing to send me their pricing before requiring a Zoom call. As a bride actively comparing vendors, I appreciated that more than I can explain. Their pricing was reasonable, straightforward, and transparent enough that I ultimately chose them without even continuing conversations with some of the other companies I had been considering.

Stacy was our initial point of contact and sent me their promotional pricing at the time. We had a brief phone call where I explained what we were looking for, reviewed expectations for the wedding day, and let her know that we wanted to move forward.

Another thing we appreciated was that Soundwaves required a relatively small deposit to secure our date. When you are paying deposits to multiple wedding vendors at the same time, that absolutely makes a difference.

Throughout the planning process, their system was extremely easy to use. We received automatic reminders as the wedding got closer, along with reminders to complete our music selections and planning information. Their online portal allowed us to organize our must-play songs, do-not-play songs, songs to play if possible, ceremony details, timeline, and other important information all in one place.

Every email also included our unique username and password, which sounds like such a small thing, but I genuinely appreciated not having to remember another password during wedding planning. Everything we needed was always right there.

About two weeks before the wedding, I received an email letting me know it was time to schedule our final meeting. That was when we learned we had been assigned to Jacob.

Jacob easily accommodated both of our work schedules and met with us on a weekday evening. The three of us went through our timeline, music selections, ceremony plans, and reception details, and we knew almost immediately that his personality and energy were going to be a perfect fit for us.

He reminded me that I could continue adding songs or making changes after our meeting, but simply asked that I give him a heads-up so nothing would be missed. I did make a few changes afterward, and everything was handled without issue.

A few days before the wedding, Jacob sent us an updated timeline along with a breakdown of all of our special songs, when they would play, and who they were associated with. That was incredibly helpful to have during our rehearsal even though Soundwaves was not physically there.

On the wedding day, Jacob was the first vendor on site.

He arrived well before the ceremony, had everything set up, and checked in with me multiple times before we started. He asked what I needed, what the officiant might need, where the photographer was, and whether there was anything else he could help with.

And honestly, at some point during the day, Jacob became much more than our DJ. He became my unofficial day-of coordinator.

Our venue was very large and had multiple separate spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I specifically did not want guests entering the reception area before it was time for them to find their assigned seats. I later heard that Jacob had politely redirected several guests who tried to sneak into the reception space early and reminded them that it was not open yet.

He paid attention to the details that mattered to us without me having to constantly manage them myself.

One of the best examples happened during dinner.

During our final planning call, Jacob had suggested that my husband and I consider having a private dinner. We loved the idea and decided to do it.

On the wedding day, our plates ended up being ready a little earlier than expected. Jacob came over and realized that people were stopping us and talking to us when we were trying to sneak away.

He walked over, complimented us, made a little conversation, and then casually asked the people standing around us what they were doing and told them to go sit down so we could leave and have our private dinner.

It was hilarious, effective, and exactly what we needed.

Another thing I had specifically requested was that the bar close during dinner.

I reminded Jacob about it and assumed he would simply make an announcement.

Instead, he walked over to the bar and individually approached the people who were already standing in line and told them it was time to return to their seats because the bar was closing for dinner.

That level of effort and attention honestly blew me away.

Throughout the entire day, Jacob repeatedly checked on us. He asked if we needed drinks, if he could bring us anything, take anything away, or help with anything at all.

He never made us feel like we were bothering him or asking too much.

Then the dance floor opened.

During my initial conversation with Stacy, I had specifically said that I did not want to pay someone to simply press play on a playlist. I wanted someone who could actually mix music and keep the energy moving throughout the night.

Jacob absolutely delivered.

He mixed songs throughout the entire reception, usually keeping them around the 1:45 to 2-minute mark before transitioning into the next song, and it was phenomenal.

The dance floor stayed busy all night.

The music never felt stale, songs did not drag on too long, and the transitions kept everyone engaged. He read the room extremely well and maintained the energy from the moment dancing started until the night ended.

Jacob went far beyond what we expected from a DJ.

He was organized, attentive, personable, proactive, funny, professional, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure we were having the best day possible.

I would absolutely recommend Soundwaves Entertainment Group, but I would specifically recommend Jacob to anyone looking for a wedding DJ.

He was not just the person playing our music.

He helped manage the flow of our wedding, protected moments that were important to us, kept our guests where they needed to be, checked on us constantly, and then absolutely killed it once the dance floor opened.
