Brittany of Something Old Something New is sensational at what she does. She took my "vintage" wedding dress of 1991 style (huge, puffy sleeves) and was able to transform it easily into the dress of my daughter's dreams. She added length but no can tell. She increased the chest size and it looks like a dream. She made new sleeves and it fits in seamlessly with the dress. She explains in detail what she will do before she does it and will do it in steps to make you feel comfortable. Her workmanship is superb. She is very patient and listens to what we say and mean. She knows exactly what she is doing and her prices are so reasonable I gave her a huge tip! You can't go wrong with Brittany!

I had a dress where I was obsessed with the bottom and not the top. Brittany custom made a top and my dress became my DREAM dress! She did multiple other items for different events and I now consider her a friend as well. She is super personable and great to work with. For custom work I'd plan for 4-6 appointments and have patience and vision, because she will make it come to life! Supporting local was also very important to me and she is located in our community!

I wanted to leave this review because Something Old, Something New Bridal went above and beyond when they helped with a wedding day crisis. My veil was damaged prior to my ceremony and the bridal party rushed to their shop for a replacement. The staff member had made it in during a snow storm, opened before hours, and provided a replacement veil free of charge. I cannot thank this store enough! If they would show a stranger this generosity and care, I can imagine how amazing they are with their brides.

Brittany was truly a help in the dress searching process. She made great suggestions and hand picked my wife pick the perfect dress. They have an incredible selection of dresses for unbeatable prices.

She then provided alterations for my wife's dress, a bridesmaid gown gone wrong, my wife's dress for another wedding, and my wife's grandmothers dress. Each time was affordable and quick! We will return to Brittany for any dresses we ever need altered again!

Something Old, Something New Bridal is the absolute BEST!! Brittany did such an AMAZING job altering my wedding dress, as well as my rehearsal dinner dress. For the wedding dress, she took in the sides, added cups, added a bustle, and hemmed it! She was so fast with her alterations, and it fit me like a dream!! Additionally, Brittany made really glam facemasks for the wedding party! I sent her pictures of the bridesmaids dresses, and mother of the bride/groom dresses, and she found fun fabrics that matched! The bridesmaids had gorgeous gold-jewel tone sequin masks and the MOB had a lovely royal blue glitter mask! Brittany was so sweet, she even threw in a few extra sequin masks! I would highly recommend Brittany as a seamstress to anyone. For the past 4 years, I have used her for all my bridesmaid dress alterations, as well! She does high-quality work quickly, at a very reasonable price! Brittany is definitely worth the drive from Arlington!

THE SELECTION: The store has a lovely layout with a carefully chosen selection of WToo, Maggie Sottero, and other designers I was already looking for. I felt the butterflies I thought I couldn't afford as I walked around, and I had a variety of styles to choose from.

ALTERATIONS: For the following 3 fittings in the months ahead, Brittany was always caring and attentive, listened to every silly question, gave practical feedback on undergarments/accessories to match the dress based on her years of experience, and was upfront about pricing every time. Her work on my junior bridesmaids dress was also done in a snap!

Brittany is awesome! She is a really gifted artist and seamstress. She helped us out of a bind a week before the wedding when my daughter's wedding dress still did not fit quite right. She knew just what to do, and Kate's dress turned out just beautiful!

The ladies here have a beautiful selection of gowns at very good prices. They were both very sweet and helpful when I stopped by to look for a wedding gown. I'd definitely recommend anyone in the area to check out their shop.

Brittany is amazing. She was so understanding, efficient, and trustworthy! I loved my wedding dress, and she made it fit beautifully perfect. I live in California, but was home in Virginia for our engagement party and randomly was able to find my wedding dress over the weekend the day before we left! The bridal boutique referred me to Brittany, and called her on my behalf from the boutique. Brittany was able to fit me in that next morning hours before my flight for my initial consultation and fitting. Once I met Brittany, I loved her work ethic and her understanding for my situation, and instantly trusted her with my dress over the next few months as I flew back to CA. Since the wedding was in San Diego, CA, I only made ONE FINAL appointment with Brittany in VA a few months before the wedding (3 to be exact). She prefers her brides to have a few appointments if their local, especially for the final fitting to be closer to the wedding date, but in my situation I really only had one choice! When I was able to fly back for my 2nd/final fitting, Brittany had made all the alterations done by HAND before making any final cuts. She fitted me, and then sent me off to have lunch. I came back a short few hours later and my dress was almost all done! She made a few extra adjustments to the straps, and did a final press to the dress and then we were all done and sent me to fly home with my beautiful dress! She gave very detailed instructions on how to manage the dress before the wedding, from how to keep it hung so it wouldn't stretch out, and video instructions for the bustle. She does amazing work, and communicates immediately when you call or email her. I cannot express how happy I was with all the alterations. The bustle was my favorite part, Brittany did a 5 point american bustle into my waistline, which made the dress create extra sparkles in all its layers. It truly transformed into a different dress with the type of bustle she created with my dress. I've already referred so many of my bride friends to her, and they've loved her as well!
