Hire Liz, Conrad and Ryan for everything!! They are an absolute joy to work with! They kept us moving, captured everything flawlessly and even were snapping pictures when we had no idea. I am not a photo person and they were so sweet about it all and I forgot they were there half the time. They managed to work with our very large wedding party which I'm sure was not easy, but they did it in stride and did not show any signs of being stressed (or annoyed) they worked hard to get us to each place ahead of schedule which made our day that much smoother and we were actually able to enjoy our guests and take a moment to relax. Wishing i could live the day over and over because they made it that easy!!

Wedding planning involves a ton of decision making, and it can be so overwhelming. You want everything to go well, and there can be so much pressure because you can’t redo the day. We talked to so many different florists and djs, but only one photography team, and that was Something Blue. Hands down, they are the BEST decision we made for our wedding day.

Liz & Conrad were our photographers and they were truly phenomenal. They instantly put us at ease and made sure we were comfortable. Liz was so sweet and attentive; she was always offering me water in the heat and helping carry the back of my heavy dress when we moved to different locations. Conrad was amazing as well, also getting us water/drinks and offering to grab our boutonnieres and corsages from the fridge to make sure our families had them for pictures. They truly care about you and your partner; they made everything so incredibly easy and fun and we are so so lucky to have worked with them!

The pictures they took are GORGEOUS and so dreamy!! We got a few sneak peeks three days after our wedding, and a bunch more less than a week later. They got amazing shots, and there is so much variety! I don’t usually like how I look in pictures, but I cannot stop admiring these. These photos make me feel so confident and beautiful. They also captured so many sweet and silly moments between my fiancé and I that I will cherish forever.

SB was also extremely wonderful during the planning process. Their responses were always timely and helpful, which we appreciated so much. We mainly worked with Liz leading up to our wedding, and she is such a kind and genuine person who wants the best for your special moments. We cannot say enough great things about her and SB, and we will definitely be using them for future photo sessions!

GORGEOUS PHOTOS. I hired Something Blue for my wedding photos after my husband and I had a terrible experience with another photographer. The photos from our first photographer came out so horrible. We were posed badly, the lighting was terrible (I am a little tanner then my husband) and we felt so awkward with our photographer throughout our first engagement session. Something Blue was completely different. Our photographers were Liz and Christy. Liz did our engagement session which turned out so beautiful! It was so easy being around Liz, she posed us great and had things to help us relax and laugh. Liz went around and found these gorgeous spots for us to take pictures in and we would be walking and Liz would stop us because she loved the light in a certain spot. Our pictures turned out amazing!!!!! Liz and Christy were so great during our wedding day as well. Our photos turned out amazing. They got so many beautiful shots in different areas at our wedding venue and these beautiful sunset photos that I absolutely adore. Although, we were rushed at a couple of points and I would've loved a couple more pictures of the reception room, the pictures were gorgeous, and Liz and Christy were AMAZING. We also hired Ashley for our day of coordinator. Ashley was so sweet and did an amazing job dealing with all of our vendors and creating a day of timeline. She helped set up our reception space so perfectly and had to deal with an uninvited guest and a bit of family drama. It was so worth it to hire her. Ashley, Liz and Christy were amazing! I 100% recommend Something Blue.

My now husband and I were married July 9th, 2022. We were fortunate enough to work with both Liz and Conrad on our wedding day.

When I first was looking for photographers, Something Blue (SB) came recommended by our venue's wedding coordinator. I reached out and was able to have a meeting with Liz scheduled very quickly. The SB team is so attentive, something that is not always the norm with wedding vendors. This was very appreciated. I really enjoyed speaking with Liz on this initial call and after reviewing some of the sample galleries sent over, we agreed we wanted to work with SB.

Fast forward to our engagement shoot in November '21, which were taken in downtown Chicago...those photos were absolutely beautiful and really captured my husband and I. Working with Liz was so comfortable and even if taking pictures can feel awkward, that feeling quickly fades while working with Liz and you feel like yourself (or even the model-version of yourself).

Closer to the wedding we learned that we would get to work with not just Liz but also Conrad...sorry other SB couples but this is not the norm...we somehow just got that lucky. Meeting with them a few weeks before the wedding put my nerves at ease and I was excited to see them on the big day.

Now, with the wedding a few weeks behind us I can say I am so happy we booked Something Blue. From the moment Liz and Conrad showed up as I was finishing up getting ready to head to the church until the left at the end of their scheduled time we had an amazing time with them and are so happy with how they captured us on our special day. Liz is so knowledgable about all things wedding (as she should be...she does this every weekend), which made our lives easier. It felt like we were spending the day with friends as opposed to a paid vendors.

The SB team really captures your day and your personalities. Having posed shots were very important to me especially with family and friends, along with the organic, fun, silly, beautiful moments, and we got all of that (and I am sure even more as we await the full gallery). Any and every request I had was met and the attention to detail Conrad and Liz have is no joke.

I also love how SB edits their photos to truly look like you, nothing is overly filtered, washed out, darkened, moody...I know some of these things can be very trendy but I appreciate that I look and feel like myself in the photos, along with my family and friends.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Something Blue Photography!

From the very first conversation, my now husband and I knew we were making the right choice in photographer. Your photographer is someone who is going to be spending a lot of time with you and your family on your wedding day, so it is important that it’s the right fit. We felt we connected with Conrad and looked forward to continuing our conversations and working with him!

We wanted wedding photos that truly captured the emotions and feelings of the day. We also wanted them to look real, like us, and not super edited or editorial. They did exactly that! We are two people who are never fully comfortable in front of the camera, and Conrad and Ashley made it so easy it looks like we don’t even know they are there! Ashley also helped me so much throughout the day making sure my hair was just right, the train on my dress was fluffed, making sure I wasn’t stepping on my dress and so much more.

We received 150 “sneak peek” photos which is more than I’ve ever seen with friends and family that have gotten married in the past! We were so grateful to receive them so quickly (less than two weeks) and share them with our loved ones. It was so cool to see those moments captured while they were still so fresh in our minds.

From start to finish, Conrad and Ashley with Something Blue Photography were an absolute dream to work with and have on our vendor team. We will recommend them to anyone we know getting married in the near future. They also do so much more than weddings like family shoots, maternity and newborn shoots, so we hope to work with them in the future as well!

One of the things we appreciated the most about SBP is that we were able to meet our photographer, Conrad, right away. We got married on 10/19/2019 and used Something Blue for our photography and videography. We just received a “sneak peek” album of our photos and I am blown away! The pictures are absolutely beautiful. Conrad, Lindsay, Ryan and Vraj were so professional and made us feel so at ease in front of the camera. They scouted several locations for our wedding photos prior to arriving, which shows how dedicated they are to their job and each couple that they photograph. The spots that they found were hidden gems that are SO pretty in photos – they perfectly captured the rustic, romantic vibe I wanted. I cannot wait to get all of our photos and videos back and am looking forward to picking out wedding albums with them. Thank you guys for being such an important and memorable part of our big day!

I hired Something Blue for our wedding on July 27, 2019. Something Blue was one of the recommended vendors from our venue so I did my research on them and decided to contact them after I read all of their glowing reviews. I scheduled a phone meeting with Liz since I live in California and wasn’t able to meet her in person. I liked her immediately the first time we spoke- she was sweet, friendly, and down-to-earth but I knew that she was the photographer I wanted when she told me that because she had been photographing at Makray for so many years, she knew the staff very well and was able to get the groundskeeper to pretty much take her and the bridal party to any location outside on the green (mind you, another photographer that I had talked to said it was a huge hurdle for him to get pictures on the green!). All of my planning with Liz had to be done via email and/or phone and Liz was always super responsive, flexible, and accommodating to me throughout the process. We had our engagement photos done in Chicago in September 2018 which was the first time that we met Liz in person. Because I had been following Something Blue’s social media accounts, I felt like I already knew Liz; at the engagement session, she made me feel like I had known her for years. Neither myself nor my husband were very comfortable at first taking our engagement photos as it was the first professional photo shoot that either of us had done and we typically do not like the spotlight to be on us (not to mention that my husband hates getting his photo taken). By the end, I wanted to go around the entire city and keep the session going! Even my husband had a good time and enjoyed himself by the end of the session. After that night, I couldn’t wait for Liz to photograph us again for our wedding. The engagement photos came out gorgeous which made me even more confident that I had chosen the right person/company for our wedding. A few weeks before the wedding, Liz met with my husband and I to discuss the details of our big day. Liz was again very patient with us as we told her all of the things that we wanted and then helped us think through the things that we hadn’t thought of yet. On our big day, she brought Ashlee (another AMAZING photographer) and her assistant Gunther with her to help. The three of them took such great care of us all day, were so meticulous with all of the details, and were beyond patient with my husband’s crazy, loud groomsmen and the painfully long extended family photos that we took after the ceremony (Ashlee is an angel for putting up with our families who were beyond difficult at times). I couldn’t be more grateful to this team in how they captured the beauty of our day. We just received our wedding photos and they are absolutely stunning! I can’t stop looking at them; our wedding photos help me relive this beautiful day over and over again. I can’t begin to thank the Something Blue team enough for their amazing work and am so thankful that I chose them to photograph our wedding!

We are incredibly lucky to have met Liz, Conrad, Gunnar, Colette, and Marcella and booked our photographers and videographer through Something Blue. Liz made us feel so comfortable at our first meeting and that feeling of comfort carried on to our engagement pictures and wedding day. We got married on July 2019 on a very hot day, with some rain, but our pictures turned out beautiful! They demonstrated great flexibility (especially with finding multiple locations to shoot dependent on the weather), professionalism and kindness. Words alone can’t express how happy we were working with Something Blue Photography & Design. We were married May 19, 2018 at Makray Memorial Country Club, where Liz and Conrad captured our wedding. From the time we met Liz we knew we wanted to work with her. The numerous photos she showed us that she had taken at our venue had their own personal touch and showed the brides and grooms individual personality.
Leading up to the wedding Liz answered any questions we had. We met with both Liz and Conrad to go over “must have” photos and to the finalize day of timeline.
