The Sofitel is an outstanding place to hold a wedding, with first-class service all around. We were married there in August 2019, and found the venue to be intimate and charming, ideal for our 80-person event. The decor was lovely, the rooms were impeccable, with lots of amenities, and the French cuisine was excellent. We were given a honeymoon suite with a large terrace, which was great for photos. We were extremely impressed with all of the staff members who assisted us at Sofitel, especially the Director of Catering and Conference Services, Darian James.

From beginning to end, working with Darian was an absolute pleasure. When we met him, it was clear that he genuinely cared about helping us and our guests to have the best possible experience, that he understood what we wanted, and that he knew what he was doing when it came to event planning. Throughout the process, he was responsive to concerns, willing to accommodate all manner of requests right up to the last minute, attending to every detail with patience and good humor. We bombarded him with what must have been an overwhelming amount of questions on a tight timeframe, and he was never anything less than the perfect correspondent, providing quick and thorough answers to our many e-mails. When we weren’t sure of how to make certain decisions ourselves, we trusted his judgment, and he was right. With him, we always knew we were in good hands.

During the wedding itself, Darian went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring that the ceremony and reception went smoothly. He worked expertly with our vendors, coordinating so that everything went exactly as we hoped, and we never had to think twice about logistics on the day. Not only was he a source of comfort and happiness for us, he went out of his way to make our families feel special. His presence alone was amazing, but he kept working even when the event was over to help a guest find a lost purse. In addition to being the consummate professional, he’s simply a great guy and we enjoyed spending time with him. He took away a lot of the inherent stress of planning, making every step fun and easy. We looked forward to our meetings with him and we miss him now that it’s all over! Ultimately, he was an essential part of our wedding, and we can’t imagine it without him.

If you get the opportunity to work with Darian, take it. We can’t recommend him highly enough.

I had absolutely the best experience working with Sofitel, especially the director of catering and events - Darian James. The hotel truly provided everything that I need, from the luxurious and beautiful ballroom serving as the venue for both our ceremony and reception to the gorgeous bridal suite with a killer view of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and the big apple itself. If you are looking for a venue that embodies the charm of NYC and the romance of France, then this is your best choice!

I have to mention more about Darian. He was very responsive from the first email to the end of the wedding party. Anything we need or any questions that we have, he managed to reply to us in a timely manner. I felt like he was our personal wedding planner given the effort he put throughout our communication.

We were really satisfied with the menu and the entire chef team as well. The tasting went absolutely smooth and fun! We decided to go with their Grilled Angus New York steak and Red Snapper fillet as our main course. Every guest was raving about the food and how much they enjoyed the dessert and drinks as well.

Overall, thanks to the staff team in Sofitel, we had our fairy tale wedding realized! They have truly one of the best services in New York City! Amazing food, space, and people to work with. I would highly recommend Sofitel for anyone that is looking to have a wedding in NYC.

I would absolutely recommend the Sofitel New York Hotel for your ceremony and reception or just reception. We selected the Sofitel NY bc of their Sales Manager, Darian James. He was our first point of contact and worked with us until the very end. Darian was very responsive to our inquiries, was always professional and extremely helpful in planning our big day, from out of state! Darian sent pictures, brochures, menus and helped us plan out our day so efficiently, we felt so sure, we booked.

We took a tour of the hotel three months later then taste tested five months later. Everything was esquisite. The hotel is enchanting. The ballroom is so unique and charming. Probably the biggest factor is how well we were treated by absolutely every staff member at the hotel. It felt like the entire hotel was there to help us on our day. We had a meeting planner, Lauren, call us to help set up any specific needs. We met the hotel manager, who would run the details in the back. I wanted for nothing. My wedding day was absolutely magical.

My guests raved about the food. We had a duet of Seabass and Filet Mignon with risotto and vegetables. Even my skeptical senior members were super impressed with the great food and service.

The service is classic French and it was fantastic. We had six passed hors d'oeuvres that were passed plentifully. The Sofitel delivered with elegance, sophistication and class. Experienced staff that managed everything beautifully from the Prosecco and sparkling water entrance to the cocktail hour and beyond.

We held my son's Bar Mitzvah party at the Sofitel Hotel NY and they were great. Noellie, the catering manager, really did an outstanding job of proving amazing customer service and worked with me through the whole process to ensure that the party went well. The food was outstanding also. The ballroom looked great and Noellie and her staff also worked well with the other vendors that we hired to create a great party with a modern vibe. I received a ton of compliments on the party. The hotel is gorgeous and all of the staff were extremely friendly and professional. I would highly recommend looking at the Sofitel for any Bar or Bat Mitzvah parties since they were great. They also gave us some great package options to work with.

Bridget Marrin and her staff did a fabulous job for my event. Bridget helped me plan the menu and the wine. She did a lovely job of personalizing the menu for the event. The décor of the room and the table setting was elegant. Her staff who served the meal did it in the most elegant unobtrusive manner with great precision. All of my guests remarked to me at the end of the event how wonderful the food and service were.

The reception turned out GREAT! The decor of the table setting was elegant, the food was EXCELLENT, and the service was efficient. Noellie and her staff made sure everything was going well and really allowed me to enjoy the party.
