I used Schades of Light for lighting services/decorations for my wedding at the Veranda @ the Whitcomb. I found their decorations/lighting to be very nice but expensive. It is not a required service to use but it really does add that extra something to the venue. I was happy we selected the paper lanterns as they did really add an extra amount of elegance to the space. We also rented the patio furniture and café lights but found it was too cold out on the patio for many people to enjoy them. I would recommend Schades of Light to other brides as their products are beautiful and it was easy to work with them.

Schades of Light is a lighting and decor company that is contracted though the venue we chose for our wedding. The venue itself is relatively bare and for such an occasion I would guess that most, if not all brides, feel it necessary to add some amount of lighting and decor to the space. And, your venue will look great because of the added décor.
However, I personally found the options for decor to be rather minimal and highly overpriced considering that if you do chose from the list, the decorations are strategically placed on existing hardware in the ceiling. For instance from the 2014 price list: we chose 5 panels of fabric on the ceiling and paid $800! The panels are laid out in a billowy, crisscross pattern and I was told that the pattern could not be changed. This was not custom fabric (it's used over and over again) and there was no room for creativity in the installation. Of all of our wedding expenses, I felt this one was the most inflated. Realistically (like you're going to bring your own 20ft. ladder and hang lights the morning of your wedding), there's really no getting around using their services.
All the communicating with this vendor was done through the venue representative and that complicated the process with many back and forth emails.
