The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History came to be in the 1980s when the Santa Cruz Historical Society and the Art Museum of Santa Cruz County merged together to combine the arts and history of this remarkable city. This new foundation was going to be established in the old county jail building, but was redesigned as a new construction after the Loma Prieta earthquake. The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History continues to celebrate the natural art and history of the historic downtown for the benefit of all who enter.

Love is in the air this Valentine's Day at the first ever speed wedding and vow renewal event at the MAH. Enjoy all the fun, romance, and commitment as any other wedding– but with zero planning. Grab your loved one and sign-up to be one of the happy couples today.
Here’s how it works:
Get hitched, or renew your vows, at a 15 minute private ceremony with 10 of your favorite people. Then, stay and celebrate at an ongoing communal wedding reception that includes an eight-foot long cake, photo booth, and DIY buttonmaking. It is a BYOB event –that stands for Bring Your Own Bouquet– and Abbott Square Market will be open for food and drinks.
