Saltbox Catering is a Best of Boston-awarded caterer based in Concord, MA that serves the greater Boston and New England regions.
Led by Chef and owner Ben Elliott, our team works intimately with our clients to design a custom, farm-inspired menu that you will be proud to serve your guests and that incorporates as many ingredients from our own Saltbox Farm as possible. Our food is classic, simple yet refined and unpretentious.
Built by Chef Ben's grandparents in the 1940s, Saltbox Farm is the main source of inspiration for how we cook and think about food. By using our own organically-grown vegetables, honey, eggs, lamb and hops in our dishes, we are continuing Concord's long agricultural tradition while ensuring a sustainable future for the farm that has been a key source of inspiration throughout Chef Ben's life. Saltbox Farm can also be rented as an event venue, a truly unique setting to celebrate with friends and family.

Ben T. Elliott, a Concord resident, has spent the past 20 years honing his culinary skills in some of the country's most celebrated kitchens.
From La Folie and the Fifth Floor under Chef Laurant Gras in San Francisco, to Lockeober and No9 Park in Boston, Ben has held a variety of positions in a quest to master various culinary specialties. During his 7 year career with James Beard Award-winning chef Barbara Lynch, Ben was Chef de Cusine at No.9 Park, then moved to the South End to open Lynch's demonstration kitchen Stir and recipe tested for her cookbook of the same name, and most recently launched Lynch's catering company, 9 at Home, as Chef de Cuisine before leaving to start his own business in 2010.

My daughter’s wedding last July 14th filled me with happiness and kept me awake at night with anxiety. I enjoy cooking and feeding people well. I am also sensitive to how food is presented . From the moment I was introduced to Saltbox Farm’s catering manager my anxiety started to fade. Her professionalism and confidence reassured me, but still I had no idea if this was going to come off the way she said it would. All I can say is, it did! The appetizers, the lunch, the wine choices got rave reviews from guests of all ages and parts of the country. The presentation was elegant and appealing and the catering staff could not have been nicer. Friendly efficient enjoyable and fun.
I can’t recommend Saltbox Farm highly enough. I can only express my gratitude to them for making an important day a perfect memory.

Highly recommend Saltbox Kitchen
We very highly recommend working with Saltbox Kitchen. We feel so lucky to have chosen them for our wedding! The food was creative, delicious, and beautiful. Many guests complimented the meal and also how it was served - family style! The catering staff was all extremely nice, hard-working, and professional. They did a fantastic job serving our 155 guests!
In addition to the incredible food, working with Saltbox Kitchen made our entire wedding more special. We absolutely loved working with Megan Hawkes, the Catering Manager. We could not have imagined someone doing a better job. She was hard-working, extremely organized, thoughtful, so caring, and creative. From the planning process to the many day-of details, Megan helped us enormously. Megan has a fantastic aesthetic vision for how to make a venue look festive and beautiful. We got married in a simple space with white walls, but, because of her help, it looked amazing. She also made herself extremely available to help us - from meeting with us for as long as needed to quickly following up about our many questions. Megan went completely above and beyond what we expected from a catering company. We are extremely grateful to her!

I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Saltbox. We discovered them at our friend's wedding- and remembered it being the only memorable wedding food we had had. When we found a venue we weren't thrilled with the local options- the vendors we had reached out to were stuffy and vague about pricing.
We got married on Saranac Lake in upstate New York, so weren't sure what the response would be when we asked Saltbox about their availability and willingness to travel. From the beginning, Megan was transparent about the costs associated with bringing here the team 5 hours away and about the pricing in general- which was much appreciated.
We went for a tasting up at the farmhouse. Chef Ben had a meal ready for us based on the initial menu he had developed and the time of year of the wedding. We used that as a starting point to design a menu together- a collaborative and creative experience. Megan, who was our main point person throughout diligent about coordinating with our wedding planner to make sure the process went smoothly and efficiently.
When it came to the day of the wedding- the food was just amazing. Fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors. Our guests were blown away. I actually made a point to eat the ever elusive wedding night dinner. The staff was all so lovely and they really helped us create a special experience for our friends and family. We were and still are totally thrilled.
We love working with Saltbox Farm and Ben Elliott. Locally sourced, beautifully crafted and superbly executed. Cannot say enough.
